Jones muffed a punt and caught his only target for a 30-yard gain in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Colts.
Jones' big gain led to the touchdown that pulled Baltimore within seven points, but the veteran receiver still had a rough day. In the first quarter, he let a catchable punt hit the ground, and then failed to pounce on it after it appeared to touch his jersey. He's had a few absent-minded plays on special teams this season, and was replaced by Lardarius Webb as the punt returner for the rest of Sunday's game. He also played just eight offensive snaps, while Marlon Brown logged 30. With the split similar the week before amid Jones' continued problems with drops, Brown can now safely be considered the No. 3 wide receiver. However, the Ravens like Jones' big-play ability, which is why they rewarded him with a sizable contract in the offseason. He'll likely get more chances on offense this year, and could even work his way back ahead of Brown. For now, Jones may just serve as the kick returner and No. 4 receiver.

Jones dropped his only target in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Panthers.
Jones did the same thing last week, getting just one look and wasting it with an uncontested drop. He somehow already has four bad drops, despite seeing just 10 targets through the first four games of the season. The Ravens have given Jones every chance to hold on to the No. 3 wideout role, but he may have lost the job Sunday afternoon. Jones was nearly invisible after the dropped pass, finishing the game with just six offensive snaps, compared to 31 for Marlon Brown. While Brown hasn't done much this season, he has at least avoided the obvious mistakes that have plagued Jones. If he drops to fourth or fifth on the depth chart at wideout, Jones will mostly just be a very well compensated return specialist.
Mon Sep 22 201413:18Jones dropped only target in Sunday's 23-21 win over Browns
Jones dropped his only target in Sunday's 23-21 win over the Browns.
Jones didn't get any chances in the return game Sunday afternoon, getting held to fair catches and touchbacks. His drop was a bad one, as he got wide open down the right sideline with the Ravens trailing by four in the fourth quarter, only to let a perfect pass go off his fingertips. Drops have always been a problem for Jones, who now has three on the season to go along with just three receptions on nine targets. He and Marlon Brown each played 23 offensive snaps in a game that saw the Ravens record 33 carries. Jones had 28 snaps to Brown's four in Week 2, but it was 48-40 in Week 1. Brown caught his lone target for 15 yards Sunday, and while he hasn't done much this season, he seems to be pushing Jones for snaps behind starters Torrey and Steve Smith. The Ravens may use more three and four-wide formations after TE Dennis Pitta suffered another hip injury Sunday.

Jones caught his only target for four yards in Thursday's 26-6 win over the Steelers.
Though quiet from a receiving perspective, Jones played 28-of-70 snaps in a game that saw the Ravens go run-heavy, while Marlon Brown was only on the field for four plays. Jones logged a bunch of snaps as the lone receiver in one-wide formations, and he avoided the drops and poor return decisions that spoiled his season opener. His highlight for the night was a 33-yard punt return, but it came in the fourth quarter with the Ravens up by three scores.

Jones had two catches for 16 yards on seven targets in Sunday's loss to the Bengals
Jones and Marlon Brown essentially worked as co-No. 3 wide receivers, with Jones logging 48-of-88 snaps and Brown 40-of-88. Neither played well, but Jones' struggles were more obvious, as he dropped a couple of passes, including one for a long gain. Jones also had a bad day on special teams, muffing a punt, and then later making a bad decision to take the ball out from the end zone on the final drive of the game. He still figures to work as the top return man in Week 2, as he was mostly excellent in that role the past two seasons. He also figures to maintain his role in the offense, though 48 snaps is on the very high end of what can be expected, with the Ravens unlikely to approach 88 offensive plays or 62 pass attempts most weeks.

Jones caught two passes for 16 yards on three targets in Saturday's preseason opener against the 49ers.
More significant than the statistics, Jones worked as the No. 3 wide receiver, ahead of Marlon Brown. With Torrey Smith locked in as the No. 1, and Steve Smith likely to get the second-most snaps, Jones and Brown are jockeying for whatever's left. The Ravens will likely try to find roles for both Jones and Brown, as Steve Smith won't necessarily be an every-down player, and the team could split up the No. 3 duties.

Tue Mar 11 201417:53Jacoby Jones set to visit the Giants
ESPN's Josina Anderson reports WR/KR Jacoby Jones will visit the Giants.
Baltimore is still interested in Jones, but they are unlikely to pay him the $4 million he earned in 2013. Jones will not find that kind of money in New York, but taking a few visits will give him the opportunity to gauge his market. Wherever he lands, Jones will be nothing more than a special teams player and situational wide receiver in 2014.

