Free agent WR Kevin Cone will visit the Panthers on Friday.
Jacksonville is also interested. Cone has only one reception as an NFL player, but that is roughly one more than Tavarres King or Marvin McNutt, the two players currently atop the Panther's wide receiver depth chart. Even with the wide receiver situation in Carolina, Cone would be nothing more than a special teams contributor.

Cone didn't receive any targets and played behind Darius Johnson in four-wide sets. Despite injuries to Julio Jones and Roddy White, he remains off the fantasy radar.

Cone was active for 12 games last season, but didn't see any offensive snaps. He's competing with Drew Davis, Marcus Jackson and former Mr. Irrelevant Tim Toone for a roster spot.

With Eric Weems now on the Bears, there's room on the roster. Both Cone and Davis spent last season on the practice squad, with the former earning a promotion to the active roster in Week 17. Whoever makes the squad will focus primarily on special teams.

Falcons promoted WR Kevin Cone from their practice squad.
Cone played wide receiver opposite Demaryius Thomas at Georgia Tech. Not related to former Mets pitcher David Cone, Kevin will probably focus on running downs kicks in special teams coverage if he's active on game days.
