Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (knee) could miss Sunday's game against the A's after getting treatment on his left knee following Saturday's win over Oakland. The 32-year-old crashed into the tarp during Saturday's victory and was getting treatment on his left knee after the game. Rendon's knee issue is not considered severe. He went 0-for-3 with an RBI before being pulled from Saturday's game for precautionary reasons. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday to see if Rendon is in the lineup before inserting him into their starting lineups. David Fletcher will start at third base if Rendon misses Sunday's contest and is mainly an option in AL-Only or deep-league formats.

Houston Astros right-hander Hector Neris allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out two across 1 1/3 innings to pick up the save in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Chicago White Sox. Astros closer Ryan Pressly (illness) was under the weather and unavailable for Saturday's game. Chicago scored a run off Neris through an RBI single by Eloy Jimenez. The 33-year-old shook it off and struck out Yoan Moncada in the ninth frame to seal the win. Pressly is expected to return to the mound soon, while Neris will return to his usual setup role. Neris is mainly worth rostering in leagues that account for the category saves and holds.

Minnesota Twins right-hander Jorge Lopez picked up a save in a 2-0 win over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. Lopez fired a scoreless ninth inning while striking out one, needing just eight pitches to send KC down in order. The Twins utilized Jhoan Duran in the ninth inning on Opening Day back on Thursday but Duran reportedly felt stiff on Saturday after sleeping "weirdly". The Twins opted to give Duran the day off, paving the way for Lopez to see his first save chance of the young season. Duran should see the majority of the save chances in Minnesota but Lopez could also work into the mix throughout the year. Duran remains the reliever to roster in fantasy.

Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe (toe) was pulled from Saturday's meeting with the Tigers because of a right great toe injury. Although it's being reported the 28-year-old has a contusion, he'll likely undergo some testing. However, Lowe may avoid a trip to the injured list if that's all it is. Nevertheless, he would finish with one hit and a walk before being replaced by Isaac Paredes, who may be in line for more work moving ahead.

Houston Astros Closer Ryan Pressly (illness) is "under the weather," according to manager Dusty Baker. The skipper reported the 34-year-old was unavailable for Friday or Saturday's wins over the White Sox, resulting in Rafael Montero and Hector Neris each picking up saves. The Astros will cap off the four-game series with Chicago on Sunday before heading home to begin a three-game homestand against Detroit on Monday. However, it's anyone's guess when Pressly will return.

Seattle Mariners catcher Tom Murphy will start and bat eighth on Saturday against Cleveland. Cal Raleigh was behind home plate the last two games and collected two hits and two RBI in eight at-bats. However, he won't be in the starting lineup for this one, although he'll presumably return on Sunday to cap off the series with the Guardians. Of course, Murphy will have a tough time filling the void left by Raleigh, so fantasy managers should look for another catcher on Saturday evening.

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Bradish is scheduled to make his season debut against the Texas Rangers on Monday. He'll be the team's fourth starter with Tyler Wells getting the nod as the fifth starter on Tuesday. Bradish was hit-or-miss during his outings in spring training. He does have the stuff to succeed in the MLB, but hasn't quite put it all together yet. That being said, fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach here. Bradish is probably worth avoiding during his season debut against a tough Rangers lineup.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kyle Lewis is set to bat leadoff against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday. He'll serve as the designated hitter versus left-hander Clayton Kershaw. Lewis is off to a hot start to the season after hitting a go-ahead two-run home run during Friday's contest. The former Rookie of the Year was acquired by the Diamondbacks earlier this offseason. He's expected to be a key piece to this team, assuming he can stay healthy.

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Robbie Ray (hip) has been placed on the 15-day injured list. This is bad news after Ray struggled during his season debut. The left-hander allowed five runs (three earned) with four hits and five walks allowed on Friday. As of now, the Mariners haven't announced how long Ray is going to be sidelined. In the meantime, they've recalled left-hander Gabe Speier from Triple-A. However, he's expected to pitch out of the bullpen until the Mariners figure out how to fill their void in the starting rotation. This is obviously a blow to fantasy managers who took Ray early in drafts.

According to manager Gabe Kapler, San Francisco Giants outfielder Mitch Haniger (oblique) will be re-evaluated next weekend. The veteran began the season on the 10-day injured list because of an oblique strain. However, Kapler hopes to have him back after "a week of games." Haniger signed a three-year, $43.5 million deal in the offseason after spending the last five years in Seattle. He finished the 2022 campaign with a .246/.308/.429 slash line, 34 RBI, and 11 home runs (65 strikeouts). Blake Sabol should see more action in the outfield until Haniger can return, with the 25-year-old going without a hit in the opening-day loss to the New York Yankees.

