Tue Sep 7 201022:48Juan Pierre legs out another two hits
Juan Pierre legged out a single and added a double in five at bats Tuesday night against the Tigers.
Pierre has been stellar in the second half - at least fantasy-wise. His .313 average and 22 stolen bases since the All-Star game play well when his lack of power and iffy defense aren't holding his overall value down so completely.
Wed Aug 18 201023:26Pierre gets four hits, two steals
Juan Pierre collected four hits and two steals as the White Sox lost to the Twins, 7-6, on Wednesday night.
Pierre was everywhere, diving headfirst into first base on one play and sliding into second without even drawing a throw later. He has seven steals to go with a nice .338 batting average over his last 17 games.
Tue Aug 3 201016:58Pierre homers for first time since Sept. 2008
Juan Pierre hit his first home run since 2008 in the first half of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Tigers.
Pierre also doubled, collected two total RBI and stole a base. He's now batting .266/.337/.307 with 26 RBI in 410 at-bats, which isn't terrible for a stolen-base oriented fantasy player. Not good, but not awful. His previous long-ball was in September of the 2008 season.
Mon Jul 26 201023:09Pierre sparks White Sox in win Monday
Juan Pierre picked up three hits in Monday's 6-1 win over the Mariners.
Not surprisingly, all three of Pierre's hits were singles, but he made them count with a two-RBI single and a run scored. He also stole his league-leading 36th base. Pierre is batting only .255 on the season, but he's made of for it with the steals and the 53 runs scored.
Thu Jul 15 201023:58Pierre gets three hits, scores twice Thursday
Juan Pierre singled three times and scored twice in Chicago's win Thursday over Minnesota.
The speedster is batting just .262 on the season, and of course he gives you nothing in the power and RBI departments. But Pierre has scored 48 runs and leads all of baseball with his 32 steals, so fantasy owners are pretty well satisfied with what they're getting from the veteran.
Tue May 4 201001:01Pierre steals two bases in return to leadoff
In his return to the leadoff spot, Juan Pierre went 1-for-4 with two steals and two runs scored on Monday.
We'd rather see him hit ninth if he has to play, but with no quality alternatives, it's not like Pierre is killing the White Sox when he leads off.
Thu Apr 29 201017:22Pierre dropped from White Sox' leadoff spot
Juan Pierre has been removed from the leadoff spot.
Pierre won't play in Friday's game and will bat ninth when he returns to the White Sox' lineup Saturday. The speedy outfielder is batting just .200/.261/.200 through 85 at-bats this season.

Thu Apr 29 201017:09White Sox's Pierre goes 0-for-5
Juan Pierre went 0-for-5 on Thursday, dropping his average to .200.
Manager Ozzie Guillen talked before the game about his thoughts on removing Pierre from the leadoff spot and then deciding not to because of a lack of alternatives. Pierre has been truly dreadful, with no extra-base hits, one RBI and just four walks in 85 at-bats. He'd hurt the White Sox less if Guillen would bat him ninth.
Sun Apr 18 201016:40Pierre collects three steals against Indians
Juan Pierre went 2-for-5 with an RBI and three steals against the Indians on Sunday.
Pierre already has six steals in 12 games, and he's more than capable of kicking in 100 runs and 50+ steals while hitting leadoff. That said, Pierre entered the day batting just .186 and will need to pick up his average if he expects to remain at the top of the White Sox order. His strikeout rate looks just fine, so expect that to happen.
Tue Apr 13 201018:06Pierre out of lineup on Tuesday
Juan Pierre is out of the lineup against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night.
Omar Vizquel will lead off and play second base, with Andruw Jones in left field and Gordon Beckham as the designated hitter.
