Rockies OF/1B prospect Kyle Parker went 2-for-4 with a home run for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Monday.
Parker has four hits and two walks in 10 plate appearances since he was optioned back to Triple-A. Parker's first appearance in the major leagues was neither long nor particularly successful, but there may be long-term dividends from the time he spent with major league hitters and watching major league pitchers. Parker will likely see more time with the Rockies later this season, and could be their starting right-fielder in 2015.

Sat Apr 26 201411:27Rockies 1B/OF prospect Parker on hot streak
Rockies 1B/OF prospect Kyle Parker went 1-for-3 on Friday, and has picked up hits in seven of his last eight games.
Parker has also played first base in five of those eight games, a position he did not play for the first 12 games of the season. Many view him as the Rockies first baseman of the future, though the off-season signing of Justin Morneau pushes back his timeline. If Morneau struggles, Parker could be part of a platoon due to his success against left-handed pitching (.421/.542/.684 in 2014 and .305/.330/.505 in 2013).
