Kaepernick completed 14-of-26 passes for 201 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's 22-17 win over Kansas City. He was sacked three times, and ran for 18 yards on 10 carries.
Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde combined to run the ball 28 times for 150 yards, so Kaepernick didn't air it out much. He did hook up with Brandon Lloyd on a couple of nice deep throws, including a 38-yard pass in which Lloyd beautifully adjusted to the ball in the air. The dynamic quarterback has been productive this year as a runner, as one might assume, but he still hasn't passed for more than 250 yards in a game. Next week, he'll travel to St. Louis, a team that he has played well against in four career starts, although the Rams have defended the pass well in 2014.

Kaepernick completed 17-of-30 passes for 218 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's win against Philadelphia. He added 58 yards as a rusher.
Kaepernick struggled to move the ball at times through the air, but the running game was working, as Frank Gore rushed for 119 yards. It's been a mixed bag for Kaepernick so far this year, but he's too talented to sit, unless you have a superior option, or just want to play matchups at quarterback.

Kaepernick (back) completed 29-of-37 pass attempts for 245 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball 13 times for 54 yards in the loss to Arizona on Sunday.
Despite the uncharacteristic 37 pass attempts and 13 rush attempts, Kaepernick's yardage and touchdown totals were rather pedestrian against a tough Cardinals' defense. He didn't turn the ball over once Sunday after giving it up four times last week against Chicago, but he also seemed a little gun-shy with his pass attempts (6.62 YPA). Through three games, the results from Kaepernick have been mixed. His rushing attempts have increased on a weekly basis, which is a positive for his fantasy value going forward. But only contributing four touchdowns through three games is worrisome for those who own him in one-quarterback leagues. There is no doubt Kaepernick is a talented quarterback, but how he is used on the field seems to change on a weekly basis, which could make him a frustrating player to rely on week-to-week. Next week should provide a great opportunity to showcase his skills when San Francisco takes on a Philadelphia defense that just gave up 34 points and 511 yards to Washington.

Kaepernick (back) is listed as active for Sunday's game against Arizona.
As expected, Kaepernick is available, but he'll be working without the services of tight ends Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald on Sunday.
Fri Sep 19 201417:52Kaepernick (back) probable for Sunday's game against Arizona
Kaepernick (back) is probable for Sunday's game against Arizona, CSN Bay Area reports.
Kaepernick practiced all week, so his health isn't an issue heading into the matchup with Arizona. The health of tight end Vernon Davis (ankle/knee) is less certain, however, as the star pass catcher sat out practice all week. If Kaepernick is without Davis, he'll be without his top red-zone target.
Thu Sep 18 201420:33Kaepernick (back) practiced in full Thursday
Kaepernick (back) practiced in full Thursday, FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
Kaepernick hasn't missed a start since taking over for Alex Smith in the latter half of the 2012 season, and his activity level Thursday shouldn't threaten his availability heading into Sunday's game in Arizona. In three career nods against the Cardinals, he's completed 53-of-91 passes (58.2 percent) for 838 yards with six touchdowns and one interception en route to a 3-0 record.

Kaepernick completed 21-of-34 passes for 248 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Bears. He added 66 yards on nine carries, but also lost a fumble.
Kaepernick took four sacks and made numerous poor decisions in what was clearly one of the worst games of his career. The 49ers led 17-0 in the second quarter, and held a 20-7 lead heading into the fourth. Kaepernick set the Bears up with a short field twice in the final 15 minutes, allowing counterpart Jay Cutler to throw for a trio of fourth-quarter touchdown passes. Through two games, we've seen both reasons that Kaepenick can be disappointing to fantasy owners. In Week 1, the Niners jumped out to an early lead, and then leaned on their defense and running game. This week, Kaepernick himself was the issue, as he made a few great plays, but also had more than his fair share of bad ones. There's still plenty of untapped upside, as the San Francisco defense doesn't have its dominant personnel group of past years, while the offense has an improved bunch of receiving weapons, though Vernon Davis left Sunday's game with an ankle injury. Next week brings a matchup with the 2-0 Cardinals, a team that appears to have lost quite a bit of defensive talent from last season, but has held up just fine through two games.

Kaepernick completed 16-of-23 passes for 201 yards with a pair of touchdowns in Sunday's 28-17 win at Dallas. He didn't do much on the ground, rushing for just 11 yards on five carries.
Kaepernick looked sharp in general, but he didn't need to do a whole lot, as San Francisco's defense set him up in great situations. He didn't have the greatest preseason in the world, so his performance Sunday was certainly encouraging. The exciting young quarterback should post strong numbers again in Week 2, facing the Bears at home.

Kaepernick only completed 6-of-his-12 pass attempts Sunday, but ran the ball for 13 yards on two carries in win over San Diego.
Kaepernick was under pressure during his time on the field due to an incomplete offensive line. His protection has help on the way, so he won't be as rushed once the regular season is under way. It was good to see him hit the ground running for the first time this preseason, as a majority of his fantasy value comes from his ability to gain yards on the ground in addition to his arm. He will likely sit out the 49ers' final preseason game next week in order to be fresh for week 1.

