Thu Jun 22 202315:17DJ LeMahieu Re-Enters Starting Lineup Thursday
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu is back in the starting lineup Thursday night against Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo. It's the first appearance for LeMahieu over the last four days and just the second since June 14, although no particular injury has been reported. Yankees skipper Aaron Boone recently said the veteran was just working on some things amidst a tough stretch at the plate. LeMahieu is hitting just .171 with a .537 OPS and .228 wOBA across 36 plate appearances in the month of June, walking in just one of those trips to the plate. His assignment will be tough on Thursday against an electric arm in Woo while LeMahieu will hit out of the leadoff spot in the series finale with Seattle.

Sat May 27 202318:42DJ LeMahieu Emerges From Cold Spell With Homer
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and a double to help the team beat the San Diego Padres 3-2 in extra innings on Saturday. The 34-year-old was hitting just .133 (4-for-30) with a lone RBI and no extra-base knocks over his last eight games before going deep in this one. That lack of power is not exactly characteristic of a typical cleanup batter, a role which LeMahieu has been handling regularly for the last month. Expect the contact hitter's spot in the lineup to alter in some way once slugger Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) comes off the injured list. LeMahieu admittedly owns a healthy 49.2% hard-hit rate overall, but at the cost of striking out (26.3% rate) more than he ever has in his career.

Tue May 9 202315:19DJ LeMahieu Sitting Against A's
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu is not in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics. LeMahieu is taking a normal day of rest in the second game of the series against Oakland. With the veteran starting on the bench, Oswaldo Cabrera will start at third base and hit seventh in the lineup against Athletics right-hander Drew Rucinski. Second baseman Gleyber Torres is in the cleanup spot for the Bombers on Tuesday. LeMahieu has been serving as New York's cleanup hitter of late and is hitting .278 (32-for-115) with seven doubles, a triple, four home runs, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored in 128 plate appearances and 32 games so far in 2023. The 34-year-old should be back in the starting lineup on Wednesday.

Thu Apr 20 202314:02DJ LeMahieu Batting Fifth Once Again Thursday
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu is in the starting lineup for Thursday's contest against the Los Angeles Angels. He's playing third base and batting fifth. It's LeMahieu's fourth start in a row from the five spot after beginning the season as the primary leadoff hitter. The 34-year-old is having a decent campaign thus far through 14 games, slashing .245/.322/.472 with a pair of long balls, 10 runs, and six RBI. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried about his new spot in the batting order with the Yankees potent offense, but it will likely affect his run production.

Fri Apr 14 202316:10DJ LeMahieu Expects To Be Full-Go Saturday
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (quadriceps), who remains out on Friday against the Minnesota Twins, expects to be full-go on Saturday. LeMahieu doesn't think his quad injury is at all related to his toe/foot injury from last year. The 34-year-old is out for a third straight contest on Friday, but it looks like he'll avoid the injured list and return on Saturday as the Yankees' leadoff hitter. LeMahieu is hitting .263 (10-for-38) with four doubles, a triple, a homer, three RBI and eight runs scored in his first 10 games, and he can provide solid counting stats for fantasy managers at the top of a potent lineup when he's healthy. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is at third base and batting ninth, while rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe continues to hit leadoff on Friday against Twins right-hander Louie Varland.

Wed Apr 12 202312:09DJ LeMahieu Day-To-Day With Quad Tightness
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (quadriceps) is dealing with quadriceps tightness and is day-to-day right now, according to manager Aaron Boone. As a result, LeMahieu is out of the lineup on Wednesday against the Cleveland Guardians. It doesn't sound like a serious injury, so the 34-year-old could be back soon for the Yanks and fantasy managers. The usual leadoff hitter for the team, he's currently hitting .263 (10-for-38) with four doubles, a triple, a home run, three RBI and eight runs scored in the first 10 games of 2023. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting at third and batting seventh on Wednesday against Guardians right-hander Peyton Battenfield, while rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe jumps up to the leadoff spot.

Sun Mar 26 202320:51DJ LeMahieu Named Opening Day Leadoff Man
After an injury-plagued 2022 campaign, New York Yankees utility infielder DJ LeMahieu was named the Opening Day leadoff man. After succumbing to a foot fracture midway through the season, LeMahieu struggled to stay healthy and never fully recovered from his foot injury. It caused him to miss a chunk of the second half, in which he received several cortisone shots in his foot. LeMahieu's presence was mostly missed in the Yankees' postseason run, in which the 34-year-old was forced to sit out due to his lingering foot injury. LeMahieu is now completely healthy for the 2023 season and the Yankees are expecting his bat to contribute heavily as he has done in recent years. In 2022, the California native slashed .261/.357/.377 with 12 HRs and 111 OPS+.

Mon Feb 20 202314:53DJ LeMahieu "100 Percent With No Limitations"
According to a tweet from Newsday's Erik Boland on Monday morning, New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) said he enters camp "100 percent with no limitations." Boland also noted in his tweet that the infielder was "limited much of last year by a toe injury." He'll be part of an infield group in New York that is also set to include the likes of Gleyber Torres, Anthony Rizzo, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Oswald Perazaand Josh Donaldson.

Tue Feb 7 202318:14DJ LeMahieu Looks Back To Old Self
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) has been hitting, running and working on defense as an offseason regular at the team's player development complex, and his bat speed and swing appear to be back to pre-injury levels, according to hitting coach Dillon Lawson. "Last year with the injury, he couldn't load the way he wanted to, couldn't stay on the back side when he was getting into the way he started rotating into impact. None of that is there now. He's, at minimum, back and maybe a tick beyond that." LeMahieu missed the end of last season, including the playoffs, but the 34-year-old avoided surgery and should be fully ready for the start of the 2023 season as the Yankees' top-of-the-order spark plug.

