Clemens completed five-of-six passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss at Minnesota.
With the game out of reach, the Bolts sat Philip Rivers down, and Clemens actually played pretty well, leading the team on a nice drive that ended with a 19-yard touchdown throw to Keenan Allen.

Clemens completed 1 of 3 passes for 10 yards after replacing Philip Rivers (hand) with two minutes left in the third quarter of Sunday's 37-0 loss at Miami.
Rivers' injury isn't considered serious, as the team simply decided it wasn't worth putting their starting quarterback into a game they were trailing by 37. The Chargers are off in Week 10, allowing Rivers extra time to heal, but if the injury turns out to be more serious than initially believed, Clemens could get the Week 11 start against the Raiders,

Clemens completed 14 of 21 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns in Friday night's exhibition loss at Seattle.
The Bolts did not play many of their regulars for long in this game, but the solid performance by Clemens is notable because it appears that he will serve as a solid backup option to Philip Rivers this year and might actually be an upgrade over former No. 2, Charlie Whitehurst.

Sun Dec 29 201319:49Kellen Clemens struggles again as Rams fall
Kellen Clemens completed 21-of-30 passes for 157 yards, one touchdown, and two picks in St. Louis' Week 17 loss to Seattle.
Clemens wound up starting nine games following Sam Bradford's ACL tear, compiling an 8:7 TD-to-INT ratio as a caretaker quarterback who severely limited what the Rams could do offensively. They changed their entire offense with Clemens under center, morphing from a spread to run-heavy team in an effort to "hide" Clemens. Clemens is now an impending free agent. St. Louis should look to upgrade in the offseason, though OC Brian Schottenheimer's familiarity with Clemens could buy him another year in the Gateway City.

Sun Dec 8 201320:48Kellen Clemens roughed up in Week 14 loss
Kellen Clemens completed 16-of-27 passes for 181 yards and two interceptions in the Rams' Week 14 loss to the Cardinals.
Clemens was downright awful, which tends to happen more often than not with him. He was indecisive with the football and made some really bad throws. Clemens' first interception was a pick-six that he threw right to Karlos Dansby. The second was a heave down the middle of the field. Clemens was sacked four times and hit numerous other times. Backup QB Austin Davis was warming up at one point after Clemens was decked from behind on a sack. Clemens won't be a fantasy option next week against the Saints at home.

Sun Nov 10 201316:31Kellen Clemens throws for 247 yards in win
Kellen Clemens completed 9-of-16 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns in St. Louis' Week 10 win over the Colts.
Clemens had Tavon Austin to thank for his big day, as the rookie wideout turned his only two catches into 138 yards and two touchdowns. Otherwise, Clemens was called on to simply not lose the game. He spent the majority of the afternoon sticking the ball into Zac Stacy's chest, though he botched one handoff, getting credited with a lost fumble. It's quite possible the yardage will go down as a season high for the Rams' interim game manager. Clemens will be a low-end QB2 coming off the Rams' Week 11 bye.

Sun Nov 3 201316:32Clemens throws for 210 yards, touchdown
Kellen Clemens completed 20-of-35 passes for 210 yards, a touchdown, and 16 yards rushing in the Rams' Week 9 loss to Tennessee.
Clemens has a cleaner-looking throwing motion than Tim Tebow, but the results are ordinarily the same. Clemens is a scattershot passer who makes mistakes with bodies around him. He's a major downgrade from Sam Bradford. The Rams play the Colts next. Look for Clemens to make a third straight start.

Wed Oct 30 201314:34Rams sticking with Clemens at quarterback
Coach Jeff Fisher confirmed Kellen Clemens will start Sunday against the Titans.
Clemens was brutal in the Rams' Monday-night loss to the Seahawks, completing just 15-of-31 passes for 158 yards and two interceptions. He was unarguably the worst player on the field and likely cost the Rams a chance to pull off the upset victory. The Rams still believe Clemens gives the team its best chance to win. They need to lean on the running game more moving forward. Austin Davis and Brady Quinn are the Nos. 2 and 3 quarterbacks. Davis has been in the system for a year-and-a-half. Clemens isn't an option in two-quarterback leagues.

Tue Oct 29 201300:25Kellen Clemens horrible in MNF loss to 'Hawks
Kellen Clemens completed 15-of-31 passes for 158 yards and two interceptions in Monday night's Week 8 loss to the Seahawks.
Making his first start of the season in place of Sam Bradford (torn ACL), Clemens was pitiful. His first interception wasn't entirely his fault. Jared Cook ran a clumsy route and looked disinterested the entire play, but it was still a poorly thrown ball. The second pick was an overthrow of Austin Pettis on a basic curl route. OC Brian Schottenheimer then put the ball in Clemens' hands on the final play of the game. On fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line with four seconds to play, Clemens threw a terrible fade to Brian Quick that fell hopelessly to the ground. Clemens also sees ghosts in the pocket. He's going to hurt the Rams more than he's going to help them down the stretch. It wouldn't be a surprise if Austin Davis eventually replaces Clemens under center. Clemens will get another start against the Titans next week. He's not an option in two-quarterback leagues.

