Tue Sep 29 201516:29Anderson (ankle) held out of Tuesday's practice
Anderson (ankle) was held out of Tuesday's practice, Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post reports.
Anderson had offseason surgery to remove bone spurs from his left ankle, and he admitted over the weekend that he's still not at 100 percent. "We don't want to force anything and get me out there too early, try to force an issue with me getting out there faster than I should be," Anderson said. "I'm coming along good. Training camp is here we'll see how much I can do." Anderson is without a timetable at this point, but the Wizards certainly won't rush him back and are comfortable with Otto Porter, Kelly Oubre and Martell Webster all healthy at the small forward spot.
Tue Jul 7 201517:23Anderson agreed to terms with Wizards on one-year
Anderson agreed to terms with the Wizards on a one-year, $4 million deal Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Anderson spent last season with the Nets, appearing in 74 games and averaging 7.4 points to go with 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. The veteran will add depth to the Wizards' backcourt, and he figures to see time at both shooting guard and small forward. Anderson is somewhat of a similar player to Jared Dudley, who the Wizards acquired last week, so it will be interesting to note which of the two emerges as the more prominent fixture in the rotation.

Anderson has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent, ESPN.com reports.
Anderson, who averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 74 games last season, will seek more long-term security with a new contract. At 32 years old, the veteran swingman could add decent depth to a team's rotation, but he may have to wait until more marquee players make their free agent decisions before ultimately finding a landing spot.

Anderson appeared in 74 games for the Nets in 2014-15, posting averages of 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three.
The 32-year-old primarily came off the bench, but he made 19 starts on the season, including a stretch of 16 in a row from late-January to early-March. Over that span, Anderson averaged 10.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 48.4 percent from the field. Coach Lionel Hollins would end up inserting rookie Markel Brown into the starting five over the final month of the season, relegating Anderson to a bench role. Anderson scored in double-figures six times over the final 14 games of the season before hitting the shelf with an ankle injury, which would cause him to sit out the final six games of the regular season. Able to return for the start of the Nets' first-round series against Atlanta, Anderson appeared in all six games, averaging 11.0 points and 3.5 rebounds (61.0% FG, 62.5% 3Pt) off the bench. He was particularly effective in Game 5, scoring 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting in 32 minutes. The veteran holds a player option to return to Brooklyn next season, but he recently stated that he plans to decline the option in hopes of landing a more lucrative, longer-term deal on the open market. Considering he doesn't have much upside at this point in his career, the Nets would likely be content to let Anderson walk.
Tue May 12 201515:40Alan Anderson: (Ankle) Gets Bone Spurs Removed Tuesday
Anderson underwent a procedure Tuesday to remove bone spurs from his ankle, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reports.
Anderson, who will decline his player option and become a free agent this offseason, will likely be on the shelf for a few weeks, but his recovery is not expected to impact his status for next season. The 32-year-old appeared in 74 games this season, averaging 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 44.3 percent from the floor and 34.8 percent from three.
Wed May 6 201512:12Anderson expected to have ankle cleaned out this offseason
Anderson is expected to have his ankle cleaned out this offseason, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports.
Anderson missed the final seven games of the regular season with a sprained ankle, but he returned to average 23.7 minutes over the Nets' six-game series against Atlanta. He played well in the postseason, shooting 61 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from three, but he's apparently still bothered by the ankle. The 32-year-old's future with the team is up in the air this summer, as he said last week that he plans to decline his player option in hopes of landing a longer-term deal in Brooklyn or elsewhere.
Sat May 2 201510:57Anderson will test market and pick up player option with Nets
Anderson will test the market and pick up his player option with the Nets, Rod Boone of Newsday reports.
Anderson likely wants a more long-term commitment at the age of 32 than a single-year player option and could find that from a team needing a reliable wing that can play 20 minutes per game.

Anderson scored a team-high 23 points (9-11 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with seven rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench Wednesday.
It was easily Anderson's best game of the series so far, but it wasn't enough to get the Nets a win. He's a decent scoring option off the bench for Brooklyn, but don't expect another game like this on Friday as the club tries to avoid elimination.

