Gerhart will get a look at fullback in 2015, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Gerhart is big and strong, but that doesn't mean he'll be an effective lead blocker. He also still figures to be in the mix for touches at running back, along with Denard Robinson, Storm Johnson and Bernard Pierce. The Jags clearly want to upgrade the position, and it won't be surprising if they use a high draft pick on a running back next month.

Gerhart finished the 2014 season with 326 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 101 carries. He also hauled in 20 passes for 186 yards.
Gerhart entered the season, his first with the Jaguars, entrenched as the starting running back. However, after a painfully slow start plagued by nagging injuries, he eventually ceded the designation to Denard Robinson. Gerhart remained in the rotation for the rest of the season but never topped 55 yards in any one game. He'll return next season and figures to have a chance to earn his job back, though the Jaguars could address the running back position through the draft, as no player on the current roster, Gerhart included, looked like a true featured back.

Gerhart (ribs) had four carries for eight yards during Sunday's loss to the Texans.
After spending the first four years of his career as Adrian Peterson's backup in Minnesota, Gerhart signed a three-year contract with the Jags to be their feature back. It never really happened for the Stanford product, who failed to rush for even 55 yards in a game this season, while also losing his starting job to former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. Given his play this season (326 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 14 games), it's unlikely that Gerhart earns the starting job next season, which greatly limits his fantasy potential.

Gerhart (ribs) is active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Gerhart is technically the lead back for Jacksonville, though that role has resulted in just 25 carries over the last two weeks, so he's not getting a bell cow-type workload. Houston has a pretty stout run defense (11th in rushing yards allowed), so this looks like a tough matchup overall for Gerhart.

Gerhart (ribs) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Texans, the Jaguars' official site reports.
Gerhart drew the probable designation despite being limited in practice this week, but he's on track to play Sunday and if that's the case, he'd be in line to head the Jaguars' rushing attack in Week 17, with Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson also in the mix to work in complementary roles.
Wed Dec 24 201413:10Gerhart (ribs) limited at practice Wednesday
Gerhart (ribs) was limited at practice Wednesday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.
We'll monitor Gerhart's status in the coming days, but his participation in Wednesday's practice (after also working Tuesday) bodes well for his chances of suited up in Sunday's regular season finale against the Texans.
Thu Dec 18 201423:20Toby Gerhart: Exits With RIb Contusion
Gerhart was ruled out for the final few minutes of Thursday's game due to a rib contusion.
Gerhart first left the game in the third quarter, but he was then able to return and take a few more carries. He was ruled out for good around the two-minute warning, leaving Jordan Todman to get the final few touches. Gerhart finished with 12 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown, adding one reception for seven yards on two targets. Todman, meanwhile, had five carries for 71 yards and a touchdown of his own, with another five yards on two receptions. Gerhart has 10 days to recover before Jacksonville's season finale in Houston. If he's able to play, the touches will likely be divided in a similar manner, with Todman working behind Gerhart but also handling most of the passing-down snaps.

Gerhart could be in for a slightly heavier workload Thursday against the Titans.
Coach Gus Bradley indicated that Gerhart could receive more carries than the 13 he saw against the Ravens on Sunday, when he rushed for a season-high 54 yards. Gerhart will continue to share rushing duties with Storm Johnson and Jordan Todman, but Bradley said, "it would not surprise me if you saw him (Gerhart) get a little bit more work." Tennessee allows the most rushing yards of any team in the NFL at 139.6 per game.

Gerhart started in place of Denard Robinson (foot) and rushed for 54 yards on 13 carries Sunday against Baltimore.
It was Gerhart's best performance of the season and just the third time he's seen seen double-digit carries. The Stanford product gain the edge, in terms of workload, over Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson, and he may be an interesting dark horse play in Week 16 against a poor Titans rushing defense.
Sun Dec 14 201411:52Gerhart (ankle) in starting lineup Sunday against Ravens
Gerhart (ankle) is in the starting lineup Sunday against the Ravens.
With Denard Robinson (foot) out, Gerhart starts ahead of Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson, though they all figure to get touches against a Ravens defense allowing the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game this season.

Gerhart (ankle) practiced fully Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Ravens, the Jaguars' official site reports.
With Denard Robinson out for the season, Gerhart is expected to start at running back for the Jaguars on Sunday against the Ravens, though look for Storm Johnson and Jordan Todman to figure into the team's Week 15 backfield mix as well. Neither of the trio are high-percentage plays, though Gerhart's worth a lineup look for those digging deep this weekend.

Gerhart (ankle) practiced fully Thursday.
Per John Oehser of jaguars.com, with Denard Robinson out for the season, Gerhart is expected to start at running back for the Jaguars on Sunday against the Ravens, though look for Storm Johnson and Jordan Todman to figure into the team's Week 15 backfield mix as well, a potential time-share outcome supported by the fact that the trio shared practice reps on Thursday.

Though Gerhart was limited at practice Wednesday with an ankle issue, coach Gus Bradley anticipates that Gerhart will start at running back for the Jaguars on Sunday against the Ravens.
That said, Bradley indicated Wednesday that Storm Johnson and Jordan Todman are also in line for reps this weekend, with Denard Robinson out for the season. At this stage though, it looks like Gerhart is on track to head the team's Week 15 backfield committee, assuming his ankle holds up as the practice week progresses.

With Denard Robinson out for the season, Gerhart, Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson are in line handle the Jaguars' rushing duties down the stretch, according to coach Gus Bradley.
While the report hints at some form of time-share, of the three, we suspect that Gerhart -- who notes that his previously-injured foot is feeling good these days -- would appear to be the best bet to get the first shot at heading the Jaguars' backfield Sunday against the Ravens. That said, the team could well go with the hot hand (if one emerges) as the game progresses.

Gerhart carried the ball five times for 19 yards and hauled in two passes for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to Houston.
Once again, Gerhart was completely ineffective as the backup to Denard Robinson in a Jags' running game that only totaled 74 yards. Once projected as a potential sleeper early in the season, Gerhart's fantasy value has bottomed out.

Gerhart (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Gerhart is usually good for a handful of touches running the ball and catching passes out of the backfield each week, but he only has one touchdown on the season.

Gerhart (shoulder) was a full participant in all three practices this week heading into Sunday's game against Houston, the Jaguars' official site reports.
Gerhart lost the starting running back job to Denard Robinson several weeks ago, so he's unlikely to make an impact in this week's game. However, Robinson has slowed down after a productive four-week stretch -- 25 carries for 69 yards the last two weeks. Gerhart's not totally off the radar.

Gerhart rushed for seven yards on five carries in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Gerhart once again served as the backup to Denard Robinson and once again didn't make much of an impact. He's completely off the radar across nearly all formats at this point, and his first year in Jacksonville has been nothing short of disastrous, from a fantasy perspective.

Gerhart carried the ball four times for 31 yards and caught three passes on four targets for 19 yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts.
Gerhart again worked as the backup to Denard Robinson and saw limited action. The bulk of his yardage came on a 23-yard scamper, which was easily his longest run of the season. Until he's given a larger share of the carries, Gerhart is not much of a fantasy commodity.

Gerhart carried four times for two yards in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.
Gerhart continues to work in a limited role as the backup to Denard Robinson, who had two touchdowns Sunday. He has extremely limited value in most leagues at this point, though he's likely an injury away from returning to a featured role. Over his last four games, Gerhart has 40 yards on 15 carries.
