Brewers optioned INF Taylor Green to Triple-A Nashville.
Green batted .324/.405/.541 this spring, but the Brewers want him getting regular playing time and can't offer it to him right now in the big leagues. He should be up in Milwaukee at some point this summer.

Taylor Green ripped a two-run homer Thursday against the Padres.
Green didn't start the game but pinch-hit for Aramis Ramirez in the sixth inning and promptly went deep against San Diego right-hander Micah Owings. The young infielder batted .336 with 22 home runs last year at Triple-A and is trying to win a spot on the Brewers bench.

Taylor Green and Brooks Conrad are expected to see playing time at first base this spring.
Corey Hart underwent knee surgery Tuesday morning and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks, so the Brewers are looking at potential backups for first baseman Mat Gamel. Non-roster invitee Travis Ishikawa, who homered Monday, is another possibility.

Fri Aug 26 201123:34Brewers to call up Taylor Green from AAA
Brewers infield prospect Taylor Green will be promoted from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Green, 24, has registered an impressive .987 OPS, 21 home runs and 85 RBI in 119 games this season. He should see part-time action at third base down the stretch and will also provide an offensive spark off the bench. The Brewers could have waited until rosters expand on September 1, but they decided to make the move a week early.

Tue Apr 13 201003:28Brewers prospect Green triples, doubles
Brewers prospect Taylor Green tripled, doubled and walked twice Monday for Double-A Huntsville.
Green is something of an afterthought now after hitting .258/.330/.356 last year in his first attempt at Double-A, but it needs to be remembered that he was recovering from wrist surgery then. The 23-year-old Green has a nice line-drive swing that should make him a fine backup even if he doesn't hit for enough power to make it as a regular third baseman. He's 7-for-17 with four extra-base hits and three walks so far this season.
