The Bills reached an injury settlement with Moeaki (hamstring) and have released him, the team's official site reports.
As a result, Moeaki, who the Bills had placed on IR, will be eligible to catch on with another team, once his health is re-established.
Fri Aug 29 201419:08Moeaki (hamstring) placed on IR by Bills
Moeaki (hamstring) has been placed on IR by the Bills, the Associated Press reports.
Once again, Moeaki's playing prospects are derailed by injuries, with the release of fellow TE Dominique Jones on Friday leaving the Bills' top options at the position as Scott Chandler, Lee Smith and Chris Gragg.

Moeaki (hamstring) will not play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions, Joe Buscaglia of WGR550.com reports.
That means Moeaki, likely on the roster bubble, will go the entire preseason without playing a game. The Bills will probably be choosing two among a foursome of Moeaki, Lee Smith, Chris Gragg, and Dominique Jones for two TE spots behind Scott Chandler. With Smith also out hurt, the team will have some extra guesswork to put into the decision.

Moeaki (hamstring) will not play in Buffalo's preseason game Saturday against the Buccaneers.
Moeaki has been out for almost a month with this, and at this point he's probably at best going to make the team as a third tight end. His skills are still worth something, but given his injury issues and lack of experience with the Buffalo offense, Moeaki should be nowhere near your draft board right now.
Wed Aug 13 201423:19Moeki continues to miss practice time due to hamstring issue
Moeki continues to miss practice time due to a hamstring issue, BuffaloBills.com reports.
Meanwhile, Scott Chandler is back healthy and Moeaki has still never had an extended stretch where he's been able to learn the Buffalo offense as a healthy player. At best he can get back quickly and win the No. 2 job, but there's a chance the Bills could cut bait and go with healthier options in Lee Smith and Chris Gragg behind Chandler.

Moeaki (hamstring) was limited to individual position drills during Tuesday night's practice.
The Bills will continue to take a conservative approach with Moeaki, who will likely be limited in practice for at least a few more days. Once he's back to 11-on-11 drills, he'll compete with Lee Smith for the role of Scott Chandler's primary backup.
Tue Aug 5 201418:48Moeaki (hamstring) expected to practice Tuesday
Moeaki (hamstring) is expected to practice Tuesday.
Moeaki's hamstring ailment turned out to be just a 10-day injury, which is far from the worst-case scenario since it was initially reported that the injury would cause him to miss "significant" time. Moeaki is hoping to carve out a role as an off-the-bench pass catcher for the Bills.

Moeaki (hamstring) is not expected to play in Sunday's preseason Hall of Fame Game against the Giants, The Buffalo News reports.
The Bills are banged up at tight end right now, with their top two guys in Scott Chandler and Moeaki both out, while Lee Smith and Chris Gragg have just recovered from their own injuries. If he can get back out on the field, Moeaki is expected to battle for the No. 2 tight end job with Smith and Gragg, though Smith is more of a blocking specialist.

Thu Jul 10 201416:25Tony Moeaki likely on the roster bubble
WGR 550 Buffalo considers Bills TE Tony Moeaki on the roster bubble.
This puts reporter Joe Buscaglia in accord with ESPN's Mike Rodak, though Buscaglia also believes Moeaki could carve out a nice role in camp. Moeaki ran with the first-team offense for the majority of the offseason as Scott Chandler missed time. As always with Moeaki, his roster spot will ultimately come down to his health. Either way, he's unlikely to make a fantasy impact in 2014.

Sun Jun 22 201416:56Tony Moeaki could threaten Chandler's job
WGR 550 Buffalo's Joe Buscaglia suggests Tony Moeaki is a threat to Scott Chandler's starting job.
Moeaki spent almost the spring with Buffalo's first-team offense, while Chandler was limited in OTAs and excused from minicamp due to a family matter. Moeaki is a better blocker and athlete than Chandler, and the Bills at very least can put him to use in two-tight end sets. Per Buscaglia, Buffalo wanted Eric Ebron at No. 9 had it not found a trade partner to move up for Sammy Watkins.

Mon May 26 201414:07Tony Moeaki in for an expanded role w/ Bills?
WGR 550 Buffalo believes Bills TE Tony Moeaki could have an expanded role for 2014.
Moeaki was active for two games last season, but failed to play a single snap. According to reporter Joe Buscaglia, the Bills believe in Moeaki's "athleticism and ability to contribute." The injury-prone former Chief won't be a starter, but could carve out roles both on offense and special teams. He's highly unlikely to be a fantasy contributor.

Thu Dec 5 201313:35Tony Moeaki not expected to be ready Sunday
Newly signed Bills TE Tony Moeaki isn't expected to be active for Sunday's game.
Moeaki greatly improves the Bills' tight end corps, but is going to need a lot more than four days to learn the playbook. Moeaki will likely be eased in over the season's final month, and won't be a legitimate option in re-draft leagues. Although he has one of the league's longest injury histories, Moeaki is worth a flier in Dynasty formats.

Wed Dec 4 201316:09Bills sign former Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki
Bills signed TE Tony Moeaki.
Moeaki was waived by the Chiefs with an injury settlement last month. The oft-injured veteran posted a 33/453/1 line in 15 games last season and will provide depth behind contract-year TE Scott Chandler. The Bills released RB Tashard Choice from the 53-man roster in a corresponding move.

Chiefs waived TE Tony Moeaki with an injury settlement.
Moeaki fractured his shoulder in late-August and was waived/injured by the Chiefs. He reverted to injured reserve and has now been cut loose. Moeaki is expected to be healthy by Week 11 and can sign with any team as long as he clears waivers. Moeaki posted a 33-453-1 line in 15 games last season.

Sat Aug 31 201314:39Chiefs throw in the towel on TE Tony Moeaki
Tony Moeaki tweeted that he's been released by the Chiefs.
Moeaki is dealing with a fractured shoulder at the moment, so he's likely being waived/injured or getting released with an injury settlement. The former third-round pick missed the entire 2011 season with a torn ACL. He came back and caught just 33 passes and one touchdown last season. The Chiefs are moving forward with Anthony Fasano and rookie Travis Kelce at tight end.

Mon Aug 26 201313:39Moeaki out indefinitely with broken shoulder
Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki is out indefinitely with a fractured shoulder.
That should just about do it for Moeaki in Kansas City, though he'll likely be stashed on injured reserve as opposed to released with an injury settlement. The 2010 third-round pick was already on the roster bubble, and just can't stay healthy. Rookie Travis Kelce and veteran Anthony Fasano will hold down tight end for the Chiefs this season.

Sun Aug 25 201300:38Tony Moeaki makes one grab for 24 yards
Tony Moeaki caught one pass for 24 yards in Saturday's third preseason game against the Steelers.
Unless he suits up for Thursday's finale, Moeaki finishes the preseason with just two catches for 26 yards. A rough summer from Travis Kelce appears to have sewn up Moeaki's roster spot, but he could still end up a "surprise" cut next weekend. Moeaki's fantasy appeal is long gone.

Tue Jul 23 201319:30Tony Moeaki cleared for Chiefs camp
Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki (knee) has been medically cleared for training camp.
After an early-offseason left knee scope, Moeaki missed all of OTAs and there was speculation he might not be ready for camp. Chiefs doctors obviously believe he's ready to practice. Moeaki's role and roster security are in question this year following the additions of Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce.