Sat Mar 8 201411:34Ravens have made offer to Jacoby Jones
The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson reports the Ravens have tabled an offer for free agent WR/KR Jacoby Jones.
Baltimore is interested in resigning Jones, but nothing is imminent. The Ravens are unlikely to offer Jones the $4 million he collected in 2013, so he may be interested in testing his value on the open market. He will be nothing more than a special teams player and situation wide receiver in 2014.

Fri Jan 31 201416:36Ravens won't overpay to keep Jacoby Jones
The Ravens are interested in re-signing free agent WR/KR Jacoby Jones, "depending upon his salary demands."
Per the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens would "likely" balk at paying Jones the $4 million he collected in 2013 via salary and a bonus. The Ravens likely no longer envision Jones as a potential starting wide receiver, and would prefer to pay him special teams money. Jones turns 30 years old before next season.

Thu Jan 30 201413:45Kubiak has 'great relationship' with Jones
New Ravens OC Gary Kubiak insists he has a "great relationship" with impending free agent Jacoby Jones.
It was Kubiak's Texans who released Jones in May 2012. "I don't want to say I was like a father figure to him, but he was like one of my children," Kubiak said, perhaps protesting too much. "I'm so proud of the man he's become, as well as the player. I look forward to seeing him." Jones has failed time and again as a No. 2/3 receiver, but remains an effective deep threat and return specialist. The Ravens should make a bid to keep him, but won't overpay.

Jacoby Jones was held to one catch for 11 yards in Baltimore's Week 16 loss to the Patriots.
Jones drew only four targets in what was his worst game of the season. Jones entered Week 16 having notched at least four catches in four consecutive games. He'll need 56 yards in Week 17 to get over the 500-yard threshold for 2013.

Tue Dec 17 201300:29Jacoby Jones leads Ravens in receiving on MNF
Jacoby Jones caught six passes for 80 yards in Week 15 versus the Lions.
Jones finished with nine targets, three fewer than Torrey Smith, but led the Ravens in catches and yards. His big catch was a 27-yard hookup over the middle that he nearly scooted through the defense with for a touchdown. Jones added another 84 yards on three returns. He's a WR4 in non-return-yards leagues.

Sun Dec 8 201317:48Jacoby Jones has monster all-purpose game
Jacoby Jones caught four passes for 37 yards in Baltimore's Week 14 win over the Vikings, adding a 77-yard touchdown on a fourth-quarter kick return.
It was a monster all-purpose effort from Jones, who finished with 229 total yards. Of course, Jones has still failed to eclipse four catches on the season, and has only one touchdown since Week 6. He's a borderline WR4 in leagues that don't count return yardage.

Fri Nov 29 201300:30Jacoby Jones catches four passes in win
Jacoby Jones caught four passes for 53 yards in Week 13 versus the Steelers.
Jones was targeted seven times in the passing game, and his four grabs matched a season-high. His biggest play of the night was a long kick return up the Steelers' sideline. He was caught from behind on the return around the 30-yard line, but that was partly due to Steelers coach Mike Tomlin being on the field and forcing Jones to change his path. Tomlin had his back to the play in a sneaky fashion and wasn't penalized, even though he should have been. Jones remains a WR5 at best for fantasy purposes.

Sun Nov 24 201316:06Jacoby Jones drops 4-103-1 on Jets secondary
Jacoby Jones caught four balls for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' Week 12 win over the Jets.
Jones beat Ed Reed and Dee Milliner on his 66-yard scoring bomb in the third quarter. This was situational deep threat Jones' first game over 50 yards all season, so he's not going to be a recommended fantasy play in Week 13 against the Steelers. We've always known Jones has big-play ability -- he's consistently showed it on special teams -- but he is not a consistent wide receiver.

Sun Nov 17 201320:08Jacoby Jones catches two passes in loss
Jacoby Jones caught two passes for 18 yards in Week 11 versus Chicago.
They were the only two targets Jones saw. Even with Marlon Brown (knee) inactive, Jones was just a bit player on offense. Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson picked up Brown's work. Jones isn't a fantasy option.

Sun Nov 10 201318:21Jacoby Jones catches two passes in win
Jacoby Jones caught two passes for 17 yards in Week 10 against the Bengals.
Jones was targeted just twice, while Marlon Brown saw three passes come his way. The two continue to cancel each other out and aren't enticing fantasy options.

Sun Nov 3 201320:44Jacoby Jones sees eight targets in Week 9
Jacoby Jones caught four passes for 27 yards in Week 9 at Cleveland.
Jones saw eight targets for the second consecutive week. However, he's yet to top 42 yards in any of his four games this season. Jones and Marlon Brown will continue to cancel each other out most weeks. Jones is a WR5 at best.
