Wed Jul 29 201519:25Tony Romo: Practice Schedule To Be Determined
Romo's practice reps in training camp will be subject to how he feels from day to day, Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. "We'll develop that plan based on how he's feeling, how he's handling the workload," coach Jason Garrett said. "You'll probably see him practice a lot, you'll probably see him have some off days. There's nothing structured at this point."
Last season, Romo didn't take the practice field more than two days in a row and was regularly given Wednesday off during the regular season. The policy was implemented to see how he would respond in his first season following back surgery, and the results yielded much fruit. Missing only one contest, he completed a career-high 69.9 percent of his passes for 3,705 yards to go with 34 touchdowns and nine interceptions. With more fluidity regarding his availability this season, he appears poised to replicate those numbers.

Romo says he feels fully healthy this offseason for the first time since his 2013 back surgery, Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com reports. "Just the ability to have an offseason I haven't had that in a few years," Romo said in an interview with the Cowboys' flagship radio station 105.3 The Fan. "I'm really able to push it a little bit right now, which has been exciting with the legs, the upper body and some of the stuff I haven't been able to do for two, two and a half, three years."
A dominant offensive line and a career season from DeMarco Murray helped Romo to his own career-best 69.9% completion rate, 34:9 TD:INT ratio and 113.2 QB rating last year. Even with Murray now in Philadelphia, it's possible that a healthier Romo might be able to repeat or even exceed his 2014 performance.

Romo (back/finger) completed 15-of-19 passes for 191 yards with two TDs in Sunday's 26-21 playoff loss to the Packers.
Romo, who suffered a left ring finger injury in the game, according to Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News, will now have the offseason to recover from his various aches and pains. Meanwhile, two key cogs in the Dallas offense -- WR Dez Bryant and RB DeMarco Murray -- are headed for free agency, though we suspect that the team is likely to be inclined to go all-in in order to keep Bryant, Romo's top receiving weapon.
Thu Jan 8 201516:20Romo (back) returned to practice Thursday
Romo (back) returned to practice Thursday, the Cowboys' official site reports.
As expected, Romo was back at practice Thursday after receiving a routine off day on Wednesday. He'll start Sunday's game against the Packers, whose top QB, Aaron Rodgers, is dealing with a bothersome calf injury.
Wed Jan 7 201512:39Romo (back) didn't practice Wednesday
Romo (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports.
With Wednesday's absence presumably routine and maintenance-related, Romo should return to a full practice Thursday in advance of Sunday's divisional round playoff contest against the Packers.

Romo (back) completed 19-of-31 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Lions.
The Lions limited DeMarco Murray to 75 yards on 19 carries, but Romo had a big second half to lead his team back from a 20-7 deficit. As well as he played after halftime, Romo did very little before the break, with the exception of a 76-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams, who would later haul in the game-winning score. The Cowboys will now travel to Lambeau Field to face an up-and-down Green Bay defense that finished the season strong.
Sun Jan 4 201515:28Romo (back) active for Sunday's game against Lions
Romo (back) is active for Sunday's game against the Lions, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.
As expected, Romo -- who took a routine practice day off on Wednesday -- will continue to play through his aches and pains, while looking to improve on his 1-3 career mark as a playoff starter.

Romo (back) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Lions.
After a routine day off on Wednesday, Romo practiced fully both Thursday and Friday and is good to go for Sunday's wild card tilt against the Lions, a 4:40 ET kickoff.
Thu Jan 1 201513:07Romo (back) returned to practice Thursday
Romo (back) returned to practice Thursday, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.
As expected, Romo is back at practice Thursday, after a routine day off, and barring any unforeseen setbacks, he'll start Sunday's wild card game against the Lions.
Wed Dec 31 201412:49Romo (back) sitting out Wednesday's practice
Romo (back) is sitting out Wednesday's practice, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
With Wednesday's absence maintenance-related, look for Romo to return to a full practice Thursday, as the Cowboys continue their preparation for Sunday's playoff opener against the Lions.

