Miller recorded one reception for a team-leading 21 yards in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks.
Yes, you read that correctly. With Jimmy Clausen making the start at quarterback for the injured Jay Cutler, the Bears were completely inept offensively, particularly in the passing game. Clausen would finish with just 63 yards through the air, with Miller's third-quarter reception amounting to the team's biggest play of the afternoon. Miller only saw one target to Martellus Bennett's five, so don't expect the backup tight end to see an increased role in the offense.

Miller snagged both of his targets and picked up 14 receiving yards in Sunday's loss to the Bears.
It was Miller's first NFL reception in a regular-season game since Oct. 2, 2011, when he was a member of the Jaguars. Miller sat out each of the last three seasons while dealing with an array of injuries, but the pass-catching ability he displayed in training camp earned him a spot as Martellus Bennett's top backup. The Bears should keep Miller active most weeks, but he'll generally struggle to see a high snap count behind the Pro Bowl tight end.
Mon Sep 7 201511:06Miller earned spot on Bears' 53-man roster
Miller earned a spot on the Bears' 53-man roster, the Chicago Tribune reports.
After Dante Rosario was released over the weekend, Miller is in line to serve as the top backup at tight end behind Martellus Bennett. Don't expect Miller to see much frequent time on the field, as Bennett profiles as a superior blocker and receiver.
Fri Feb 27 201513:43Zach Miller: Signs Extension With Bears
Miller signed a one-year extension with the Bears that will run through 2015, ESPN's Michael C. Wright reports.
Miller missed the entire 2014 season because of a foot injury, but he was previously expected to serve as Martellus Bennett's top backup. With Bennett under contract at a very reasonable price for 2015, Miller is unlikely to have a significant role in the passing game. He may even need to compete for a roster spot.
Fri Aug 15 201416:16Miller (foot) waived/injured by Bearss
Miller (foot) has been waived/injured by the Bearss, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The report notes that Miller will revert to IR if he clears waivers, with his subtraction from the mix leaving Dante Rosario, Matthew Mulligan and Jeron Mastrud to compete for backup TE slotting behind Martellus Bennett.

Miller is slated for an MRI on the foot that he injured in Thursday's preseason tilt, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
The report suggests that Miller likely sustained some ligament damage, and in such a scenario he'd be in line to miss some action. If so, Dante Rosario's slot as TE Martellus Bennett's top backup would likely be solidified.

Miller left Thursday's preseason game against the Jaguars with a foot injury and will not return.
The extent of the injury is uncertain, but consider Miller day-to-day until more information becomes available. While Miller did deal with some foot issues in 2009-10, his absence from the NFL the past two seasons can be attributed to other lower-body ailments. The 29-year-old hauled in six passes for 68 yards in the team's preseason opener but did not catch a pass prior to exiting Thursday.

Miller was spectacular in Friday's preseason opener against the Eagles, hauling in six passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
With starting tight end Martellus Bennett unavailable due to a team-imposed suspension, Miller shined in his stead, earning a large chunk of snaps with the first-team offense. Miller, a fifth-year pro who hasn't played an NFL game since the 2011 season, reeled in touchdown passes of 10 and 12 yards, with the latter effort especially impressive since the ball was poorly thrown by quarterback Jordan Palmer. Miller will still have to hold off Dante Rosario, Dante Rosario, Matthew Mulligan and Jeron Mastrud for a backup spot behind Bennett, but Friday's performance might put him in the driver's seat at this stage in training camp.

Fri Apr 13 201211:23Jaguars TE Miller cleared to return
Jaguars TE Zach Miller was cleared to practice two weeks ago after undergoing shoulder surgery in October.
This is the first we've heard that the injury required surgery. The former quarterback believes he's more ready to play tight end now than at any point in his career, but he acknowledges that the burden is on him to prove he can stay healthy for a full season. Miller won't be a fantasy factor behind Marcedes Lewis in 2012.

Jaguars placed TE Zach Miller (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Miller's career-long injury woes continue as his season ends with four catches for 42 yards with one touchdown in four games. Zach Miller caught three passes for 28 yards in a Week 2 loss against the Jets.
Miller drew the start with Marcedes Lewis sidelined and tied with Maurice Jones-Drew for second on the team in targets. He'll be relegated to backup duties in Week 3 if Lewis returns, and can safely be kept on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.

Sat Sep 17 201113:33Jags' Zach Miller expected to spell Lewis
Jaguars TE Zach Miller is expected to start in place of Marcedes Lewis (calf) against the Jets on Sunday.
Highly athletic, Miller has proven to be a respectable pass catcher the past two seasons, making 41 catches for 428 yards and three scores. He's obviously a far from ideal fill in for Lewis in fantasy leagues, but it wouldn't be the most surprising thing if he had a productive day against a Jets defense that let Dallas' Jason Witten make six catches for 110 yards a week ago.
