Mon Apr 30 201217:07Rams waive five players from 90-man roster
Rams waived RB Quinn Porter, DB Nate Ness, DT John Henderson, TE DeMarco Cosby, and CB Chris Smith.
Teams can carry 90 men on the offseason roster and the Rams might be the most talent-poor club in football, so these moves bode poorly for these players' long-term outlooks. Porter, a former undrafted rookie running back out of Stillman College, saw some time on St. Louis' active roster last season.

Wed Sep 14 201111:51Rams sign Quinn Porter away from CLE
Rams signed RB Quinn Porter off the Browns' practice squad.
With Steven Jackson (quad) sidelined, the Rams are acquiring depth. Porter has previously spent time with the Packers and Redskins before signing on in Cleveland on a reserve/futures deal. He could get a chance to return kicks on Monday night.

Wed Jan 5 201111:24Browns sign Porter, others to futures deals
Browns signed RB Quinn Porter, OTs Phil Trautwein and Branndon Braxton, OG Pat Murray, TE Tyson DeVree, FB Tyler Clutts, and DB DeAngelo Smith to reserve/futures contracts.
Porter was expected to make the Packers roster out of camp last summer, but the start of his season was derailed by a sprained MCL. He spent time on the Redskins' practice squad before landing in Cleveland. The Stillman college product will fight for a roster spot behind Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty next summer.

Thu Oct 7 201013:34Redskins sign RB Porter to practice squad
Redskins signed RB Quinn Porter to their practice squad.
Porter is healthy now after spraining his MCL in Packers camp this summer. With only Ryan Torain and Chad Simpson healthy and active, Porter is worth tracking in D.C. We're tentatively expecting Keiland Williams to be promoted from the practice squad this weekend to act as the No. 2 back against Green Bay.

Tue Oct 5 201017:51Cowboys work out nine, including Porter
The Cowboys worked out nine free agents Tuesday, including former Packers RB Quinn Porter.
The Cowboys would only be kicking Porter's tires for a practice squad spot, but the work out suggests he's over his preseason MCL sprain. Also working out: S Quintin Demps, C Eric Ghiaciuc, OT Xavier Fulton, RB Alphonso Smith, S DeVon Hall, and CB Ross Weaver.

Mon Sep 6 201010:40Packers waive Porter
Packers waived RB Quinn Porter.
They had placed him on injured reserve last week, but instead they'll save some money and give him an injury settlement. It's possible Porter, who has a sprained MCL, could return to Green Bay later this year.

Tue Aug 31 201017:44Packers place Porter on injured reserve
Packers placed RB Quinn Porter on injured reserve with a sprained MCL, ending his season.
Barring additions at final cuts -- which are quite possible -- the Packers' tailback depth chart reads: Ryan Grant, Brandon Jackson, Kregg Lumpkin. Porter showed playmaking ability on the practice field in camp, but doesn't have the mental part of the game down. He's an I.R. "stash" for the season.
Tue Aug 31 201014:27Porter out 2-4 weeks with MCL sprain
Packers RB Quinn Porter is expected to be sidelined for 2-4 weeks with a sprained MCL.
Porter is seeking a second opinion, but the initial diagnosis suggests his roster spot is in peril. With rookie James Starks (hamstring) still without a timetable for a return, Kregg Lumpkin is now the heavy favorite for the No. 3 tailback job.

Fri Aug 27 201008:37Porter leaves with knee sprain
Packers RB Quinn Porter left Thursday's game with a knee sprain and did not return.
This could seal Porter's fate as he was battling Kregg Lumpkin to be the No. 3 RB. Lumpkin entered the game ahead of Porter last night anyway.

Mon Aug 9 201010:17Porter "the surprise of camp" so far
Undrafted rookie RB Quinn Porter has been arguably "the surprise of camp," according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette's Kareem Copeland.
Barring injury, Porter is a longshot to see significant snaps with the Cheeseheads. However, he's clearly made a positive impression and will push for a roster spot. "He jumps out, every practice," coach Mike McCarthy said. "Everybody's excited about it. He's shown some very natural run instincts. He's a young man that so far is taking advantage of his opportunities."

Sat Aug 7 201010:13Packers RB Porter could make the final team
Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel speculates that RB Quinn Porter has a chance to make the final roster.
With James Starks (hamstring) out, Porter has been making the most of his opportunity. The Stillman college product has been working out with the running backs as well as participating in punt and kickoff return drills. If he makes the squad, he'll still need to supplant Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson to see any carries. Barring injury to either, Porter has no fantasy value.
