Sun May 22 202219:56Austin Slater Exits Early Due To Injury
San Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater (wrist) was forced to exit early during Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres. It's unclear how Slater suffered the injury, but it does make sense why he was pinch-hit for in the fifth inning. Outfielder Joc Pederson came into bat against a left-handed pitcher, which seemed like an odd decision at the time. Fantasy managers should get an update on Slater within the next day or two. However, he wasn't offering too much with the bat before the injury.

Sun May 1 202200:39Austin Slater Leaves Early With Knee Contusion
San Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater left the game early in the club's 9-3 win over the Nationals on Saturday due to a knee contusion that he suffered during Friday's contest. Slater was able to make it into the seventh inning after going 0-for-3 with a pair of punchouts, but by that time the Giants built up the six-run lead, so he could have been pulled as a precaution. The 29-year-old picked up the ailment after crashing into the wall last night, and should be considered day-to-day until we hear more information from the club. Slater is hitting .237 with a pair of homers and steals so far after finishing the 2021 campaign with 12 HR and 15 thefts.

Tue Nov 30 202121:58Austin Slater Avoids Arbitration With Giants
The San Francisco Giants and outfielder Austin Slater avoided salary arbitration on Tuesday evening by agreeing to a one-year, $1.85 million deal. Slater surprised everyone when he posted a .914 OPS in 31 games in the shortened 2020 season. While he wasn't quite as good in 2021, he was still solid for the Giants with a .241/.320/.423 slash line with a .744 OPS, a career-high 12 home runs, 32 RBI, 39 runs scored and a career-high 15 stolen bases in 306 plate appearances over 129 games. At the very least, Slater will compete for a bench spot for the Giants in spring training, and he could be the right-handed platoon partner with Darin Ruf in left field.
