Tue Jul 1 201410:35Free agent FB Leach hopes to latch on in camp
Free agent FB Vonta Leach hopes to sign with a team during training camp.
Leach was cut by the Ravens in February and hasn't generated an ounce of known interest, though Dolphins beat writer James Walker mentioned Miami as a possible destination months ago. Leach is entering his age-33 season and was phased out of the Ravens offense last season. He may be near the end of the line.

Fri Feb 28 201420:23Dolphins could show interest in Vonta Leach
ESPN.com's James Walker believes the Dolphins could show interest in free agent FB Vonta Leach.
Leach was linked to Miami last offseason before re-signing with Baltimore. The Dolphins were one of the worst run-blocking teams in the league in 2013 and don't currently have a fullback on their roster. Leach looked to be near the end of the line with the Ravens and should only require a veteran minimum contract.

Thu Feb 27 201415:09Ravens cut FB Leach, save $1.75 million
Ravens informed FB Vonta Leach of his release.
The move clears $1.75 million in salary-cap space. It's the second straight offseason Leach has been cut loose. Whereas Leach was coming off a strong year last season, his played slipped dramatically in 2013 as the Ravens' running game went in the tank. Now 32, Leach could be nearing the end of the battering-ram line. He's made 146 career appearances.

Wed Jan 1 201410:33Vonta Leach expected to be dumped
Ravens FB Vonta Leach is a candidate for release.
Leach is due $1.75 million in 2014 and would count $2.33 million against the cap. It's far too much for a lead blocker on a team going to more and more one-back sets. Leach played on just 45-of-436 snaps (10.3 percent) across the final five weeks of the season.

Fri Sep 6 201302:15Vonta Leach catches three passes in loss
Vonta Leach caught three passes for 12 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore's Week 1 loss to the Broncos.
Leach didn't notch a carry, but was a big part of the Ravens' screen game early on. We don't expect that to be a weekly occurrence.

Mon Jul 29 201317:29Ravens re-sign lead-blocking FB Vonta Leach
Ravens re-signed FB Vonta Leach to a two-year contract.
Leach, 31, received Pro Football Focus' highest grade in 2012 among fullbacks both overall and in terms of sheer run blocking. We can confirm he's still a hole clearer at the first and second levels after an intense review of Bernard Pierce's rookie tape. "Urgency" increased for Baltimore to re-sign Leach following Dennis Pitta's year-ending hip injury. The Ravens will now use rookie Kyle Juszcsyk as an H-back, where he can compensate for some of Pitta's production. We still envision GM Ozzie Newsome bringing in another wideout.

Mon Jul 29 201317:00Vonta Leach at Ravens facility on Monday
Free agent FB Vonta Leach was at the Ravens' facility on Monday "taking a physical and working out."
Although nothing has yet been confirmed, it appears Leach will be re-signing with the Ravens shortly. The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson reported earlier Monday the sides were "close" to a deal after negotiating over the weekend.

Sat Jul 27 201313:01Ravens, Vonta Leach remain in contract talks
Contract talks between the Ravens and free agent FB Vonta Leach have continued into the weekend.
Leach was initially expected to sign with a team on Friday. The Baltimore Sun confirms the Ravens "remain the frontrunner" to re-sign Leach, but the sides are still haggling over contract details. The Dolphins never evened offered Leach a deal. The Giants were offering Leach the veteran minimum base salary.

Thu Jul 25 201322:30Report: Ravens likely to re-sign Vonta Leach
The Newark Star-Ledger reports free agent Vonta Leach is expected to sign with a team on Friday, and is "leaning" toward re-upping with Baltimore.
The Ravens have had a standing offer out to Leach worth $2 million over one year, and it appears that's the best he can do on the open market. The Giants, Dolphins, and Texans also showed interest in Leach, but ostensibly none offered more than the veteran's minimum. Leach's return can't hurt Ray Rice's fantasy outlook. The 32-year-old is still a pile driver in the running game.

Wed Jul 24 201308:51Ravens still have some interest in Leach
The Ravens reportedly still have some interest in bringing free agent FB Vonta Leach back.
The Ravens aren't shutting the door on Leach's return as they wait to see how fourth-round rookie Kyle Juszczyk fares in his first NFL training camp. If the Harvard product shows well as expected, we wouldn't expect Baltimore to make Leach any kind of offer. The Dolphins and Giants have also shown interest in Leach.

