Tue May 14 201319:59ILB Washington running with second-team D
Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington was running with the second-team defense in OTAs on Tuesday.
Recent signee Karlos Dansby was running with the first-teamers. It's a loud and clear message from the Cardinals' new braintrust that their patience is wearing thin with the troublemaking linebacker. Suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, Washington could be banned additional games after he was arrested for domestic assault earlier this month. A budding superstar, Washington will return to a starting job whenever he's finally allowed back, but he can't afford any more off-the-field slip-ups.

Mon May 6 201316:47Daryl Washington may be suspended again
The Arizona Republic believes suspended ILB Daryl Washington's Friday arrest for domestic assault could result in an "additional suspension."
The NFL is taking a wait-and-see approach to Washington's latest incident, but he's already banned the first four games for a substance-abuse violation and is now subject to the league's personal conduct policy. In March of 2014, Washington is due a $10 million option bonus. He may never see that money. The Cards certainly can't count on Washington making any 2013 contributions.

CBS5 in Phoenix is reporting that Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington's alleged victim has broken collarbone.
Per the report, Police say Washington went to his ex-girlfriend's house to see their 5-month-old daughter. Police say they got into a second fight in the parking lot, where she was pushed to the ground and broke her collarbone. Washington is charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Fri May 3 201315:23Report: Daryl Washington arrested for assault
Fox 10 Arizona's Mia Garcia reports Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington was arrested Friday on two counts of aggravated assault.
Already suspended for the first four games of 2013 for a substance-abuse violation, Washington has been under investigation by Phoenix Police for allegedly attacking a woman and choking her to the point he has marks on her neck as proof. Before Friday's arrest, police had been searching for Washington for the better part of this week. The Cardinals can no longer realistically count on Washington making an impact during the 2013 NFL season.

Fri Dec 7 201209:00Daryl Washington can make franchise history
With one more sack, Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington will become the first player in franchise history to have at least 10 sacks and 100 tackles in a single season.
"I think about how lucky we were to get him under contract with the way he's played," coach Ken Whisenhunt said, referring to Washington's six-year, $32.5 million deal signed in early September. With one more sack, Washington will not only tie Ken Harvey's franchise single-season record, but also become just the third inside linebacker since 1994 to register double-digit sacks.

Tue Oct 30 201210:11Daryl Washington continues breakout season
Daryl Washington is the first Cardinal to have two sacks in back-to-back games since Eric Swann did it in 1999.
Washington doesn't play like a normal 3-4 inside linebacker. He's constantly coming on fire blitzes and has exceptional pass-rushing talent. Through eight games, Washington has 68 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup. He's playing at an All-Pro level.

Sat Sep 22 201209:56Daryl Washington has blitz 20 times in 2012
According to Pro Football Focus, Daryl Washington has rushed the passer 20 times this season.
That's bad news for Michael Vick, who can struggle against the blitz. Last season, Washington rushed Vick 12 times and delivered a crushing blow that injured Vick's ribs. The shorthanded Eagles offensive line could struggle to protect Vick from the pressure the Cardinals are likely to dial up on Sunday.

Cardinals signed ILB Daryl Washington to a contract extension.
Washington, 25, gets locked up with two full years remaining on his rookie contract. The new deal takes him through the 2017 season. One of the Cardinals' building blocks on defense, Washington led the team in tackles with 107 last season and added five sacks, two interceptions and seven pass breakups. Now in his second full season as an every-down player, we're expecting another step forward.

Tue Jul 31 201201:10Cardinals looking to extend ILB Washington
The Cardinals and the player rep for ILB Daryl Washington have talked "back and forth" about a potential contract extension.
"He's a very talented player and he has demonstrated that he's the type of guy that we want in our program for the long term," said GM Rod Graves. No offer has been made yet, but there is mutual interest in a lucrative extension for the Cardinals' 25-year-old Pro-Bowl caliber linebacker. Washington was easily the team's leading tackler with 107 last season.

Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington is weighing in at 243 pounds, up 15 since the beginning of his rookie season.
"I didn't feel it," said Washington, who looked like a strong safety as a rookie. Washington does plan to drop down to 238 after emerging as a stud 3-4 inside linebacker last season while playing at 234 pounds. "My speed is still the same," Washington insists.

The agent for ILB Daryl Washington (calf) expects his client to play in Week 2.

Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington suffered a calf strain in the team's Week 1 win over Carolina.

Sun Aug 7 201114:00Cardinals have big plans for LB Washington
New DC Ray Horton reportedly has "big things planned" for weak-side ILB Daryl Washington this season.
Washington showed tremendous closing speed as a rookie, and it sounds like Horton envisions him as the desert version of Lawrence Timmons. Incumbent Paris Lenon is still lining up as the starting strong-side ILB, but the more talented Stewart Bradley is expected to displace him before the start of the season.

Wed Jun 29 201114:35Daryl Washington could interest the Eagles
FOX Sports' Adam Caplan suggests 2010 second-round pick Daryl Washington as a player that could interest the Eagles in a Kevin Kolb trade.
Washington, the 47th pick in last year's draft, showed terrific closing speed and promise in his first season. It's hard to imagine the Cardinals parting with Washington, and the Eagles would want him as well as a future high draft pick. Caplan does not believe Arizona would be willing to part with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in a post-lockout trade for Kolb.

Sun Nov 7 201011:10Gerald Hayes back, Washington gets demotion
Cardinals LB Daryl Washington's demotion to a backup is not as a result of his play, but because of Gerald Hayes' return.
All along the plan was for Hayes to regain his starting job once activated from the PUP list. Washington had a great opportunity to get some starting experience under his belt, and he should develop into the long-term starter at the position.
