Mon Jun 18 201212:45Roger Mason Jr. to have pin removed Tuesday
Roger Mason Jr. will have the pin removed from his surgically-repaired finger on Tuesday.
The veteran ended the season on the sidelines due to the injury. He said "we'll see" when asked if he'd return to the Wizards next season, but Washington may not have interest in retaining him as the team transitions toward the future.

Tue May 29 201216:14Wiz will wait and see on Roger Mason Jr.
Unrestricted free agent Roger Mason Jr. is optimistic about returning to the Wizards.
Mason's status with the Wizards will depend on who they get in the draft. If they land a wing such as Kentucky's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist or Florida's Bradley Beal, Mason may not have a roster spot. The Wiz know there's no rush to make a decision on him.

Mon Apr 9 201222:15Mason scores 17 points with five threes
Roger Mason scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting (including five threes) with five rebounds and two assists against a browbeaten Bobcats squad on Monday.
Mason logged 30 minutes tonight and has scored in double-figures in all but 1-of-6 April games now, averaging just under 12 points and 2.5 threes over that span. There are a lot of free minutes right now in the Wizards reserve unit, but Mason is only for the crowd that's trolling for 3-pointers late in the year.

Thu Mar 22 201222:24Mason goes scoreless against Pacers
Roger Mason went scoreless against the Pacers on Thursday, missing all five of his shots with just one rebound to his credit over 15 minutes.
Mason had shown up as a blip on the radar, but this returns him to irrelevant status in fantasy leagues.

Thu Mar 22 201200:34Roger Mason scores 16 in win
Roger Mason came off the bench to hit 6-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points, a steal and a block in Wednesday's win over the Nets.
Mason has scored 16, 6, 12 and 19 points in his last four games, hitting 12 3-pointers over that stretch. It's hard to say how long it will last, but he got 23 minutes tonight and looks like a reasonable add if you're fishing for 3-pointers.

Sat Mar 17 201200:04Roger Mason scores 12 in 25 minutes
Roger Mason Jr. had 12 points and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes of Friday's loss to the Hawks.
He had 19 points on Thursday, as he will back up Jordan Crawford in the absence of Nick Young, who was traded to the Clippers. If you're in a real deep league, take notice of the rise of Mason.

Thu Mar 15 201222:49Mason scores 19 points off the bench
Roger Mason scored 19 points off the bench on Thursday, hitting 7-of-9 shots from the field (including four threes) with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 19 minutes.
Considering this was Mason's first blurb in the year 2012, we're going to go out on a limb and call this a fluke for now. If he does it again, we'll let you know. Looking like a season. How u.

Sat Dec 31 201109:45Wizards T'd up for using inactive player
Wizards coach Flip Saunders inserted veteran guard Roger Mason into Friday's game, but was soon whistled for a technical foul because Mason wasn't on the active list.
Mason even made a jump shot, which was retroactively credited to Rashard Lewis. This is an amusing little incident but doesn't have fantasy ramifications -- Mason doesn't have value whether or not he's active.

Fri Dec 9 201118:59G Roger Mason back with Wizards
Guard Roger Mason has signed with the Wizards and was in training camp with them on Friday.
It's a crowded backcourt in Washington and it's going to be very tough for Mason to make an impact unless a starter suffers an injury. Ignore him for now.

Wed Dec 7 201119:19Mason leaning toward signing with Wizards
Free agent guard Roger Mason is leaning toward signing with the Wizards.
Perhaps the Wizards are looking for him to provide a calming influence in the locker room, but he's not likely to see the court on a team looking to develop its young players. There's no fantasy value here.

Mon Nov 28 201114:06Mason courted by Wizards, Knicks, Celtics?
According to Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner, Roger Mason said that Andray Blatche, Ray Allen and Carmelo Anthony have all lobbied for him to sign with their team.
Mason spent last season with the Knicks, but it sounds like both the Wizards and Celtics might be interested in bringing the veteran aboard as well. Mason had previously stated that he'd like to return to New York, but his stance could easily change. He'd be a veteran serving as depth off the bench regardless of where he signed, and wouldn't amass any sort of fantasy value.

Thu Nov 3 201116:19Roger Mason says meetings will resume Sat.
Roger Mason said on Thursday that the players union and owners will resume meeting and negotiating on Saturday.
There's a lot of talk about the season still starting on Dec. 1 today, but this meeting will have to go very well for that to happen. The meeting was reported earlier, but it was unclear if it would really happen or not.

Wed Sep 14 201116:21Roger Mason admits Twitter wasn't hacked
Speaking on ESPN Radio Wednesday, Roger Mason admitted that his Twitter account was not hacked when he wrote "Looking like a season" last week.
Mason says that the tweet in question was meant to be a text, which explains the conclusion of the phrase "How u" in the tweet. More relevantly now that talks have turned in a considerably less positive direction, Mason told ESPN Radio that it's "very unlikely" that the season will begin on time, and said that decertification is "not a plan for us right now."

Wed Sep 7 201116:57Union rep Mason: 'Looking like a season'
Following Wednesday's five-plus hours of bargaining between the players and owners, NBA union representative Roger Mason tweeted: "Looking like a season."
It's not the most thorough update, but appears to be the latest note of optimism in the ongoing talks, which are scheduled to continue on Thursday. Stay tuned.

Tue Aug 16 201110:38Roger Mason to sign with Hapoel Jerusalem?
Roger Mason is expected to sign with Hapoel Jerusalem for the duration of the lockout.
The deal will include an out clause to return to the NBA, but this is a larger sign of how stagnant negotiations have become between players and owners. Mason is a VP of the NBPA, and he has expressed his frustration with the pace of the talks several times on Twitter in recent weeks. Hapoel is the same team that Mason played with in 2005.

Tue Aug 2 201110:23NBA Files Unfair Labor Practice Against NBPA
The NBA has filed an unfair labor practice charge and a federal lawsuit against the NBPA.
Here's the official statement from the NBA: "The unfair labor practice charge asserts that the Players Association has failed to bargain in good faith by virtue of its unlawful threats to commence a sham "decertification" and an antitrust lawsuit challenging the NBA's lockout. It's safe to say that the two sides are as far apart as ever.

Tue Jun 21 201115:43David Stern: NBA targeting $62 million cap
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that David Stern is targeting a $62 million salary cap in negotiations.
It seems like the owners have backed off of their demand for a hard cap, which is positive news because the players would never accept that. The "flex cap" would allow certain teams to go exceed the limit or operate beneath it, so it should be interesting to see where negotiations move from this point. Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver said the new flex cap would be comparable to the NHL's current structure.

Thu Oct 21 201000:25Mason plays just 18 minutes on Wednesday
Roger Mason, whose name has been floated as the possible starting SG for the Knicks, played just 18 minutes off the bench on Wednesday, finishing with four points on 1-of-6 shooting with four rebounds and two assists.
He has lost a ton of steam in the race for the Knicks' starting SG spot, and unless we see or hear something to make us do otherwise, we'll be looking at Toney Douglas, Bill Walker, or even Kelenna Azubuike before taking Mason.
Thu Oct 14 201010:14Knicks could start Mason as SG
The Knicks could end up starting Roger Mason at shooting guard and Amare Stoudemire at center.
Timofey Mozgov and Anthony Randolph don't appear ready to start at center, so this may be coach Mike D'Antoni's best option. It would also allow Wilson Chandler to play his natural small forward spot. Mason is now on the deep-league radar as a final-round flier.
