Mon Aug 1 202219:18Alex Bregman Placed On Paternity List
The Houston Astros placed third baseman Alex Bregman on the paternity list on Monday and recalled infielder Taylor Jones from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Bregman will be away from the team for up to three days to be with his wife, so fantasy managers need to act accordingly to begin the week. The 28-year-old finished the month of July slashing .242/.321/.455 with four home runs, 17 RBI and 14 runs scored in 26 games, and he's now hitting .242 on the year with 13 home runs, 55 RBI and 53 runs scored in 420 plate appearances. Aledmys Diaz is starting at third base and hitting cleanup on Monday against Boston Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Diaz finished the month of July on a tear, going 12-for-36 (.333) with three home runs and four RBI in 10 games.

Thu Jul 21 202222:21Alex Bregman Collects Four Hits During Thursday's Doubleheader
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman had two multi-hit games on Thursday, finishing 2-for-4 in both games of the doubleheader against the New York Yankees. He went deep once, scored twice, and collected three RBI. The day brought Bregman's line to .245/.359/.420, and he has 12 HRs, 48 runs, and 49 RBI over 90 games. Although it hasn't happened, fantasy managers were hoping for a bounce back in the power department after he hit just 12 HRs in 91 games during 2021. Also, Bregman's batting average has nosedived from .270 a season ago. The 28-year-old's playable in every league because of his volume, but he isn't the star he once was.

Sat Jun 4 202213:32Alex Bregman Returns To The Lineup On Saturday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is back in the lineup on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals. After receiving a routine day off, the 28-year-old did not appear in Friday's series opener. Bregman has really scuffled at the plate over the last month and is hitting a paltry .189/.317/.283 with one home run and six RBI over his last 14 games. Overall, he's slashing .221/.341/.390 with six home runs and 28 RBI (172 at-bats). Saturday's contest could serve as a get-right spot for the third baseman as the Astros face lefty Kris Bubic, who has a poor 12.83 ERA across five starts this season.

Fri Jun 3 202218:54Alex Bregman Getting A Day Off Friday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman will be on the bench for Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. According to manager Dusty Baker, this was a planned day of rest for Bregman, who has started the last 13 games for Houston. The 28-year-old has been struggling a bit at the dish recently, going hitless in his last four games and homering only once in his last 20 games. Bregman's track record suggests that he will be fine, and there is no need for fantasy managers to panic yet.

Thu May 12 202223:44Alex Bregman Takes An 0-For-5 In Thursday's Second Game
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman had a poor showing in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader, failing to get a hit in five at-bats, which dropped his batting average to .245. However, Bregman was impressive in the earlier game, going 2-for-4 with a walk and a double. Over 32 games this season, the 28-year-old has five home runs, 20 RBI, 18 runs, and no stolen bases. Fantasy managers can count on big contributions in the counting stats, but he hasn't stolen 10 bases in a season since 2018 and doesn't have the same power as earlier in his career.

Sat Apr 16 202210:37Alex Bregman Awarded AL Player Of The Week
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman earned the first American League Player of the Week award of the 2022 season after hitting .429 (6-for-14) with two home runs, six RBI, four runs scored and a 1.286 OPS while striking out just once in the first four games of the season. After an injury shortened 2021 season limited him to just 91 games, Bregman is fully healthy and off to a great start to the 2022 season. His hot start is validated by his .565 xSLG and elite 15% barrel rate. While the Astros will likely sit him out periodically throughout the season in hopes of keeping him healthy, he is a must-start when in the lineup.

Sun Apr 3 202211:45Alex Bregman Slashing .278/.316/.444 In Spring
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman has played in six games this spring and seen 19 plate appearances. Over those six games, he's slashing .278/.316/.444 with three extra-base hits (all doubles). The 28-year-old was limited to 91 games last year, primarily due to a left quadriceps strain. He wasn't his usual self when on the field last year as he posted a career-low .777 OPS, hitting just 12 home runs and batting .270. His down year has led to him dropping significantly on draft boards this fall. He's currently ranked 95th overall by RotoBaller. He's just two years removed from a dominant 2019 season where he slashed .296/.423/.592 with 41 home runs, 112 RBI and 122 runs, so he certainly has the ability to be a steal at his current draft spot.

Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is hitting third for Game 1 of the World Series against the Braves. Bregman has been clutch, hitting .429 with runners in scoring position, but has only two extra-base hits through 39 postseason at-bats. Bregman's quad injury that shelved him for months during the regular season has taken away his power during the playoffs but is a strong DFS play Tuesday and is 7-for-19 (.368) through five playoff games at Minute Maid Park.

The Red Sox will send left-handed starter Chris Sale to the mound for Game 5 and Bregman hit .300 against lefties through 120 at-bats in the regular season. Bregman's power may be compromised at this time but still is a dangerous hitter at the plate heading into Game 5.

Alex Bregman, Yuli Gurriel and Yordan Alvarez are all out of the starting lineup for the game. Aledmys Diaz is covering third base with Marwin Gonzalez at first base and Jake Meyers at designated hitter. Gurriel, who is hitting .318 this year, will likely take the AL Batting Crown. He has a small lead on his teammate Michael Brantley, who is hitting .313 and playing on Sunday. Brantley is unlikely to surpass Gurriel on Sunday without Gurriel's average dropping.

Wed Sep 8 202113:51Alex Bregman Not In Wednesday's Lineup
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is absent from Wednesday's lineup against the Seattle Mariners, according to MLB.com. Marwin Gonzalez will play third and bat eighth in his spot. It's just a breather for Bregman, who's started at third base five consecutive days. He's having a productive yet unspectacular year at the plate, slashing .288/.369/.435 with eight home runs over 70 games. He's a solid player in OBP leagues but leaves a lot to be desired concerning his power. Fantasy managers should change their lineups accordingly and stay away from Gonzalez, who's hitting just .202 with a .564 OPS.