Romo (back) completed 22-of-34 passes for 299 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception during Sunday's win over Washington.
While he posted his fewest passing yards total since the 2010 season when he played just six games, Romo has a legitimate argument for some MVP votes this year after leading the Cowboys to a 12-4 record. He finished with 3,705 passing yards, with 34 touchdowns and just nine interceptions in 15 games, missing one contest after suffering two transverse fractures in his back. He enters the postseason with nine touchdowns in his last three games.
Sun Dec 28 201411:46Tony Romo: (Back) Active Sunday
Romo (back) is listed as active Sunday at Washington, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Although Jason Garrett has made it known that he won't rest his starters, Romo's chances of playing the entire contest are questionable, as there are only a few Week 17 outcomes in which the Cowboys move up from the No. 3 seed in the NFC with a victory. Thus, Garrett could opt to give Romo's season-long back issue a break, but not before taking aim at a Washington defense that has given up a league-high 33 touchdown passes this year.

Though Todd Archer of ESPN.com relayed earlier this week that coach Jason Garrett plans to play his starters (including Romo, back) Sunday against Washington, he later noted "that doesn't mean he will play them the entire game."
While scenarios do exist in which the Cowboys could emerge from Week 17 with a seed higher than No. 3, per the team's official site, they aren't high-percentage outcomes, thus it's plausible that the team could exercise some caution with key cogs such as Romo (who has been banged up over the course of this season) as Sunday's game progresses.
Fri Dec 26 201415:38Romo (back) probable for Sunday's game against Washington
Romo (back) is probable for Sunday's game against Washington.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, coach Jason Garrett said Dallas won't rest its starters against Washington, so Romo theoretically could have a whole game to beat up Washington's weak secondary, blowout scenarios aside.
Thu Dec 25 201419:25Tony Romo: (Back) Practices In Full Thursday
Romo (back) practiced fully Thursday.
Romo's practice schedule -- no activity, followed by two full showings -- has been the same in advance of each of the five games since the Cowboys' Week 11 bye. The quarterback is unlikely to deviate from the script with one regular season practice remaining, but his sights are now set upon a Washington defense that ranks last in the league with 33 passing touchdowns yielded.
Thu Dec 25 201416:34Romo (back) returned to practice Thursday
Romo (back) returned to practice Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports.
Even if he participated with restrictions, Romo isn't in any danger of missing Sunday's game in Washington, which boasts a defense that has surrendered 301.8 passing yards per outing and 12 touchdown strikes to quarterbacks in the last four games.
Wed Dec 24 201412:44Tony Romo: (Back) Doesn't Practice Wednesday
Romo (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports.
Romo is keeping up his typical practice schedule, which should include a return to drills Thursday after a veteran's day off. With the potential for a first-round bye dangling in front of the Cowboys, expect Romo to be full tilt Sunday at Washington against a defense that has allowed 301.8 yards per game and 12 touchdown passes to quarterbacks in the past four outings.

Romo (back) completed 18 of 20 passes for 218 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 42-7 win over the Colts.
It's hard to play much better than Romo did Sunday. He systematically dismantled the Colts, slinging touchdowns to four different players. Romo has been on a tear this month, throwing for 10 touchdowns and no interceptions in three December games. He should be another surefire QB1 next weekend against Washington, with the caveat that the Cowboys may decide to rest or limit some of their starters if a first-round bye is no longer within reach.
Sun Dec 21 201415:16Tony Romo: (Back) Active Sunday
Romo (back) is active for Sunday's contest versus the Colts, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Because DeMarco Murray could be limited due to his healing left hand, Romo may sling it more than normal in Week 16. If the preceding comes to fruition, Romo will seek to buck a recent trend, namely an Indianapolis defense that has held signal callers to less than 200 yards passing in three of the past four games.
Fri Dec 19 201415:17Romo (back) probable for Sunday's game against Indianapolis
Romo (back) is probable for Sunday's game against Indianapolis.
If Sunday's strong game against Philadelphia was any indication, Romo's back injury is entirely manageable at this point. He's having a brilliant season and it's hard to see why he shouldn't be ranked as a QB1 in what could be a looming shootout with Andrew Luck.