New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (lat) started some light throwing on Friday and made it through with no issues, per manager Aaron Boone. He threw again on Saturday and will continue to ramp up his throwing program, barring any setbacks. Severino had a low-grade right lat strain towards the end of spring training and was placed on the 15-day injured list back on March 30, retroactive to March 27. There's still no timetable for his return and the Yankees will be cautious with the oft-injured 29-year-old. Fantasy managers should continue to keep tabs on him.

Atlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy is absent from the lineup on Saturday against the Washington Nationals. Travis d'Arnaud is sliding in behind the plate while Marcell Ozuna shifts from left field to designated hitter. Murphy went 0-for-5 in his Braves' debut on Thursday but he should be back behind the dish on Sunday for the series finale against the Nats.

Toronto Blue Jays utility man Whit Merrifield is not in the lineup on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Merrifield drew the start on Opening Day at second base but is taking a seat on Saturday vs. Jack Flaherty and the Cardinals. Cavan Biggio is manning the keystone while Daulton Varsho, George Springer, and Kevin Kiermaier man the outfield. Brandon Belt is filling at designated hitter for Toronto.

Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, run scored and two strikeouts in the team's 9-4 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Friday night in the second game of the season. It was nice to see Rodriguez get into the hit column after he went hitless on Opening Day on Thursday. The 22-year-old reigning American League Rookie of the Year was a high fantasy draft pick for a good reason, as there simply isn't much he can't do on a baseball field. If he can stay healthy in 2023, J-Rod has a realistic chance to finish as the most valuable fantasy hitter. Keep him in starting lineups each and every day.

Boston Red Sox right-hander Garrett Whitlock (hip) made a minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Worcester on Friday and allowed one run on six hits while walking one and striking out six over four innings of work. The Red Sox slow played Whitlock in spring training after he had surgery on his hip last September. The 26-year-old will make another minor-league rehab start, but then after that he's expected to come off the injured list and make his 2023 debut on April 11 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Whitlock has pitched in both a relief and starting role for the BoSox, but they want him to be a full-time starter this year. He's an attractive up-and-coming pitcher in mixed fantasy leagues, but workload restrictions could cap his ceiling in 2023.

Kansas City Royals second baseman Michael Massey is not in the starting lineup on Saturday for the team's second game of the season against the Minnesota Twins. Instead, Nicky Lopez will man the keystone and hit ninth against Twins right-hander Sonny Gray. Massey started at second and hit sixth in the Opening Day lineup on Thursday, but he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and now finds himself on the bench. The 25-year-old made his major-league debut last year and slashed .243/.307/.376 with four home runs, 17 RBI and three stolen bases in 52 games for the Royals. Massey has some pop in his bat, but his fantasy ceiling is limited in KC in just his first full MLB season, especially if he won't be playing every day.

Colorado Rockies' No. 17 prospect Nolan Jones had a big night in Triple-A on Friday. Jones smashed a pair of two-run homers for Albuquerque, making him the first player to hit two Opening Day homers for the Isotopes. Jones is a former top prospect for the Cleveland Guardians, hitting .244 with two homers and 13 RBI across 86 MLB at-bats for the team in 2022. Cleveland traded Jones to the Rockies in November for shortstop Juan Brito. Jones is worth keeping tabs on in deeper dynasty leagues in case he gets called up to join Colorado at some point during the season.

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan turned in a big night at the plate in a 9-4 win over the Seattle Mariners on Friday. A night after Cleveland was shut out on Opening Day, Kwan led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and five RBI in the win. Kwan plated his first run with a sacrifice fly in the second inning. He then tacked on a two-run double in the fourth and a two-run single in the fifth. The outfielder finished third in AL Rookie of the Year voting in 2022 and appears primed to keep it going in his sophomore campaign. He will face off against Seattle right-hander Logan Gilbert on Saturday and will be a solid fantasy option across the board for that matchup.

Miami Marlins left-handed reliever A.J. Puk picked up his first save of the season in Friday's 2-1 win over the division-rival New York Mets. Dylan Floro worked a scoreless eighth inning for the hold, and manager Skip Schumaker decided to call on Puk for the save in a 2-0 ballgame in the ninth inning. The 27-year-old southpaw allowed a solo home run while walking none and striking out two to help the team hold on for the win. Puk is certainly worth a pickup for those searching for saves, but this could be a closer-by-committee situation in Miami between Puk, Floro and Tanner Scott. It could easily be one of Floro or Scott that gets the nod in the team's next save situation.

The Seattle Mariners acquired outfielder Nick Solak from the Cincinnati Reds on Friday in exchange for cash considerations. The move comes after the Reds designated Solak for assignment on Thursday, and he'll report to Triple-A Tacoma to begin the 2023 season. The 28-year-old former second-rounder of the New York Yankees in 2016 hit a combined .252/.327/.372 with a .700 OPS, 21 home runs, 93 RBI, 117 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 253 games played in his four seasons for the Texas Rangers coming into this season. It could be difficult for Solak to find his way onto a much-improved Seattle big-league roster, so for now, he's only worth stashing in deep AL-only leagues.
