Bobby Jenks (colonoscopy) is slated to throw a bullpen session Tuesday.
Jenks, who is currently on the disabled list with a back injury, was hospitalized over the weekend due to a stomach illness and underwent a colonoscopy earlier this week. If all goes well, he could be back with the Red Sox by the end of the month.

Wed Aug 3 201121:10Jenks feels 'just OK'
Red Sox pitching coach Curt Young called Bobby Jenks' (back) Wednesday throwing session his "best day."
This, after manager Terry Francona said Jenks felt "great" on Monday and "just OK" on Tuesday. "[We're] trying to figure out if it was from maybe doing too much lifting or from the throwing," Francona said. "So we just are kind of going back and forth, probably not coming as quick as everyone would like, including himself. He had gotten that cortisone shot before we left, and he felt really good." The Sox will continue to monitor Jenks daily. There's no timetable for his return.

Bobby Jenks is already feeling improvement after receiving a cortisone injection in his back Thursday.
Good news, though it's not clear when he'll be ready to resume a throwing program. Jenks has been a major disappointment in the first season of a two-year, $12 million contract, posting a 6.32 ERA and 17/13 K/BB ratio over 15 2/3 innings. Fortunately Matt Albers has stepped up as a reliable option out of the bullpen, so the Red Sox aren't really missing him right now.

Jenks has been a disappointment when healthy, posting a 6.32 ERA and 2.23 WHIP while walking nearly a batter per inning over 19 games.