Sun Jan 29 202321:14DJ LeMahieu Ready For 2023
New York Yankees utility infielder DJ LeMahieu(toe) is reportedly ready for the 2023 season. According to Yankees hitting coach Don Lawson, LeMahieu is back to his old self. The 34-year-old opted not to undergo surgery on his toe and missed the Yankees' 2022 playoff campaign. Currently, LeMahieu is solely hitting off machines and coaches and is nearing live pitching. The California native slashed .261/.357/.337 across 541 plate appearances in 2022. He maintained a 13.1% strikeout rate and amassed a .734 OPS. The Yankees' playoff mishaps proved LeMahieu's value to the organization, and the lack of contact hitting was void. Despite opting not to undergo surgery on his toe during the offseason, LeMahieu is expected to be ready by the start of Spring Training.

Wed Jan 25 202320:29DJ LeMahieu Feeling Much Better
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) is feeling significantly better in the offseason, according to a person with knowledge of the team's personnel decisions. The 34-year-old has worked out at the team's facility in Tampa this offseason and hasn't had any setbacks. He decided against offseason surgery after consulting with several doctors. Before his toe became an everyday issue in 2022, LeMahieu was a dangerous hitter, but he finished with a .261/.357/.377 slash line, .734 OPS, 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs and four stolen bases in 125 games. It's unclear if he'll play every day at the beginning of the season, but if he's fully healthy, LeMahieu projects as the Yankees' regular second baseman and leadoff hitter, giving him plenty of fantasy value despite coming off injury.

Wed Oct 19 202214:56DJ LeMahieu, Andrew Benintendi Not On ALCS Roster
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) is among the players not on the team's roster for the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros. The 34-year-old hit .261 in the regular season, with a .357 on-base percentage, 12 home runs, and four stolen bases in 541 plate appearances. Other Yankees not on the team's roster for the Houston series include pitchers Ron Marinaccio, Lucas Luetge, and Aroldis Chapman, outfielders Andrew Benintendi and Aaron Hicks, and utility player Marwin Gonzalez.

Fri Oct 14 202211:41DJ LeMahieu Traveling To Cleveland
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) will travel with the team to Cleveland for the American League Division Series this weekend with the hopes of being activated if the team advances to the AL Championship Series next week. The Yankees say that he's dealing with a ligament injury to his right second toe, not a fracture. LeMahieu returned for the final series of the regular season, but he still wasn't 100 percent and was left off the roster for the ALDS. Getting him back would be a big boost for an already strong Yankees lineup. In 467 at-bats for the Yanks in 2022, the 34-year-old veteran infielder slashed .261/.357/.377 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs scored and four stolen bases in his 125 games. The three-time All-Star is an excellent catalyst at the top of their lineup when healthy.

Tue Oct 11 202211:28DJ LeMahieu Not On ALDS Roster
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) has been left off the roster for the American League Division Series against the Cleveland Guardians this week. LeMahieu returned from the injured list from a right toe injury at the tail end of the regular season, but apparently he's still not fully recovered from the injury. Instead, the Yankees will take infielder Matt Carpenter (foot), who hasn't played since Aug. 8 due to a fractured foot. LeMahieu could need offseason surgery on his toe, so he probably won't be an option for their roster if they advance to the AL Championship Series next week. In addition to Carpenter, Oswaldo Cabrera will be another infield option for the Yankees off the bench this week.

Fri Sep 30 202216:59DJ LeMahieu Starting At Third Base Friday
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday and is starting at third base and hitting fifth against the Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Jordan Lyles. It's a bit of a surprise that the 34-year-old is back in the lineup right away, and fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to play every game from now until the end of the regular season next week. LeMahieu will return to a .262/.358/.381 slash line with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs scored and four stolen bases in his 451 at-bats this season. In just three games played in September, he's gone 0-for-12 with a walk and a strikeout.

Wed Sep 28 202218:17DJ LeMahieu To Be Activated Friday
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) will be activated from the 10-day injured list to face the Baltimore Orioles on Friday, according to skipper Aaron Boone. With the Yankees clinching the American League East division on Tuesday night, the team is going to ease LeMahieu into action so that he's ready to go for their postseason run. It means that the 34-year-old might not play every day for the rest of the regular season. He'll be returning to a .262/.358/.381 slash line with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs scored and four stolen bases in his 523 plate appearances over 120 games. The three-time All-Star hasn't played in a big-league game since Sept. 4, so there could be some rust involved as well.

Tue Sep 27 202217:54DJ LeMahieu Could Return Wednesday
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) could be activated from the injured list on Wednesday, according to skipper Aaron Boone. The series against the Baltimore Orioles is a possibility, but Boone also said "we're about at that point of, let's go give this thing a go." LeMahieu hasn't played for the Yankees since Sept. 4, but it looks like the team will test him out to close out the regular season. He has been dealing with toe inflammation since the beginning of the month. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect the 34-year-old veteran to make much noise the rest of the way, especially since he's unlikely to be in the lineup every day. LeMahieu is batting .262/.358/.381 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs scored and four stolen bases in his 451 at-bats.

Fri Sep 16 202221:24DJ LeMahieu Takes Swings Friday
New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) tracked pitches and took some swings in the batting cage ahead of his team's game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. LeMahieu has been on the injured list since early September with a toe injury but his ability to ramp up baseball activities is a good sign. The veteran infielder is hitting .262 with 12 homers, 74 runs, 46 RBI, and four steals in 2022.
