Paredes is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

With the Orioles facing left-handed Eduardo Rodriguez, it's no surprise to see Paredes out of the lineup. Paredes had a pair of hits in Sunday's win over the Indians, but he still has just four hits and a whopping 18 strikeouts over 37 at-bats in his last 10 games. His fast start increasingly appears to have been a fluke, and he may soon lose more at-bats, or possibly even be demoted to Triple-A Norfolk.

Paredes is out of Baltimore's lineup for Saturday's game against the Indians, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Paredes is likely getting another day off that will also be slightly convenient for Baltimore, as it will be able to play Matt Wieters at DH and ease him back into the starting catcher role. Paredes remains a major regression concern, but he could still be a decent option at DH going forward, or in the infield if the Orioles eventually play him there more.

Paredes was held out Thursday, but he's back in the lineup Friday serving as the DH as Chris Davis slides back over to first base.

Chris Davis will get the start at DH Thursday as Paredes has come crashing back to earth. He has just one hit in his last six games. It was a fun run while it lasted, and while his batting average still sits at .305, he is trending in the wrong direction and should start to see less consistent playing time.

Paredes will take a seat as Adam Jones (ankle) serves as the DH Monday. Paredes is just 1-for-20 with 11 strikeouts over his last five contests.

Paredes went 2-for-6 in a 13-inning loss to the Marlins on Saturday night.

Paredes just continues to rake -- the two-hit performance actually lowered his average to an impressive .352. That's now five hits in the last two games, and at the rate he's going, he could find himself in the All-Star Game come July. Go pick him up if he's not owned already.

Paredes went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Friday's win over the Marlins.

The Orioles continue to make sure Paredes gets in the lineup every day with his hot bat, playing second base Friday. He is now slashing .353/.385/.603 on the season. The Orioles are visiting Miami this weekend, so the DH is not a possibility. If there is a time to give Paredes a day off, it could come Saturday or Sunday.

Paredes went 3-for-5 Saturday with a triple and his fifth home run of the season.

Just when it seemed like his hot start was proving to be a mirage, Paredes has now put together an eight game hitting streak and has two home runs in his last three games. His slash line remains an impressive .347/.373/.681 on the season.

Paredes has been taking work at first base according to Buck Showalter, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.

Paredes has been red-hot in his eight major league games this season, slashing .429/.444/.857 with three homers, four doubles, a triple, and nine RBI so the club is likely just looking for ways to keep his bat in the lineup. He'll get the start as the team's designated hitter and bat second in Monday's contest against the White Sox.

Paredes was 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a losing cause against Boston Friday night.

It was his second home run - he hit his first on Wednesday night - and he now has four RBI to go with a .320 average. He's going well right now and the Orioles have injuries which could help him garner at bats over the next couple of weeks. He served as the designated hitter in this one, and finding a spot for him to play defensively will be the main challenge.

Paredes provided both his first homer and his first steal of the year Wednesday in a loss to Toronto.

The two-run homer also accounted for Paredes' first runs batted in this season. He's off to a spectacular start, having gone 7-for-16 (.438) with five runs scored in four games since returning from injury to claim a place in the Baltimore lineup.

Paredes is scheduled to move his assignment up to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, indicating that it won't be long before he joins the Orioles. He may be available at the beginning of next week, but he probably won't get regular at-bats once he's with the big-league club. While the Orioles have a clear need for another right-handed bat in the outfield, Paredes is 17-for-101 (.168 batting average) from the right side of the plate in his career, with 29 strikeouts and just one home run.

Paredes (back) played right field Wednesday and will take batting practice and meet with manager Buck Showalter before deciding whether he will go on a rehab assignment that day or Friday instead, MASN Sports reports.

Paredes is starting to close in on a return after beginning the season on the disabled list. It appears the earliest would be some point next week assuming his back suffers no setbacks, but a more concrete timetable should emerge as that time nears.

Paredes (back) will play in a game Monday in Fort Myers and could go on a rehab assignment with High-A Frederick shortly thereafter, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports.

It sounds like he is making good progress in his recovery, and barring a setback, he should come off the DL in a week or two. At that point he is likely ticketed for a bench role in Baltimore.
