Sun Oct 11 201511:49Rolle (ankle) inactive for Sunday's game against Chiefs
Rolle (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Rolle's unavailability doesn't register as a surprise after he was listed doubtful heading into the week with the ankle issue. The Bears haven't relayed a timetable for Rolle's return, so there's a decent possibility that he could miss further action beyond Sunday's game. Harold Jones-Quartey is expected to start at safety in Rolle's stead.

Rolle (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game in Kansas City, the Chicago Sun-Times reports
Rolle missed the entire week of practice, leaving undrafted rookie Harold Jones-Quartey as the likely starter for Sunday's game in Kansas City. Jones-Quartey could make for a decent temporary option in deeper IDP formats, as Rolle is on pace for 92 tackles, despite missing most of last week's game.
Thu Oct 8 201519:23Rolle (ankle) didn't practice Thursday
Rolle (ankle) didn't practice Thursday, the Bears' official site reports.
Rolle came out of Sunday's game with an ankle injury, but despite clean X-rays, he has yet to practice this week. If he's eventually ruled out, Harold Jones-Quartey is the logical candidate to fill in at strong safety.

X-rays on Rolle's foot came back clean after he was forced out of Sunday's win over the Raiders due to injury, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
It looks like Rolle avoided a serious injury after he left the locker room sporting a walking boot Sunday, but his status for this week's game against the Chiefs remains in some peril. Perhaps in anticipation of Rolle sitting out Sunday, the Bears signed Sherrod Martin on Tuesday to add depth to their safety ranks.

Rolle suffered an ankle injury Sunday and is out for the remainder of the game against the Raiders, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN reports.
A leader on the defense, Rolle has 15 tackles through three games this season. Harold Jones-Quartey will play in his place for the remainder of the game. The seriousness of the injury is still unknown.

Rolle collected a team-leading 10 tackles in the Bears' 26-0 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.
Seattle rookie Thomas Rawls ran roughshod over the Chicago defense in the game, creating plenty of opportunities for Rolle to make stops. Rolle has now made 20 tackles through the Bears' first three games, but the team needs him to produce turnovers at the back end in order to keep the 0-3 squad competitive.
Tue Sep 15 201512:50Rolle recorded six tackles in Bears' Week 1 loss to Packers
Rolle recorded six tackles in the Bears' Week 1 loss to the Packers.
Rolle looked to be a step slow during training camp and preseason games, but showed no egregious deficiencies in coverage, despite Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers completing 18 of his 23 passes on the afternoon. It's quite possible that Rolle will display a decline in range in his age-33 season, but that won't necessarily hinder his tackle production. Instead, it's more likely Rolle would see his turnover total decline after he produced nine interceptions and forced two fumbles in the past two seasons.
Mon Aug 31 201521:23Rolle made four stops in Saturday's preseason loss to Bengals
Rolle made four stops in Saturday's preseason loss to the Bengals.
The strong safety saw about a half of action and finished second on the team in tackles. After inking a three-year deal in the offseason, Rolle will be called upon to anchor a young and rather inexperienced secondary, and represents the Bears' top IDP option after recording over 87 tackles and at least one interception in each of the last five seasons.
Wed Mar 11 201522:58Rolle agreed to three-year
Rolle agreed to a three-year, $11.25 million contract with the Bears on Wednesday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Rolle, who tallied 87 tackles (71 solo) and three interceptions last season, will head to Chicago after spending the last five seasons with the Giants. He figures to take over the starting strong safety role in the Windy City.
Thu Apr 24 201408:59Antrel Rolle says he has four years left
Giants FS Antrel Rolle claims he has four "great" seasons left in him.
The Giants may not agree. Rolle is entering the final year of his contract, but there's been no talk about an extension. It's not a surprise considering he'll turn 32 in December. Rolle did play at a high level in 2013, grading out 10th among 86 qualifiers in Pro Football Focus' grades.

Mon Dec 30 201319:29Antrel Rolle open to extension with Giants
Giants FS Antrel Rolle said he's open to signing a contract extension with the team.
Rolle has one year left on his deal and is scheduled to count $9.25 million against the 2014 salary cap. The Giants have a ton of free agents and very little cap room. Extending Rolle could knock his cap number down and lock up a player that has performed well for the most part. There's also a chance the Giants could simply release Rolle. Stevie Brown would be cheaper to re-sign and should be healthy, and Will Hill emerged as a force on the back end.

Tue Aug 13 201315:35Antrel Rolle out with ankle issue
Giants FS Antrel Rolle is in a walking boot after suffering a "pretty good" ankle sprain on Monday, but is confident he'll be ready for Week 1.
Rolle had to be carted off, but supposedly avoided a high-ankle sprain. "I am going to do whatever it takes to make sure that is not even a possibility," Rolle said of missing Week 1. Ryan Mundy is filling in. Rolle has missed just one game over the past seven seasons.

Tue Feb 5 201320:43Antrel Rolle not a candidate for release?
ESPN New York does not consider Giants FS Antrel Rolle a candidate for release.
More specifically, beat writer Ohm Youngmisuk believes Rolle isn't "going anywhere." It's a bit surprising, as the 30-year-old Rolle is due a whopping $7 million coming off a sub-par campaign. With the Giants up against the salary cap, it's quite possible Rolle will at least be asked to restructure.

Tue Oct 9 201214:09Giants FS Rolle: Knee a 'lingering' issue
Giants FS Antrel Rolle characterized his Week 3 knee injury as a "lingering" issue.
Rolle suffered the injury when he slammed into a camera man on the sidelines in Carolina. "It's a battle," Rolle said. "It's a constant battle each and every day ... With this knee injury, it's going to take some time." Rolle expects to play in Week 6, but the Giants have depth concerns with Kenny Phillips (knee) out and CBs Corey Webster, Michael Coe and Jayron Hosley all battling hamstring injuries.

Giants FS Antrel Rolle (questionable, knee) "will play" against the Eagles in Week 4.
Head coach Tom Coughlin confirmed the news to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio. This was the expected decision all along, though. Rolle suffered a lacerated knee in Week 3 against the Panthers on Thursday Night Football.

Fri Sep 21 201218:18Antrel Rolle 'won't miss any time'
Giants FS Antrel Rolle (lacerated knee) "won't miss any time."
The word comes straight from coach Tom Coughlin. "(It's) just a bruise on top of my knee and a couple of lacerations, but it will be fine," Rolle said. Rolle has racked up 21 tackles through New York's first three games.