Kaepernick completed 5-of-9 passes for 39 yards during Sunday's 34-0 preseason loss to the Broncos.
Kaepernick was relatively quiet during his two series, as he finished without a single rushing attempt. He did throw one long ball to Brandon Lloyd in the end zone, but the ball came up just short. Regardless of the outcome, Kaepernick finished the game uninjured, and he'll likely get a little more work in the third preseason game before sitting out the fourth to keep him healthy for the season opener.
Fri Aug 8 201400:08Kaepernick completed only pass attempt for 17 yards in Thursday'...
Kaepernick completed his only pass attempt for 17 yards in Thursday's preseason opener against the Ravens.
Kaepernick was only in for one drive, and Carlos Hyde did most of the damage on the ground. Still, he looked good on his only completion, rolling out on a designed play-action and throwing a dart to tight end Vance McDonald. With new weapons Stevie Johnson and Bruce Ellington at his disposal, Kaepernick will look to improve on a pedestrian 2013 fantasy season.
Wed Jun 18 201411:5449ers to move away from ground-n-pound?
OC Greg Roman hinted that the 49ers could throw more this season.
Since 2011, the 49ers have ranked no higher than 31st in pass attempts. The time to start moving away from that ground-n-pound style is now. Colin Kaepernick is in his second full year as the starter, the defense doesn't project to be as fearsome and the offensive weaponry has been improved drastically. Roman isn't going to turn into Scott Linehan all of a sudden, but there's a lot of room for statistical jumps here. Kaepernick's has more upside than most of the quarterbacks in the borderline QB1 range.

Thu Jun 12 201412:43Kaepernick won't be charged in hotel incident
As expected, Colin Kaepernick will not be charged for an April incident in a Miami hotel room.
Quinton Patton and Ricardo Lockette will not be charged with anything either. The "suspicious incident" reportedly involved a naked woman calling herself Jesus and refusing to leave the room until she saw Kaepernick. "She was alleging that she may have been the victim of a sexual assault, and there was no evidence." said Ed Griffith of the State Attorney's Office. The 49ers signed Kaepernick to a six-year extension last week. "At some point there needs to be a resolution to some of jump-the-gun, witch-hunt kind of scenario that we're seeing," coach Jim Harbaugh said earlier this offseason. "I mean, the only victim in Colin's case is Colin's reputation."

Tue Jun 10 201420:1149ers may expand passing game in 2014
CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco believes it's "reasonable" to expect the 49ers to "put more on (Colin) Kaepernick's plate in the passing game" this season.
As Maiocco notes, this would "enable (Kaepernick) to put up bigger numbers." The Niners may not have a choice, as their defense is likely to take a step back while missing ILB Navorro Bowman (ACL, MCL surgery) and Aldon Smith (forthcoming extension) quite possibly for half of the season. Blowout wins were a big obstacle to Kaepernick's 2013 stats, though he still finished as the No. 12 fantasy quarterback. The 49ers have traded for Stevie Johnson, and return Michael Crabtree at 100 percent. Kaepernick is being drafted as a QB2, but offers top-ten fantasy quarterback upside.

Tue Jun 3 201410:19Report: 9ers, Kaep to talk contract this week
The Sacramento Bee reports the 49ers and Colin Kaepernick's representatives will meet face-to-face this week to discuss a contract extension.
It's believed to be the first face-to-face talk between the two sides since they dined together at the Combine in February. The 49ers recently received an additional $9.2 million in cap room with Carlos Rogers' money coming off the books on June 1 and ILB NaVorro Bowman restructuring his contract. Entering his contract year, Kaepernick is expected to command at least $18 million annually. The two sides wants a deal done by training camp, which kicks off on July 23.

Thu May 29 201421:3549ers expect 'breakout year' from Kaepernick
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh anticipates a breakout year from Colin Kaepernick.
Kaepernick, 26, is in a contract year. "I really expect that real breakout year for Colin," Harbaugh said. "He just has the look and feel that he's going to break out, more so than he already has. I'm really excited about everything about his game right now." Harbaugh talked up the 49ers' "firepower" and "ammunition" with Michael Crabtree healthy, and Stevie Johnson joining the wideout corps. Kaepernick scored 25 all-purpose TDs in 2013, finishing as the No. 12 fantasy passer. He's more of a QB2 pick this year, albeit with top-ten scoring upside.

Wed May 28 201419:41Miami police concludes investigation
Miami police have concluded their investigation into the "suspicious incident" in which Colin Kaepernick was named last month.
"Our investigation has been presented to our State Attorney's Office, and we await their decision whether to prosecute or not," said police chief Manuel Orosa. Miami police previously stated there was "no evidence of a crime." Kaepernick was never accused of a crime, either. He should be in the clear.

Thu May 15 201413:27Report: Niners want Kaep's deal before camp
CSN Bay Area reports the 49ers would like to hammer out Colin Kaepernick's contract extension before the beginning of training camp.
The 49ers currently have just $592,000 in cap space, but will earn another $6.6 million when Carlos Rogers' deal comes off the books on June 1. Typically extensions lower cap numbers, but that won't be the case with Kaep this season, who's due just $973,766 in the final year of his rookie contract.
