Jackson (illness) returned to practice Friday, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.

As expected, Jackson's illness did not keep him out for long, and we anticipate he will receive a "probable" designation for Sunday's game against the Browns when the Falcons release their official injury report after practice.

Jackson missed Thursday's practice due to an illness, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

A bug is currently moving about the Falcons' roster, as Jackson joins Julio Jones on the injury report with an illness. Jackson has handled the bulk of the RB workload of late, notching 51 carries for 182 yards and two touchdowns over the last three contests. If he's unable to fend off the malady in time for Sunday's game against the Browns, rookie Davonta Freeman is the logical option to pick up carries in Jackson's stead.

Jackson had 17 carries for 41 yards and caught 2-of-3 targets for six yards in Sunday's 19-17 win at Carolina.

Jackson once again led the Falcons in rushing, all though it was a very unimpressive performance this week. He was coming off of his two most productive games of the season, and since the Panthers haven't been great against the rush this season, it was certainly a very disappointing outcome. Next week, Jackson will face a Browns' defense that hasn't been able to stop the run this year.

Jackson had 16 carries for 81 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as two catches on two targets for 14 receiving yards Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Despite all four active running backs getting touches, Jackson continues to lead the backfield while scoring a touchdown for the second consecutive game. He's playing his best football of the season and will next face off against a Panthers defense allowing the seventh-most rushing yards per game this season, while also allowing the third-most rushing touchdowns.

Jackson finished Sunday's game against the Lions with 18 carries for 60 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Jackson set a season-high with 18 rushing attempts Sunday, when he also found the end zone for the third time on the year. Facing a stout Lions' front-seven, Jackson managed just 3.3 yards per carry, but a high volume of touches allowed him to reach the 60-yard plateau for the first time this season. On the whole, Jackson put together his second-best fantasy outing through eight games, an encouraging development heading into Atlanta's bye week.

Jackson had eight carries for 22 yards in Sunday's 29-7 loss at Baltimore. He caught one pass for three yards.

The entire Falcons' offense struggled to generate much, and they trailed 17-0 at halftime, limiting Jackson's opportunities in the running game. He once again led the team in rushing attempts, although the presence of rookie Devonta Freeman, speedster Antone Smith and reliable Jacquizz Rodgers limits Jackson's upside.

Jackson had six carries for 25 yards in Sunday's loss to Chicago. He had two targets as a pass catcher, but did not record a reception.

Atlanta didn't have the ball much Sunday, so Jackson's opportunities were limited. Meanwhile, Antone Smith made another big play, scoring on a 41-yard touchdown in the third quarter. The Falcons seem content to give Jackson most of the work in the backfield, but that could change if the offense continues to struggle, not that he's necessarily the cause of their issues.

Jackson had 13 carries for 37 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as five catches on six targets for 37 receiving yards Sunday against the Giants.

Jackson's touchdown, his second in the last three games, came on a 10-yard run in the first quarter, and he did little for fantasy owners after that. He continues to get a majority of the touches out of the backfield, even with Devonta Freeman netting 38 rushing yards on four carries and Antone Smith scoring his fourth touchdown of the season on a 74-yard pass play in the third quarter Sunday. Both players seem to have more upside on a per-play basis, but the Falcons seem content with Jackson's plodding production, as he's now seen his yards-per-carry decline in each game this season from 4.3 in Week 1 to 2.8 in Week 5.

Jackson carried the ball 13 times for 49 yards and caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's loss at Minnesota.

Jackson was once again held in check on the ground, although he easily led Atlanta's backfield in carries. On a negative note for Jackson owners, Antone Smith once again made a big play, running for 48-yard touchdown. While Jackson is the clear-cut starter, Smith's explosiveness might force Atlanta to start using him a little more in the future.

Jackson had 14 carries for 54 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 56-14 win over the Buccaneers.

Jackson would normally get most of the carries with Atlanta protecting a lead, but the Falcons were ahead by so much that they pulled their starters in the third quarter. Jackson still got a team-high 14 totes, and he showed impressive determination on a two-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Antone Smith played well in garbage time, but none of the Atlanta running backs besides Jackson did much in the first half. Though he's still losing some snaps and touches to the guys behind him, Jackson remains the clear-cut top dog in the Atlanta backfield.

