Fri May 3 201320:52Mark Ellis could hit DL if not ready Monday
Mark Ellis (quad) will be heading to the disabled list if he's unable to return to the Dodgers lineup before Monday.
Ellis hasn't played since last Friday due to a strained quad, and while he's making progress he still hasn't been able to return to action. The Dodgers will need to make room on the roster on Monday when Chris Capuano is activated from the disabled list, so if Ellis can't return by then, he's the obvious move.

Ellis hasn't played since he strained his quad last Friday. Mark Ellis (quad) is expected to be placed on the disabled list prior to Friday's game.
Ellis hasn't played since straining his right quad last Friday, and he continues to feel something when he runs. With Carl Crawford (hamstring) also banged up, the Dodgers can't afford to play short-handed any longer. The club is waiting until Friday to make the move because that's when Clayton Kershaw will be activated from the bereavement list.
