Thu Jun 26 201409:57Mike Goodson misses court, has money issues
Free agent RB Mike Goodson skipped his Thursday morning court appearance and will be arrested if he misses the next one.
Goodson couldn't get a flight out of Texas to New Jersey because he's having "financial issues." He was, of course, scheduled to appear in court on weapons charges and possession of marijuana. Goodson's football career may be at the end of the line. The Jets released him eight days ago.

Jets RB Mike Goodson did not report to mandatory minicamp Tuesday.

Wed Jun 4 201413:16Jets RB Mike Goodson not at OTAs
Jets RB Mike Goodson hasn't reported to OTAs.
Goodson is going to be released at some point. He's recovering from a torn ACL and MCL, and coach Rex Ryan has no idea where Goodson is at in his rehab because he simply hasn't reported to the team. We'd tentatively expect Goodson to be ready for training camp, though he may find it hard to find another team willing to give him a chance. Goodson was an off-field mess last summer.

Sat May 17 201410:27Goodson's time as a Jet likely over
New York Daily New's Manish Mehta believes RB Mike Goodson will not be a Jet when the 2014 season begins.
Goodson is expendable after the Jets added Chris Johnson in April and claimed RB Daryl Richardson off waivers in May. Goodson's one-year stint with the Jets has been tumultuous to say the least. Arrested on weapons charges and possession of marijuana just two months after signing a three-year deal with New York, Goodson only played two games for the Jets after serving a four-game suspension to begin the season and suffering a torn ACL and MCL to end it. Coming off a devastating injury and with a myriad of off-the-field woes, Goodson should find it difficult to find another NFL home.

Mon Apr 21 201414:05Mike Goodson out for the 'near future'
Jets RB Mike Goodson (ACL, MCL surgery) will be sidelined for the "near future," GM John Idzik stated Monday.
The Jets just begun their offseason conditioning program, and Goodson isn't available as he rehabs last October's knee injury. Goodson is not expected to be on the Jets' Week 1 roster following the team's acquisition of Chris Johnson.

Wed Apr 16 201416:15Mike Goodson may not be long for New York
Following the signing of Chris Johnson, Mike Goodson is expected to be released before the season.
Goodson is now the No. 4 running back in New York, behind Johnson, Chris Ivory, and Bilal Powell. Alex Green is currently the No. 5 back. Goodson's one-year tenure with the Jets has been an interesting one. He was popped on gun charges last offseason before tearing his ACL in October. He's still only 27.

Wed Apr 2 201420:43Mike Goodson returning to court Wednesday
Jets RB Mike Goodson will return to court Wednesday morning for a hearing on his two weapons charges stemming from Goodson's 2013 arrest.
A hearing is scheduled for May 19. Goodson was arrested two months after signing with the Jets when police found him and a buddy, both of whom "appeared intoxicated," stopped in the middle lane of Interstate 80. During a search, police discovered a gun with hollow-point bullets in the glove compartment. Goodson allegedly told police he owned the gun, but has since retracted. Goodwon was suspended the first four games of last season for substance abuse violations. Last year's transgression would fall under the personal conduct policy.

If convicted, Goodson could face up to ten years in prison. He had his arraignment in Morristown, N.J. on Wednesday morning. Goodson is under contract for $1 million with the Jets in 2014.

Goodson was indicted on second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon after he was found with a .45-caliber handgun loaded with an illegal hollow-point bullet known as a "cop killer" because it can penetrate body armor. Goodson faces a maximum of ten years in prison if convicted. The next step is an arraignment. Goodson is on injured reserve after he tore his ACL last month.

Tue Oct 15 201314:55Mike Goodson (ACL) officially sent to I.R.
Jets placed RB Mike Goodson on injured reserve with a torn left ACL, ending his season.
It's the second time in three seasons Goodson will finish the year on injured reserve. Talented but fragile, Goodson totaled 80 yards on nine touches after returning from his four-game suspension. Goodson is signed through 2015, but has no remaining guaranteed money. He will have to prove he's healthy next summer to keep his roster spot. Talent has never been the issue for the former fourth-round pick.

Jets RB Mike Goodson will go for an MRI on his injured knee Monday.

ESPN New York suggests Mike Goodson could be out "awhile" after a fourth-quarter knee injury in Week 6.

Jets RB Mike Goodson rushed four times for 29 yards and caught a ten-yard pass in Week 6 against the Steelers.
Goodson also suffered an injury of some sort, though it's unclear whether it was serious. Goodson operated as the Jets' primary change-of-pace back behind Bilal Powell, with Chris Ivory getting four carries off the bench. Goodson only has value as a talented stash in 12- and 14-team leagues.

Tue Oct 8 201308:59Mike Goodson plays 11 snaps in return
Making his Jets debut, Mike Goodson played on just 11-of-46 snaps in Monday night's win at Atlanta.
It felt like Goodson played more because he got three carries and two targets, lining up with Bilal Powell a few times. But the bottom line is he's part of a three-headed committee next to Powell and Chris Ivory. Goodson is going to need an injury to be a viable fantasy option.

Tue Oct 8 201300:37Goodson sees plenty of work in 2013 debut

Goodson was making his season debut after serving a four-game suspension. He operated as the third-down back and caught one pass for nine yards. Goodson had a long 26-yard run on a carry out of the Wildcat formation. All three of Goodson, Bilal Powell, and Chris Ivory will form a committee moving forward.

Sat Oct 5 201314:05Jets add RB Mike Goodson to active roster
The Jets have officially moved RB Mike Goodson to the active roster.
Goodson was limited in Friday's practice with a minor hamstring injury and there's some concern over whether he's in football shape coming off his four-game suspension. However, the Jets have decided not to use their one-week roster exemption and will activate him for Monday night against the Falcons. If Chris Ivory (hamstring) is held out, Goodson will likely see limited snaps behind Bilal Powell. The Jets also released WR Ryan Spadola and LB Ricky Sapp, and signed WR Michael Campbell from the practice squad in corresponding moves.

Fri Oct 4 201314:18Mike Goodson experiences tight hamstring
Jets RB Mike Goodson experienced "hamstring tightness" during Friday's practice, and was restricted to an exercise bike.
"I'm not overly concerned," coach Rex Ryan remarked after the workout. "I hope he plays." The Jets have yet to formally activate Goodson from the reserve/suspended list, something they'd likely do Saturday if they deem him ready to play against the Falcons. They do have a one-week exemption to use.
