Tue May 13 201408:51Peyton Hillis' rooster spot in danger?
The Newark Star-Ledger believes Peyton Hillis' roster spot is in jeopardy.
The Giants drafted fellow big back Andre Williams in the fourth round and are already high on him. Hillis inked a one-year deal to re-up with the G-Men back in March, but it included just $100,000 guaranteed. Rashad Jennings, Williams, and David Wilson are tentatively expected to be the Giants' top three backs.

Tue Mar 11 201410:33G-Men keep Peyton Hillis on 2-yr, $1.8M pact
Giants re-signed RB Peyton Hillis to a two-year, $1.8 million contract.
Hillis, 28, signed off the street last year and rushed for 247 yards with two TDs on 73 carries (3.4 YPC), appearing in seven games and starting one. He should be viewed internally by the Giants as no more than an insurance policy. Hillis is a plus pass blocker, but offers no big-play ability as a runner, is in decline, and has a history of fumbling problems. He's an uninspiring re-signing.

Tue Mar 11 201409:16Giants expected to re-sign Peyton Hillis
The NY Daily News is "hearing" the Giants will re-sign free agent Peyton Hillis "probably today."
The G-Men just need bodies in the backfield with Andre Brown's contract up and David Wilson's (neck surgery) Week 1 availability uncertain. It would've been nice to see them aim higher than Hillis, however. He's an oversized plodder.

Peyton Hillis (concussion) resumed practicing Thursday.
Barring a setback, Hillis should be ready to back up Andre Brown, who has also resumed practicing after suffering a concussion of his own in Week 16. A soon-to-be 28-year-old plodder with no playmaking ability, Hillis is going to have a hard time finding work in the offseason.

Sun Dec 8 201319:48Peyton Hillis vultures goal-line TD in defeat
Peyton Hillis rushed four times for 11 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Week 14 loss to San Diego.
Hillis did nothing other than steal fantasy points from Andre Brown, vulturing a one-yard touchdown early in the third quarter. The Giants have some odd obsession with designated goal-line backs. Hillis isn't even a worthwhile handcuff for Brown for Weeks 15 and 16.

Mon Dec 2 201300:26Hillis leads Giants in rushing vs. Redskins
Peyton Hillis had six carries for 45 yards in Sunday night's Week 13 win over the Redskins.
With Brandon Jacobs (knee) inactive, Hillis was the No. 2 back behind Andre Brown. He saw seven touches in a short-yardage and change-of-pace role, with 35 of his total yards coming on back-to-back runs in the second quarter. Hillis surprisingly played in the two-minute offense over Brown at the end of the first half. He isn't worth owning in fantasy leagues and will likely struggle for playing time when Jacobs returns.

Mon Nov 11 201313:09Peyton Hillis played 17 snaps in Week 10
Peyton Hillis played just 17 snaps in the Giants' Week 10 win over the Raiders.
Andre Brown got the start and played 48 downs. Michael Cox didn't see the field on offense. One week earlier than the Giants had publicly planned, Brown has already taken full control of New York's backfield. He has a chance to be an every-down back going forward. Hillis is just a weak handcuff now.

Sun Nov 10 201317:21Peyton Hillis loses fumble vs. Raiders
Peyton Hillis rushed five times for 21 yards in New York's Week 10 win over the Raiders, also losing a fumble.
Hillis was stopped for no gain on his lone reception. Coming off the bench behind Andre Brown, Hillis was the lead back on New York's second series, but killed it by committing one of the softest fumbles you will ever see. He was out-touched 29-4 by Brown thereafter. Providing absolutely zero play-making ability, Hillis could slide as far as No. 3 on the depth chart for next week's game against Green Bay. His fantasy relevance has come and gone.

Sun Nov 10 201312:08Giants list Peyton Hillis as starter Week 10
Peyton Hillis is listed as the Giants Week 10 starter at running back.
Brandon Jacobs (knee, hamstring) is out and Andre Brown (leg) is making his season debut. Therefore, the Giants will start off with Hillis and give him a chance to establish himself. Brown will still be mixed in plenty, especially if Hillis struggles to the tune of 2.78 YPC as he did in the previous two weeks. Ideally, fantasy owners will be able to avoid this situation. We've ranked Hillis 40th among running backs this week and Brown 41st.