Jackson had 11 carries for 46 rushing yards and one catch on one target for seven receiving yards Sunday against the Bengals.

The Falcons' offense really struggled Sunday and quarterback Matt Ryan was forced to throw 44 times versus the 19 total rushing attempts the team had (16 without Ryan's three). The good news for Jackson's fantasy owners is that he continues to dominate the touches out of the backfield, as Jacquizz Rodgers had only five carries and Davonte Freeman didn't even have one. Up next is a Week 3 matchup against the Bucs, who allowed 119 rushing yards to the Rams in Week 2.

Jackson (hamstring) had 12 carries for 52 yards in Sunday's thrilling 37-34 overtime win against New Orleans. He also had just one catch (three targets) for zero yards.

Jackson led the team in rushing attempts and yards, but saw Jacquizz Rodgers and Antone Smith each score a touchdown. Even rookie Davonta Freeman made some key plays, touching the ball four times for 33 yards. Expect Jackson to lead the ground attack most of the time, but it looks like Atlanta's running back situation is going to be a headache for fantasy owners, as each of the top four runners bring something different to the table. On a positive note, the hamstring injury that dogged Jackson for most of the preseason didn't seem to be a hindrance Sunday.

Jackson (hamstring) wasn't listed on the Falcons' injury report Wednesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Coach Mike Smith has deemed his squad "healthy," which includes Jackson and his recovered hamstring. After missing the entire preseason slate due to injury, there may be some rust evident initially, but Sunday's opponent, the Saints, ranked fifth-worst by allowing 4.6 YPC last season. Thus, there's a decent bet that the occasional seam opens for the veteran back.

Jackson (hamstring) stated that he's in line to start Sunday against the Saints, the Falcons' official site reports. "I'm extremely excited for Week 1," he said. "It's been a training camp that I missed the majority of the time, but I've been working hard physically and mentally to prepare for this coming Sunday."

Early in training camp, Jackson suffered an injury to his left hamstring, which wiped away his presence from all four exhibitions. The fact that he was in uniform for the preseason finale was encouraging for his availability in Week 1, but his enthusiasm for the opener against a division rival can't be ignored. The release of Wednesday's injury report should confirm (or deny) his status.

Jackson (hamstring) didn't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Jaguars, the Associated Press reports.

Though Jackson, who is bouncing back from a hamstring injury, was in uniform for the game, he didn't play. The same applies to key Falcons such as Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Julio Jones and Harry Douglas. We'll track Jackson's status in practice next week, but the veteran back is thought to be on track to be available to the team in Week 1.

It remains to be seen how much, if any, action Jackson sees Thursday, but that fact that he's in uniform after having returned to practice this week is a positive indicator with regard to his potential Week 1 status.

Jackson (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Jackson has been sidelined since injuring his right hamstring back on July 29th. However, following an increase in his rehab last week, the veteran running back was finally able to re-join his teammates for the final week of preseason practice. Although Falcons' coach Mike Smith hasn't ruled Jackson out for Thursday's last exhibition outing, it wouldn't be surprising if the 31-year-old took another advantage of another rest opportunity. No matter, Jackson figures to be ready by Atlanta's Week 1 opener, which could result in him sharing touches with Jacquizz Rodgers and rookie Devonte Freeman out of the Falcons' backfield.

Coach Mike Smith expects Jackson (hamstring) to be ready for the Falcons' regular season opener, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Meanwhile, Jackson did some work off to the side Wednesday, but at this stage, there is still no timetable for the running back's return to practice, despite continued optimism with regard to his Week 1 status.

While prospective fantasy owners would no doubt like to see Jackson get back into the practice groove sooner rather than later, in an article posted Monday projecting the Falcons' 53-man roster to start the season, ESPN's Vaughn McClure suggested encouragingly that Jackson appears almost ready to return from his hamstring injury.

Jackson (left hamstring) worked off to the side during Thursday's practice, doing agility drills under the supervision of the Falcons' training staff, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

While it seems safe to assume that Jackson won't play Saturday against the Texans, it's encouraging to see him progress, albeit incrementally. The expectation is that the veteran back should be ready in advance of Week 1.
