Hickson scored 16 points (8-11 FG) and picked up four rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal Friday in his second game with an expanded role following the trade of Timofey Mozgov to the Cavaliers earlier this week.
Hickson has now scored double-digit points in four consecutive games, and could see this increased playing time keep up with Mozgov gone. However, JaVale McGee could return in the next week or two, which would potentially bump Hickson's playing time back down. For now, Hickson is a possible play in daily leagues while Jusuf Nurkic gets the start at center for the Nuggets.

Hickson came off the bench Wednesday and finished with 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 30 minutes against the Magic.
Hickson was a big beneficiary in terms of minutes after the departure of Timofey Mozgov Wednesday. Although it was rookie Jusu Nurkic who got the start, Hickson played 30 minutes to Nurkic's 22. This is nice seeing that Hickson has battled some injuries this season and is averaging just 19 minutes per game. He has played 30 minutes just three times this season but did so in both the last two games. JaVale McGee (knee) could see a return next week and Hickson's minutes could be reduced once McGee is fully healthy.

Hickson scored six points ( 3-5 FG, 0-2 FT) and added four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 23 minutes of action against the Heat on Wednesday.
Hickson has been putting up mediocre lines and will need a boost in playing time in order to enter fantasy relevance for a 10 team standard league.
Wed Dec 10 201421:07Hickson will draw start Wednesday against Heat
Hickson will draw the start Wednesday against the Heat, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
Hickson has started back-to-back games while Kenneth Faried has been dealing with a lower back strain, but this hasn't necessarily translated in steady production. Faried is expected to be available off the bench Wednesday, which risks cutting even further into Hickson's minutes.

Hickson drew the start in the absence of Kenneth Faried, but failed to put together a good outing. He finished with four points (1-6 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks, and a steal in 20 minutes.
Hickson was able to salvage some value in the form of defensive stats. However he was otherwise limited due to foul trouble and an overall inability to do much on offense. Denver will find out on Monday whether or not Faried will be back to face off against Toronto. While Hickson may get another start, this performance couldn't have done much to ease the minds of those who need a spot-start.
Sun Dec 7 201415:28Hickson will start at power forward for Nuggets on Sunday
Hickson will start at power forward for the Nuggets on Sunday, Cliff Dempsey reports.
In the past four games Hickson has been very effective, averaging 9.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. With an expanded role it will be interesting to see what Hickson can do, while he may be a double-double candidate as long as Kenneth Faried sits out.

Hickson put up seven points (2-5 FG, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist, and two blocks in 19 minutes off the bench Tuesday.
Hickson is an enigma. Sometimes he goes on a torrential hot streak that makes him look like he'll be a huge boon to fantasy players, and then he gets benched or outright traded or waived because the team he's on simply tires of his erratic production and limited defense. While it's hard to be too definitive about any one player when analyzing coach Brian Shaw's rotation, it would be surprising to see Hickson have a big enough role this season unless the team suffers several injuries and are forced to play him.
Wed Nov 19 201414:40Hickson (rest) back with team and available to play in Wednesday...
Hickson (rest) is back with the team and available to play in Wednesday's game, the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports.
He missed Monday's game, as it was the second night of a back-to-back set and coach Brian Shaw wants to allow Hickson to build up strength in his surgically repaired knee. However, he should be available for his typical minor role off the bench Wednesday.
Mon Nov 17 201417:35Hickson (rest) will not play Monday against Cavaliers
Hickson (rest) will not play Monday against the Cavaliers, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
Hickson will be held out Monday on the second night of a back-to-back, as he continues to build strength in his surgically repaired knee. In four games this season - Hickson was suspended for the five games for a drug policy violation - he's played more than 20 minutes on only one occasion.

Hickson scored 14 points (7-11 FG, 0-2 FT), with 11 rebounds and four assists in 21 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Trail Blazers.
If there was a bright spot for the Nuggets through this tough loss, it's that Hickson looked ready to take on more minutes. Denver needs someone to step up inside right now, and that may very well end up being Hickson. The big man will be a player to keep up with over the next few games.
Wed Nov 12 201414:17Hickson will remain on minutes limit for couple more weeks
Hickson will remain on a minutes limit for a couple more weeks, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
Hickson made his season debut Sunday, playing 15 minutes in a loss to the Blazers. He'll likely continue to see similar run going forward as he works his way back from a torn ACL.

Hickson (suspension) made his season debut Sunday, scoring eight points and collecting 10 rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench.
Hickson missed the first five games of the season on suspension for violating the NBA's drug policy. He showed up big in his first action of the season, but Hickson is likely to be in a minutes struggle with JaVale McGee, Kenneth Faried, and Timofey Mozgov, limiting his value most games.

Hickson (suspension) is active Sunday against the Blazers and will be available off the bench, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
Hickson was serving a five-game ban for violating the league's drug policy. After sitting out the first week-and-a-half of the season, he'll be available in a bench role Sunday. Hickson figures to see considerable run, as Darrell Arthur is suspended after shoving the Cavs' Dion Waiters (back) on Friday.

Hickson only has one game left to serve on his five-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy.
Hickson will be missing Friday's game against the Cavaliers but is eligible to return against the Trail Blazers on Sunday. The Nuggets are currently rotating five guys in their frontcourt rotation so it'd be hard to imagine Hickson seeing significant time on the court when he returns from his suspension.

Hickson (knee) appears ready for the regular season after playing in the Nuggets' final three preseason games.
Hickson is expected to be used predominantly in a bench role this season, and it's possible that he could have his minutes restricted to start the season since he's coming off of ACL surgery. Unless the Nuggets suffer injuries to key players, Hickson will likely play limited minutes this season, limiting his fantasy value.

Hickson (knee) will not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Warriors, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
Hickson is yet to play in the preseason, as he recovers from an ACL tear. He was cleared for full contact activities more than two weeks ago, so it's likely he returns for one of Denver's final preseason games. The Nuggets play Tuesday against Portland and close out at Golden State next Friday.
Mon Oct 13 201413:59Hickson (knee) won't play Monday
Hickson (knee) won't play Monday, the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports.
The Nuggets continue to hold Hickson out, and it would be nice to see him take the court in the near future if he's going to be ready for the start of the regular season. JaVale McGee also remains sidelined, leaving Timofey Mozgov as the Nuggets' only healthy center.
Tue Oct 7 201417:52Hickson (knee) won't play in Nuggets' preseason game Wednesday
Hickson (knee) won't play in the Nuggets' preseason game Wednesday, but he is expected to play in the team's third exhibition Friday in Phoenix, the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports.
It's good to hear that Hickson is close to being able to play in a preseason game, and he should be available at the start of the regular season.

Hickson (knee) will not play in the Nuggets' preseason opener Monday against the Lakers, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
While he's been cleared for full contact, Hickson will not play Monday, as the team continues to exercise caution in bringing him back after an ACL tear. He should be back in the mix at some point during the preseason, but he'll sit the first five games of the regular season for violating the league's anti-drug program.

Hickson (knee) has been cleared for full-contact basketball activities following last season's ACL tear, The Denver Post reports.
Hickson will still be suspended for the first five games of this season for violating the league's anti-drug program, but it appears he'll be able to resume playing once that punishment is completed. That's because Hickson has already been fully cleared following his ACL tear suffered in March. Along with that remarkably quick recovery, Hickson said he won't wear a brace on his knee this season. With the Nuggets' roster fairly unchanged up front, Hickson should fulfill a role similar to last season, when he averaged 11.8 points and 9.2 rebounds in 26.9 minutes across 69 games (52 starts).