Mon Oct 21 201312:56Kellen Clemens to start in Week 8
QB Kellen Clemens will start for the Rams in Week 8.
Sam Bradford (ACL) is done for the year and the Rams aren't signing Tim Tebow. That leaves Clemens, a 30-year-old former second-round pick of the Jets in 2006. He's started 12 games in his career, going 191-of-367 (52.0 percent) for 2,200 yards with seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Clemens is highly unlikely to be able to sustain offense for the Rams, especially against the Seahawks' fearsome defense in Week 8. Even owners in two-quarterback leagues need to aim higher.

Mon Apr 15 201321:19Rams re-upping with QB Kellen Clemens
Rams re-signed QB Kellen Clemens to a one-year contract.
Clemens, 30 in June, appeared in two games last season, completing 1-of-3 passes with an interception and a fumble. Coach Jeff Fisher has already said second-year QB Austin Davis is entering training camp as the No. 2 to Sam Bradford. Clemens will battle for the No. 3 job, and he has experience in OC Brian Schottenheimer's offense.

Fri Feb 22 201314:42Clemens not likely to return to Rams
Coach Jeff Fisher said if the Rams re-sign free agent QB Kellen Clemens, he'd be the third quarterback behind Austin Davis.
That likely means Clemens won't be returning to the Rams. Davis was signed as an undrafted free agent last season out of Southern Miss. He impressed many with his preseason work when he completed 22-of-34 passes for 220 yards.

Fri Aug 31 201221:51Rams surprisingly cut No. 2 QB Clemens
Rams waived or released QB Kellen Clemens, DT Cornell Banks, DEs Scott Smith and Jamaar Jarrett, LB Aaron Brown, TE Cory Harkey and G Jose Valdez.
Clemens was pegged as Sam Bradford's primary backup heading into camp, but will instead hit the open market after just one year in St. Louis. The Rams currently have only undrafted rookie Austin Davis behind Bradford, so they'll certainly be signing a veteran reserve in the next 48 hours. Clemens has attempted just 124 passes since 2007.

Tue Apr 17 201216:53Rams re-sign QB Kellen Clemens
Rams re-signed QB Kellen Clemens to a one-year contract.
Pulled off the scrap heap in early December, Clemens completed 52.7 percent of his passes at 6.0 yards per for a 73.8 passer rating in a trio of late-season starts. In his favor, he played under new OC Brian Schottenheimer with the Jets. If he sticks as the No. 2 quarterback, the Rams will have one of the most worrisome backup situations in the league.

Sun Dec 18 201116:41Kellen Clemens plays well in relief
Kellen Clemens completed 25-of-36 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown in St. Louis' Week 15 loss to the Bengals.
As the third Rams quarterback to start a game this season, Clemens also became the third to find himself constantly harassed behind a pathetic offensive line, rarely having time to set his feet. For being acquired only 11 days ago, however, he played well, doing damage on the run as he routinely stuck quick, short throws. With Sam Bradford expected to be shut down for the season, Clemens is worth a flier in two-QB leagues if you're absolutely desperate.

Fri Dec 16 201115:07Kellen Clemens expected to start Sunday
Kellen Clemens will likely be the Rams' starting quarterback in Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Sam Bradford (ankle) is doubtful and A.J. Feeley (thumb) is out. In his career, Clemens has completed 147-of-284 passes (51.8 percent) for 1,686 yards (5.9 YPA), five touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He's always had very poor pocket presence and accuracy, and will be squaring off with a Bengals defense that ranks sixth in the league in sacks. Downgrade the rest of the Rams' skill position players and upgrade Cincinnati's fantasy defense.

Sun Dec 11 201109:07Clemens capable of playing on short week
Rams coordinator Josh McDaniels said that Kellen Clemens is capable of getting up to speed enough before Monday Night's game to be able to run the offense even if it's a pared down version.
If Sam Bradford (ankle) is unable to go, Tom Brandstater will make his first career start, but could be on a short leash with Clemens reportedly turning in a good week. Bradford practiced on a limited basis Saturday and is officially questionable for Week 14.

Sat Dec 10 201112:23Spagnuolo 'thoroughly impressed' w/ Clemens
Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo was "thoroughly impressed" with waivers acquisition Kellen Clemens' practice on Friday.
Clemens was apparently able to step into the huddle and "(rattle) off the terminology" as he split first-team reps with Tom Brandstater. Brandstater should get the start on Monday if both Sam Bradford (ankle) and A.J. Feeley (thumb) are unable to go, but the Rams' refusal to officially rule out Bradford and Spagnuolo's praise of Clemens suggest Brandstater will be on a very short leash.
