Sat Oct 12 201323:20Byron Mullens flashes 3-point game, scores 15
Byron Mullens hit three 3-pointers on his way to 15 points off the bench on Saturday, adding four rebounds and one steal in 16 minutes.
Mullens' volume of 3-point shots belies sub-par efficiency, as he made only 31.7 percent of his 3.9 attempts per game last year. The Clippers may live with that trade-off to clear space in the paint, however, and Mullens is a safe bet for one 3-pointer and a handful of rebounds per game off L.A.'s bench.

Wed Aug 28 201315:35Byron Mullens vows to improve shot selection
Byron Mullens said that he'll "have a lot better shot selection" with the Clippers this season.
The 7'0" big man averaged 1.2 triples with the Bobcats last year, but he shot just 31.7 percent from downtown and attempted far more 3-pointers (208) than shots within eight feet of the rim (143). Doc Rivers still wants him to spread the court as a reserve big man, but Mullens needs to improve his interior presence, rebounding and defense.

Sat Jul 20 201319:27Byron Mullens, Clips agree on two-year deal
Byron Mullens will join the Clippers on a two-year, $2 million contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.
The deal should be official early next week and it includes a second-year player option. He gives L.A. affordable frontcourt depth, but his limited rebounds and blocks make him an unlikely source of fantasy value -- he did make 1.2 threes per game last year, but overall he shot just 38.5 percent from the field.

Wed Jul 17 201322:22Clippers nearing deal with Byron Mullens
Byron Mullens is nearing agreement on for a two-year deal with the Clippers.
The Bobcats let Mullens go and made him an unrestricted free agent after basically falling out of the rotation. Mullens shot 36.9 percent from the field after the break while averaging just 19.5 minutes over that stretch. He'll provide some depth behind Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

Mon Jul 1 201312:52Lakers interested in Byron Mullens
The Lakers contacted unrestricted free agent Byron Mullens early Monday morning.
Mullens didn't get a qualifying offer from the Bobcats and was pushed out of one of the worst frontcourt rotations in the NBA last season. He is one of the best big men at shooting the ball, so he could be productive in an uptempo second unit.

The Bobcats will not extend a qualifying offer to Byron Mullens, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

Fri Apr 12 201318:55Byron Mullens out Friday
Byron Mullens (ankle) will not play in Friday's game against the Pistons.
Mullens never got over the severe ankle sprain that originally crippled his season way back in December. It's still lingering with just a few days left in the season.

Tue Apr 9 201320:27Byron Mullens available for Bobcats
Byron Mullens, who is dealing with an elbow injury, is available for the Bobcats on Tuesday.
He was iffy coming in, but just because he's available doesn't mean owners should expect any miracles, as he's struggled for consistency ever since coming back from his ankle injury this season.

Sat Apr 6 201321:32Byron Mullens leaves w/ bruised left elbow
Byron Mullens left Saturday's game after four minutes due to a bruised left elbow, and he will not return.
Mullens hadn't played since late March, and his newest ailment merely secures Josh McRoberts as the Bobcats' starting power forward. Even if the elbow injury is minor, Mullens is unlikely to provide more fantasy value this year.

Sat Apr 6 201319:43Byron Mullens (ankle) available vs. Nets
Byron Mullens (ankle) is available to play vs. the Nets on Saturday.
Mullens has missed five games and he's coming off the bench behind Josh McRoberts, so his return shouldn't set off a race to the waiver wire. Suffice to say, he averaged 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in March.

Thu Apr 4 201310:15Byron Mullens could be shut down for season
Byron Mullens (ankle) is going to see a doctor on Thursday and could be shut down for the season.
It's the same (left) ankle that Mullens suffered a severe sprain to earlier in the season. Mullens has missed four straight games with the injury and it wouldn't be a surprise if the team simply shut him down. Josh McRoberts is locked into the starting power forward spot regardless of Mullens' health.

Wed Apr 3 201318:05Byron Mullens won't play Wednesday night
Byron Mullens (left ankle) will sit out again Wednesday night.
It'll be the fourth game Mullens has missed with the injury, which is still of unknown severity. Josh McRoberts will continue to reap the benefits while Mullens is sidelined.

Mon Apr 1 201319:16Byron Mullens out for a third game with ankle
Byron Mullens (left ankle) will not play against the Bucks on Monday.
This will be his third game missed and there's no word on the severity of the injury. Josh McRoberts played 41 minutes and scored 15 points on Saturday, so he's worth a look while Mullens is out of the lineup.

Sat Mar 30 201319:25Byron Mullens (ankle) ruled out for Saturday
Byron Mullens (sore left ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the 76ers.
He missed about six weeks with a severe left ankle sprain earlier this season, so it makes sense that Charlotte would be cautious with him as they slump toward the end of another lost season. Josh McRoberts will continue to start at PF and play heavy minutes in his absence.

Fri Mar 29 201319:28Byron Mullens out with a sore left ankle
Byron Mulllens will not play against the Knicks with a sore left ankle.
This is the same left ankle that cost Mullens over one month of action earlier this season. There's no word just yet when the injury occurred and he is a late scratch. It should be the Josh McRoberts show at power forward and he's worth starting in most formats.

Sun Mar 24 201320:44Byron Mullens quiet in fill-in start at PF
Byron Mullens returned to the starting PF spot on Sunday, but he scored only five points with two rebounds and two turnovers in 23 minutes of action.
Josh McRoberts was out with a shoulder injury, which opened up a bigger role for Mullens, who scored 25 points on Wednesday but went scoreless on Saturday. He also picked up four fouls, shot 2-of-8 from the field, and finished the game with a +/- rating of -25, a miserable line for any owners who gambled on him tonight.

Sat Mar 23 201322:24Byron Mullens goes scoreless in 22 minutes
Byron Mullens went scoreless in 22 minutes vs. Detroit, missing all five of his field goal attempts.
Mullens grabbed five rebounds and blocked a shot, but that's small consolation for owners who gambled on him after Wednesday's 25-point eruption. He even started the second half ahead of Josh McRoberts (shoulder), but McBob was able to return and doesn't seem likely to miss any games. Start Mullens at your own peril.

Wed Mar 20 201322:28Byron Mullens goes off from Bobcats bench
Byron Mullens hit 7-of-11 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to 25 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks in Wednesday's win.
Wow. This is the game Mullens' owners needed to see a few weeks ago while they were still holding him and wanting to put him in fantasy lineups. He's been terrible and on the bench for Charlotte, but is finally coming on. He had 12 points and a full stat line on Monday prior to tonight's explosion, and it's officially time to pick him back up. Just don't rely on him to play like this for too long, as he's capable of disappearing just as quickly as he came on for tonight's monster line.

Fri Mar 15 201321:59Mullens (back) plyas just eight minutes
Byron Mullens (back) played just eight minutes in Friday's game, missing one field goal attempt for zero points, one rebound and a steal.
Mullens is a big mess right now and he can be dropped in any normal format. He could get his act together down the road, but owners should wait for that to happen before considering an add in those leagues.

Thu Mar 14 201311:51Byron Mullens to be game-time on Friday
Byron Mullens (back) was limited in practice and will be a game-time decision against the Raptors on Friday.
Mullens has been benched in favor of Josh McRoberts and hasn't played more than 23 minutes in any game during March. He was a fantasy contributor earlier in the season, but owners in standard formats can definitely move on if they haven't already. Josh McRoberts should continue to start at power forward.
