Wed Nov 27 201318:18Fins WR Matthews limited on Wednesday
Rishard Matthews (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Matthews didn't appear to be injured last week against the Panthers, though he did take an illegal hit in the back of the end zone on one play. Either way, he shouldn't be in danger of missing Week 13. Matthews, the Dolphins' primary slot receiver, will see a lot of Jets nickel CB Kyle Wilson on Sunday.

Rishard Matthews caught three passes for just two yards in Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Panthers.
Matthews' role did not change from the previous two weeks. He was still the primary slot receiver and tied for second on the team with seven targets. Matthews also had a touchdown catch in his hands in the back of the end zone, but he took an illegal hit and dropped the ball. He'll be a PPR WR4 against the Jets' leaky pass defense in Week 13.

Mon Nov 11 201323:50Rishard Matthews breaks out for Miami on MNF
Rishard Matthews caught 11 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns in Miami's Week 10, 22-19 loss to the Bucs on Monday night.
Matthews entered the game with just ten catches on the season and 21 for his career. He was targeted 14 times by Ryan Tannehill and was easily the quarterback's favorite target. Matthews has taken over slot receiver duties the last couple weeks since Brandon Gibson went down with a torn patellar tendon. Tannehill isn't getting a ton of time to throw week in and week out, so he's constantly forced to throw to his receivers that are close to the line of scrimmage. Matthews, Charles Clay, and Brian Hartline are those players. Matthews is a decent route runner and has reliable hands. His two touchdowns on Monday were the first two of his career. Matthews beat Dashon Goldson for a six-yard score in the second quarter, then walked in untouched from 19 yards out on a screen pass in the third quarter. This will likely go down as the best game of Matthews' career, but keep an eye on him in deeper PPR leagues.

Rishard Matthews was held to two catches for 24 yards in Thursday night's Week 9 win over the Bengals.

Wed Oct 30 201309:24Rishard Matthews to step in as slot receiver
Rishard Matthews is expected to step in as the Dolphins slot receiver.
Brandon Gibson is done for the season after sustaining a season-ending knee injury in Week 8. It leaves a big hole as he posted a 30/326/3 line through seven games. The physical Matthews has a major opportunity in front of him, but he has very little experience playing inside and his feel for getting open is in doubt. We wouldn't make an add outside of 16-team formats.

Sun Oct 27 201318:30Rishard Matthews held to 30 yards in Week 8
Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews caught three passes for 30 yards in Sunday's Week 8 loss to New England.
Matthews saw increased snaps because slot receiver Brandon Gibson left early with a torn patellar tendon. Gibson's season is over, so look for Matthews to be Miami's No. 3 receiver the rest of the way.

Sun Aug 11 201317:22Rishard Matthews resumes practicing
Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews (knee) has resumed practicing in training camp.
Matthews missed the last two weeks of camp with an injury the Dolphins never identified, although it was believed to be either a knee scope or MCL issue. A second-year wideout, Matthews caught 11 passes for 151 yards during his rookie season. He's competing for the Dolphins No. 4 receiver spot.

Tue Jul 30 201318:30Rishard Matthews' injury is to knee
Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews' multi-week injury is to his knee.
The "several week" timeline suggests an MCL issue. Matthews still has a shot at a roster spot considering the woeful state of the back-end of Miami's receiver corps, but he likely can't afford to miss all of training camp and the preseason.

Sun Jul 28 201312:56Dolphins WR Matthews out 'several weeks'
Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews will be out "several weeks" with an undisclosed injury.
Matthews' status was a "mystery" Sunday morning. He was stretching, but he didn't hit the field with the team. Considered the "heavy favorite" for the Dolphins' No. 5 receiver job, Matthews can't afford to miss many reps. It opens the door for guys like Marvin McNutt, Jasper Collins, and Jeff Fuller.

Tue Jul 9 201322:55WR Matthews 'heavy favorite' for No. 5 spot
The Miami Herald now considers Rishard Matthews the "heavy favorite" for the Dolphins' No. 5 receiver job.
Miami's most trusted Dolphins source left Matthews off its projected 53-man roster last month, but reported in May that he had been standing out at OTAs. Per reporter Barry Jackson, GM Jeff Ireland has been "very pleased" with Matthews' play. Roster spot or not, Matthews isn't going to come into any fantasy value.

Sat Jun 29 201314:19Matthews, Binns favorites to secure WR spots?
ESPN AFC East blogger James Walker considers Rishard Matthews and Armon Binns the early favorites for the Dolphins' Nos. 4 and 5 receiver spots.
We've seen conflicting reports on Matthews this spring. The Miami Herald, the most trusted source for Dolphins news, left Matthews off its way-too-early 53-man roster projections following minicamp, after initially reporting the second-year wideout was standing out at OTAs. The Dolphins have a handful of other receivers in the mix, and we'll learn much more in training camp and preseason.

Mon Jun 17 201315:22Rishard Matthews won't make the Dolphins
The Miami Herald's 53-man Dolphins roster projection left off second-year WR Rishard Matthews.
A previous Herald report indicated Matthews was standing out at OTAs, but his consistency must have become an issue. The Herald now projects the Fins to keep five receivers: Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson, Armon Binns, and Marvin McNutt. If Matthews can't beat out McNutt and Binns on a level playing field, then perhaps he doesn't belong in the league anyway.

Wed May 29 201322:45Rishard Matthews a stand-out at OTAs
Dolphins second-year WR Rishard Matthews was a stand-out player at OTAs Wednesday.
Matthews, a seventh-round pick out of Nevada last year, saw extra snaps on Wednesday with Mike Wallace out of town tending to a personal matter, and he secured three touchdowns in team work. GM Jeff Ireland stated in February that he had high hopes for Matthews this year, but that was before he added Wallace and Brandon Gibson to the mix. Matthews is battling for No. 4 duties.
