Wed Jul 27 202211:53George Kirby Sharp In Return
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby was sharp in his return from the minor leagues Tuesday night, allowing no runs on two hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out four batters and was in line for the win before the bullpen gave up the lead. Kirby was not in the minors because of any kind of poor performance, as he's recorded a 3.50 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 66 strikeouts in 69 1/3 innings this year, but the Mariners are clearly aware of managing his innings, which could be an issue for fantasy managers as the year progresses.

Tue Jul 26 202216:02George Kirby Recalled Ahead Of Tuesday's Start
The Seattle Mariners have recalled right-hander George Kirby from Triple-A. He will be the team's starting pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Texas Rangers. To clear a roster spot for Kirby, the team optioned fellow right-hander Matt Brash to Triple-A. Kirby has had an up-and-down first tour of the majors this year. Across 12 starts, he's gone 2-3 with a 3.78 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. He's been hit hard on multiple occasions, but he's done a good job of limiting walks, as shown by his 6.9 K/BB ratio.

Wed Jul 20 202211:49George Kirby Expected To Join M's Rotation
Seattle Mariners rookie right-hander George Kirby is tentatively scheduled to start the team's fourth game of the second half of the season against the Texas Rangers next Monday. Left-hander Tommy Milone should now serve in a more traditional relief role to open the second half of the year. Kirby will make an abbreviated start for Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday before he rejoins Seattle's rotation on Monday. The M's are looking to limit the 24-year-old's innings this year, as he's already tossed 89 innings in the majors and minors in 2022. In his first 12 starts in the big leagues, Kirby has a decent 3.78 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 62 strikeouts and nine walks in 64 1/3 innings pitched.

Fri Jun 17 202212:03George Kirby Sharp In Loss Thursday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby took his second loss of the season Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels, but he performed well, allowing just two runs on six hits and a walk in six innings. He struck out six batters. The only mistake Kirby made was leaving a fastball down to Mike Trout in the third inning that Trout promptly deposited over the outfield fence for a two-run home run. Through eight starts, Kirby has a 3.56 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 41 strikeouts in 43 innings. He should be rostered in all keeper and dynasty formats, and is worth a look in good matchups for redraft.

Sun May 15 202200:35George Kirby Allows One Earned In No-Decision
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby came back to earth in his second career start on Saturday, allowing three runs in four innings in the no-decision. Only one of the runs was earned, however, as he surrendered three hits and a walk while striking out one in the 89-pitch performance. The 24-year-old held his own against a difficult lineup, so managers should come away from this game with a positive feeling despite not matching his seven-strikeout outing from last weekend. The Mariners will likely cap Kirby's innings and pitch count this season, but he should be rolled out in starting lineups for his next start versus the Red Sox.

Sat May 7 202213:30George Kirby Being Called Up By Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners are calling up top prospect starting pitcher, George Kirby. Kirby is a strong right-handed pitcher who has posted a 2.34 ERA with 137 strikeouts across 115 1/3 innings pitched in the minors. He is a must-add in all formats and should slot into the rotation for Matt Brash who was recently sent down to AAA. Kirby is expected to start Sunday vs. the Tampa Bay Rays, which offers the potential for a ton of strikeout upside.