Sun Jul 21 201312:03Dolphins not out of the running for Vonta Lea
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are "not completely out of the picture" to land free agent FB Vonta Leach.
Beat reporter Armando Salguero suggests the Fins may still "circle back to Leach" if they don't like what they see from Jorvorskie Lane and Charles Clay early in training camp. Leach has a standing one-year, $2 million offer to rejoin the Ravens. For Lamar Miller's fantasy sake, we're hoping Leach lands in Miami.

Sat Jul 20 201319:14Report: Giants have standing offer for Leach
The New York Post reports free agent FB Vonta Leach has a standing contract offer from the Giants.
With Henry Hynoski (knee) a candidate to open the season on the PUP list, the Giants remain interested in Leach and are believed to be offering a one-year deal for the veteran minimum. Leach, 32, has also been linked to the Texans and "hasn't ruled out" re-signing with the Ravens.

Fri Jul 19 201309:11Vonta Leach open to returning to Baltimore
Free agent FB Vonta Leach "hasn't ruled out" re-signing with the Ravens.
With the Dolphins reportedly out of the running for Leach's services, we'd imagine he "hasn't ruled out" anything. The Ravens released Leach in a cost-cutting move last month. Going on 32, Leach remained a high-end lead blocker last season.

Thu Jul 18 201318:16Dolphins to stand pat, won't sign FB Leach
The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins are "standing pat" and will not sign free agent FB Vonta Leach.
The Dolphins never made an offer to Leach, and they don't plan to do so before seeing how the options already on the roster perform in training camp. Per beat writer Armando Salguero, Miami will "circle back around" to Leach if the in-house options prove incapable and the fullback is still on the open market. With the Dolphins out of the picture, Leach may head back to Baltimore.

Tue Jul 16 201315:41Dolphins finally planning to speak w/ Leach
The Dolphins plan to speak with free agent FB Vonta Leach's player rep this week.
Talks were on hold for multiple weeks, thanks in part to GM Jeff Ireland's vacation. Ireland apparently needed a break from handing out contracts. Per reporter Barry Jackson, Leach is "hopeful" a deal can be reached, but may re-sign with the Ravens if the Dolphins are only offering one year. At this point, that appears to be the case.

Fri Jul 12 201312:39Report: 'No negotiations' between Miami/Leach
The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports there have "been no negotiations" between the Dolphins and free agent FB Vonta Leach.
The sides apparently haven't talked in multiple weeks despite the seemingly near constant updates on the situation. Per Salguero, talks are expected to "pick up" once GM Jeff Ireland returns from vacation. This is one stare down the Dolphins should actually win, as if Leach had a better offer, he would have already taken it.

Wed Jul 10 201316:41Giants still interested in Vonta Leach
The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Giants remain interested in free agent FB Vonta Leach.
The Dolphins remain the favorites for Leach's services, but the Giants are reportedly "still in the running." Leach should soon accept his market, and sign somewhere for near the veteran's minimum, likely Miami.

Tue Jul 9 201313:25Talks still 'ongoing' between Leach/Dolphins
Talks remain "ongoing" between the Dolphins and free agent FB Vonta Leach.
Per CBS' Jason La Canfora, the Dolphins remain "in the lead" for Leach's services. Leach - who turns 32 in November - is waiting for someone, anyone to offer more money than Miami, but it just isn't happening. He should be sporting aqua and orange soon enough.

Mon Jul 8 201322:05Report: Vonta Leach has offer from Ravens
The Miami Herald reports free agent FB Vonta Leach has a standing contract offer from the Ravens.
Per trusty Dolphins beat writer Armando Salguero, the Fins haven't yet made a "solid contract offer," though the two sides discussed "general parameters" weeks ago. The Ravens' offer to Leach is likely close to the minimum, and the 31-year-old wants to find more money. Leach reportedly "really likes" the idea of joining Miami, but it's all about the money -- as always.

Mon Jul 8 201321:09Vonta Leach not close to making a decision?
The Miami Herald intimates that it could be another couple of weeks before free agent FB Vonta Leach signs.
"Though he likes Miami, [Leach] has been waiting for a couple weeks to see if better offers surface," writes Barry Jackson. "The Dolphins remain the front-runner unless another team surprisingly wows him financially in the next two weeks." Miami is likely offering close to the veteran's minimum. Leach has been "expected to sign shortly" for weeks, so we're done holding our breath.
