Tue Mar 21 202309:07Nick Richards Bounces Back On Monday
Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards posted a nice 14-point, 17-rebound double-double as the team beat Indiana on Monday 115-109. The Pacers have an intimidating figure in the paint in Myles Turner, but the team has struggled against centers all season and Richards also took advantage of the situation, bouncing back well from a nightmare he had against Philadelphia in the previous game. Richards shot 5-for-7 from the field and completed his work for the night with one assist and two blocks. The 25-year-old made a fifth consecutive start and has averaged 9.4 points with 9.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks over that span.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Fri Feb 10 202309:25Navigating The Clippers Trade Deadline Moves - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Then, they set their eyes on veteran guard Eric Gordon in a three-team trade, sending off John Wall to the Houston Rockets and Luke Kennard to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lastly, the Clippers moved ... Thu Dec 29 202214:44Nick Richards Upgraded To Questionable
Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards (ankle) could be back in action Thursday against the Thunder, with the team upgrading him to questionable. At first, Richards was ruled out for the contest with a right ankle sprain, but it looks like he's made big strides in his recovery and could be back after sitting out two games. The 25-year-old is the backup big behind Mason Plumlee in Charlotte, and Richardson has had a fine campaign in limited minutes, averaging 9.0 points with 6.4 rebounds. He has recorded eight double-doubles for the season, with three of them coming this month.

Sat Dec 24 202218:16Nick Richards Sprains His Right Ankle
Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards missed the end of Friday's 134-130 win over the Lakers with a right ankle sprain. He was able to play 12 minutes in the contest, finishing with five points, three rebounds and one steal. The 25-year-old has done a very good job behind Mason Plumlee this season, averaging 9.0 points and 6.4 rebounds in 18.9 minutes. His status for the next game on Monday against Portland is currently unclear. Mark Williams and Kai Jones will hope to enter the rotation if Richards is absent.

Wed Nov 23 202221:36Nick Richards Records Another Double-Double
Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards was outstanding once again during Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 24-year-old has finished with a double-double in three straight games. On Wednesday, Richards recorded 13 points, 13 rebounds, and one block across 21 minutes in the win over the Sixers. The Hornets are getting fantastic production from Richards off the bench. However, it's tough to imagine this level of playing continuing for long. Mason Plumlee remains the starter, which limits Richards long term value. Fantasy managers in need of production right now should take a look at Richards while he's hot.

Fri Sep 23 202222:36Nick Richards Has Impressed Hornets
Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards has been getting praise from head coach Steve Clifford. The 24-year-old has reportedly looked good during training camp. Despite that, Richards is expected to remain the backup center heading into the season. Mason Plumlee should be the starter, but Richards could see a decent role behind him. Although, it's worth mentioning that P.J. Washington and Mark Williams will see playing time as well. Richards will have to battle if he wants consistent minutes in the rotation. However, he could end up carving out a role for himself and having some deep league value.

Mon Nov 29 202119:53Nick Richards Draws First Career Start Monday
Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards will make the first start of his NBA career Monday against the Bulls with Mason Plumlee (calf) sidelined. Richards has been utilized scarcely off the bench this season, averaging 3.5 points and 2.1 boards in just 9.1 minutes of action. But the seven-footer not only has shot 65.8 percent from the floor this season, he has working in his favor the fact that his first time among the starting five comes on his 24th birthday. He will draw a sizable defensive challenge in slowing Chicago's Nikola Vucevic, but Richards remains a last-minute DFS roll of the dice option that could have value in cash lineups.
