Mon May 12 201422:40Steve Clevenger goes 3-for-4
Steve Clevenger was the Orioles offense on Monday, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI against the Tigers.
Clevenger has always been a decent enough hitter; it's defense that's held him back as he's attempted to establish himself in the majors. Until the Orioles get Matt Wieters back or acquire another catcher, Clevenger could be just fine as a second catcher in mixed leagues that require them. He'll get all of the playing time he can handle.

Tue Mar 25 201415:59Steve Clevenger goes 3-for-3
Steve Clevenger went 3-for-3 on Tuesday to raise his spring average to .484.
Clevenger was told yesterday that he'd be Matt Wieters' backup. He's not quite as strong defensively as backups the Orioles have gone in the past, but he does offer a nice left-handed bat. Unfortunately, he won't get to use it that often, as Wieters gets as few days off as any AL catcher.

Sat Dec 28 201309:10Steve Clevenger could serve as primary backup
Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports believes that Steve Clevenger could serve as the Orioles primary backup catcher behind starter Matt Wieters.
The 27-year-old backstop who was acquired last season as part of the Scott Feldman trade, mashed the ball to the tune of .325/.401/.468 with five homers and 24 RBI in 44 games at Triple-A in 2013. As the roster is currently constructed, his only competition for the backup job will come from Johnny Monell, who was acquired from the Giants in late November.

In an attempt to highlight his versatility, Steve Clevenger will see time at first base during spring training games.