Anderson (ankle) posted five points, one rebound, one assist, and one steal in 16 minutes of action in Game 1's loss to the Hawks.
Anderson apparently played without a minutes restriction, so it would be fairly reasonable to expect 15-18 minutes from him each night. He's a solid role player who can provide long-range depth for the Nets, but probably won't produce at a strong rate consistently.
Sun Apr 19 201516:19Alan Anderson: (Ankle) Will Return Sunday
Anderson (ankle) will play without a minutes restriction in Sunday's Game 1 against the Hawks, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports.
Anderson sprained his left ankle at the beginning of April and missed the final seven games of the regular season as a result. He's averaging 23.6 minutes per game this season and apparently coach Lionel Hollins has the option of playing the 32-year-old in his normal role off the bench Sunday.
Fri Apr 17 201513:30Anderson (ankle) took part in Friday's practice
Anderson (ankle) took part in Friday's practice, Rod Boone of Newsday reports.
Anderson sat out the final seven games of the regular season with a sprained ankle, and he continues to be considered questionable to play in Sunday's playoff opener. His participation in practice Friday is certainly an encouraging sign, but the team will wait to see how the ankle reacts Saturday morning before updating his status.

Anderson (ankle) is considered questionable to play in the postseason opener Sunday, ESPN's Mike Mazzeo reports.
Anderson, who missed the final seven regular season games, is dealing with a sprained ankle, and coach Lionel Hollins said Thursday that he's unsure how close Anderson is to returning. More information should be available after practice Friday or Saturday.
Wed Apr 15 201518:05Anderson (ankle) will not play Wednesday
Anderson (ankle) will not play Wednesday, David Kharpertian of The Brooklyn Game reports.
Anderson will have missed the final seven games of the regular season, but he should have a chance to return in the playoffs, should the Nets qualify. Jarrett Jack and Bojan Bogdanovic will continue to pick up some extra minutes in Anderson's place.

Anderson (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's regular season finale against the Magic, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports.
Anderson has missed the last six games, including Monday's loss to the Bulls, but it sounds as though he's hoping he'll be able to play through the pain Wednesday. The Nets need the Pacers to drop at least one of their final two games to have a chance at leaping them for the final playoff spot in the East.
Mon Apr 13 201517:11Anderson (ankle) will not play Monday against Bulls
Anderson (ankle) will not play Monday against the Bulls.
Anderson will be sidelined for the sixth straight game while he battles what is apparently a pretty severely sprained ankle. Expect Jarrett Jack and Bojan Bogdanovic to continue to absorb the bulk of his minutes.
Sat Apr 11 201517:57Anderson (ankle) won't play Sunday in Milwaukee
Anderson (ankle) won't play Sunday in Milwaukee, Newsday reports.
Anderson didn't travel with the Nets to Milwaukee, forcing his fifth consecutive DNP. His next opportunity to suit up will arrive Monday versus the Bulls.

Anderson (ankle) will miss his fourth straight game Friday against the Wizards, Rod Boone of Newsday reports.
Anderson continues to sit out after spraining his ankle against the Raptors a week ago. He's currently without a timetable, but the Nets would certainly like to have him back as they fight to hold onto the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. Entering Friday, Brooklyn leads the Pacers by one game.
Wed Apr 8 201515:24Anderson (ankle) will miss third straight game Wednesday against...
Anderson (ankle) will miss his third straight game Wednesday against the Hawks, Andy Vasquez of The Record reports.
Anderson sprained his ankle agains the Raptors on Friday, and he apparently hasn't made significant progress over the last few days. The Nets have been mostly mum on the situation, so consider Anderson questionable for Friday's matchup with Washington.
Sun Apr 5 201514:45Anderson (ankle) will not play in Monday's game against Trail Bl...
Anderson (ankle) will not play in Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, Andy Vasquez of The Record reports.
With Anderson set to miss a second straight game, the Nets will spread his minutes among some combination of Markel Brown, Bojan Bogdanovic and Earl Clark, with Thaddeus Young and Joe Johnson also possibly picking up a bit of extra playing time. Given Anderson's minimal role in the offense, his absence won't have much impact on the value of his teammates.
Fri Apr 3 201523:00Anderson sprained left ankle in fourth quarter of Friday's game ...
Anderson sprained his left ankle in the fourth quarter of Friday's game and will not travel to Atlanta for the Nets' next game against the Hawks.
X-rays taken on Anderson's injured ankle came back negative, but he will miss at least one game with the Nets playing Saturday for the second time in two nights. Consider Anderson questionable for the following game Monday against the Trail Blazers.
