Fuld is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

With the A's facing left-handed C.C. Sabathia, it's unsurprising to see Fuld out of the lineup for the first time since May 20. He only has nine at-bats against lefties this season, but he did start Tuesday's game against Tigers southpaw David Price.

Fuld is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

For a second straight game, the A's are going with Mark Canha in left field and Billy Burns in center. With Coco Crisp (elbow) nearing a return from the disabled list, Fuld may soon be in danger of losing his spot on the 25-man roster. The decision will likely come down to Burns vs. Fuld.

Fuld is not in the lineup Monday against the Twins.

Fuld had another tough day at the plate Sunday as he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout to drop his average to .216, and will get his second day off in the last three games. With the promotion of Billy Burns, who will get the start in center field Monday, Fuld could see a decrease in his regular playing time.

Fuld is back in the lineup Sunday against the Rangers.

Fuld will get the starting nod in left field, with Mark Canha moving to the DH spot and Billy Butler getting the day off. He typically resides in center, but manager Bob Melvin will elect to start Billy Burns there for the second straight game. Fuld, who is in the midst of a 1-for-25 slump, will look to shake that off against Yovani Gallardo and the Rangers.

Fresh from the minor leagues, Billy Burns will get the start in center field Saturday. It's not clear how long Burns will be up for, but the A's now have a pretty crowded outfield that could start to result in more off days for Fuld.

Fuld, who is batting .315/.377/.519 against right-handers so far, has logged just four at-bats against lefties. He and Gentry figure to continue in their strict center-field platoon.

Fuld is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Fuld recorded just one hit over his last four games, so he will get a well-timed night off Tuesday, particularly with the A's facing left-handed pitcher Hector Santiago on Tuesday. Craig Gentry will get the start in center field in Fuld's place.

Fuld is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals.

Fuld has started 10 of the first 12 games of the year for the Athletics, but will take a seat in favor of Craig Gentry. This is a typical move by manager Bob Melvin when a lefty is on the hill, and Sunday will be no different with southpaw Danny Duffy toeing the rubber for the Royals.

Fuld, who missed Saturday's game, continued his hot start to the season Tuesday, making four appearances at the plate and recording two hits, both doubles, and a run.

Fuld has played in eight games this season and has at least one hit in six of them, including two triples and four doubles. For the very young season, he's getting on base 42.9 percent of the time and is slugging .625.

Fuld is returning to the lineup Sunday.

Fuld was pulled from the starting lineup on Saturday when a left-handed pitcher was on the mound. He is in the lineup today because the A's are facing a right-handed pitcher.

Fuld went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 12-0 victory over Seattle and now has three multi-hit efforts in the team's first four games to begin the season. With a lefty in J.A. Happ toeing the rubber for the Mariners on Saturday, manager Bob Melvin will turn to Craig Gentry to man center field and lead off, but Fuld should be in there whenever the A's face a right-hander.

Fuld led off on Friday night and had three hits and two runs scored.

Fuld has had a nice start to the season, hitting .412 through the A's first five games. Once Josh Reddick returns, Fuld should slide into a pretty strict platoon in center field with Craig Gentry.

Fuld is out of the lineup Wednesday.

With a lefty (Ross Detwiler) on the mound for Texas, the A's are going with a righy-heavy lineup. Following the Cody Ross signing Wednesday, Fuld will probably only play against right-handed pitchers, and possibly less often than that once Coco Crisp is healthy.

Fuld will get some at-bats in the leadoff spot while Coco Crisp is on the DL, reports Jimmy Durkin of the San Jose Mercury News.

Fuld was slated to platoon with Craig Gentry and hit at the bottom of the order, but now will get some at-bats in the leadoff spot. He will still likely sit against all lefties. Fuld struggled in 2014, hitting only .239 over 351 at-bats, but could be a source of steals in deeper leagues while Crisp is out.

Fuld (jaw) is slated to play in Tuesday's Cactus League contest, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Fuld only needed a couple days off to recover from the shot to the jaw he took Friday. He's in line to open the season as a reserve outfielder for the A's.

As a left-handed hitter, Fuld is on the strong side of the platoon, but will need to improve upon his .210 average from 2014 to stick in the lineup agaisnt all righties. If he can hit enough to stay in the platoon, his steals could have some value in deeper leagues as he swiped eight bags in only 157 at-bats in 2014.

Fuld agreed to a one-year contract with the A's on Friday, avoiding arbitration, reports Jane Lee of MLB.com.

Fuld will likely platoon with Craig Gentry and get at-bats when the A's face right-handed starters. After hitting .274 in 164 at-bats with the Twins, he only hit .209 after being traded to the A's at the trade deadline. Fuld does bring some speed (21 steals in 2014) and a lot of defense to the table which will enable him to keep earning playing time.
