Tue Apr 16 201313:16Naanee and Ajirotutu trying out for Cleveland
Free agent WRs Legedu Naanee and Seyi Ajirotutu will try out for the Browns this week.
They're participating in the Browns' voluntary workouts on a tryout basis. Both played for new Browns OC Norv Turner in San Diego. Naanee and Ajirotutu combined for just 196 snaps on offense last season, and are longshots to earn roster spots.

Tue Oct 9 201214:40Patriots work out WR Legedu Naanee
Patriots worked out free agent WR Legedu Naanee on Tuesday.
The work out reportedly went well, but no contract offer is forthcoming. Naanee will always look like an intriguing size/speed prospect in workouts, but his football skills and instincts are found wanting once the tape is turned on.

Tue Oct 2 201215:57Dolphins release WR Legedu Naanee
Dolphins released WR Legedu Naanee and DL Andre Fluellen and waived/injured LB Mike Rivera.
Naanee was hyped incessantly by one beat writer throughout training camp, but he's been arguably the least productive receiver in the NFL on a per-snap basis the past two seasons. He was targeted on a pair of Ryan Tannehill interceptions in Week 1 and produced a comical fumble at Arizona last week. Naanee simply isn't skilled enough to be an asset at wide receiver. Fluellen's release suggests DT Tony McDaniel (leg) is now healthy.

Thu Sep 13 201210:33Legedu Naanee saw just 27 snaps
Legedu Naanee played just 27 snaps in the Dolphins' Week 1 loss to the Texans.
Naanee isn't long for the starting gig and he knows it. "I haven't really been on the same page, in the flow of the game, really," Naanee said. "It's pretty evident that I need to make plays." Davone Bess and Brian Hartline are the top-two wideouts in Miami right now.

Sat Aug 25 201200:08Naanee struggles in 3rd preseason game
Legedu Naanee secured just one of his five targets in the Dolphins' third preseason game Friday night, gaining eight yards.
We've seen Naanee talked up by one South Florida media outlet in particular, but he's long been a thoroughly ineffective NFL receiver in actual games, and this preseason has been no different. The journeyman-caliber wideout has two catches for 20 yards on seven targets through three exhibition contests. The Dolphins aren't exactly setting up rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill for success.

Mon Aug 6 201212:24Legedu Naanee listed as a starter
Legedu Naanee is listed as a starting wideout on the Dolphins' first preseason depth chart.
Chad Johnson and Davone Bess are the listed as the other starters. It's not a surprise considering Brian Hartline (appendectomy, calf) has missed virtually all of the offseason program and training camp. Naanee, whose best asset is blocking, shouldn't be on fantasy owners' radar even if Hartline continues to sit.

Mon Jul 23 201209:04Legedu Naanee among Fins' top-4 wideouts
Legedu Naanee enters camp among the Dolphins' top-four wideouts.
Per the Miami Herald, Brian Hartline, Davone Bess, Chad Ochocinco and Naanee are on top of the depth chart for now. That leaves the likes of Roberto Wallace, Marlon Moore, Julius Pruitt and Clyde Gates battling for one or two roster spots. New head coach Joe Philbin reportedly "really likes" Naanee, but fantasy owners should be really low on the possession receiver/blocker.

Mon Apr 16 201218:09Dolphins host Legedu Naanee on Monday
The Dolphins hosted WR Legedu Naanee for a free agent visit on Monday.
Naanee was one of the least effective starting receivers in football last season with Carolina, eventually losing his job to Brandon LaFell. He'd add no more than a veteran, possession-type presence to a poor Miami receiver corps.

Mon Feb 13 201211:12Naanee unlikely to be high priority for Caro.
The Charlotte Observer doesn't expect the Panthers to make re-signing free agent Legedu Naanee more than a "medium" priority.

Fri Dec 30 201113:25Panthers place WR Naanee on I.R.
Panthers placed WR Legedu Naanee (broken foot) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Naanee is the 18th Jaguars player to go on I.R. this year, a franchise record. Appreciated more for his blocking ability than receiving, Naanee finishes the season with a career-high 44 receptions, 467 yards, and one touchdown. He's a free agent in 2012.

Mon Dec 26 201112:24Legedu Naanee has broken bone in foot
Panthers WR Legedu Naanee has been diagnosed with a broken foot, and is out for Week 17.
Naanee broke a "small bone" in Saturday's win. Although he'll be unable to play in Week 17, the Charlotte Observer does not expect Naanee to be sent to injured reserve. Dueling with Brandon LaFell for the Panthers' No. 2 receiver job all year, Naanee will finish with 44 catches for 467 yards. Although both totals are new career highs, they are disappointing for a player receiving the snaps Naanee did in an offense that took a giant step forward this season.

Sun Dec 4 201116:12Legedu Naanee hauls in first TD of season
Panthers WR Legedu Naanee caught two passes for 38 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 13 win over Tampa Bay.
He also completed a 27-yard throw to Cam Newton after a sort of inverted flea-flicker trick play. Naanee played behind Brandon LaFell (3-64), but they are canceling each other out for fantasy purposes. The touchdown was Naanee's first all season. He won't be a fantasy option in Week 14 against the Falcons.

Sun Nov 27 201111:54Legedu Naanee active for Panthers
Legedu Naanee (Achilles) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Beat writer Joe Person expects Brandon LaFell to get more snaps than usual at No. 2 receiver because Naanee is not at 100 percent. But with Naanee active, we can't project a full breakout for LaFell against the Colts' tiny secondary. The Panthers' inactives: QB Jimmy Clausen, WR Darvin Adams, T Lee Ziemba, DT Frank Kearse, LB Omar Gaither, LB Jason Phillips and CB Brandon Hogan.

Sat Nov 26 201119:21Legedu Naanee makes trip, still questionable
Legedu Naanee (Achilles) made the trip to Indianapolis for Sunday's game against the Colts, but is still questionable to play.
We're not optimistic about Naanee's chances of playing, and Brandon LaFell is shaping up as a sneaky high-upside WR3 play. LaFell stands at 6-foot-2 and 211 pounds, and the Colts have struggled with big wideouts all year.

Fri Nov 25 201113:31Legedu Naanee listed as questionable
Legedu Naanee (Achilles) is listed at questionable for Week 12, but Panthers coach Ron Rivera was not optimistic about his chances during Friday's post-practice press conference.
Naanee missed practice on both Thursday and Friday, which always bodes poorly for a player's Sunday availability. According to beat writer Joe Person, Rivera "made it sound like" Naanee is closer to doubtful than questionable. Should Naanee sit out against the Colts, Brandon LaFell would likely become an every-down receiver. LaFell goes 6-foot-2 1/2 and 211 pounds, and Indianapolis has struggled with big wideouts throughout the season.

Fri Nov 25 201108:56Naanee misses practice with tendinitis
Legedu Naanee was held out of practice Thursday due to Achilles tendinitis.
Coach Ron Rivera still expects Naanee to play Sunday against the Colts. It sounds like he was just resting in hopes that the soreness will subside. Naanee won't be a recommended fantasy option regardless.

Sun Nov 20 201118:27Naanee totals 41 yards in Week 11
Legedu Naanee caught three passes for 41 yards against the Lions in Week 11.
Naanee and Brandon LaFell (three catches, 51 yards) saw five targets apiece, splitting production opposite Steve Smith. Having topped 50 yards just twice all season, Naanee is unworthy of a roster spot heading into Week 12 against the Colts.
