He will be replaced by Felipe Paulino, who was acquired from the Rockies on Thursday. A rookie, Adcock has made just two starts this season, and was more effective in his eight appearances out of the bullpen, where he posted a 2.16 ERA. That number is slightly deceiving, however, as hitters have also managed to post an .816 OPS against him in his relief role. | ||||||

In his first major league start Saturday, Nate Adcock tossed five shutout innings as part of a no-decision in a loss to the Cardinals. | ||||||
Adcock, who was starting in place of the injured Kyle Davies, held the Cardinals to just three hits while striking out four, walking one and hitting a batter. He was pulled after throwing 72 pitches. It was an impressive spot-start for Adcock, who now has a 1.66 ERA and 12/6 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings this season. Assuming the young right-hander stays in the rotation, he lines up to face the Rangers next weekend. | ||||||
