Sizemore could still be a part of the Phillies' future plans despite having his playing time decrease lately, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "I think he would be considered for next year," manager Ryne Sandberg said. "It's important also to see what the other guys, with these games, how they can fit in for next year."
Sizemore had seen fairly regular playing time after signing with the Phillies, but has made just two starts since Aug. 11. The Phillies are currently giving Darin Ruf and Domonic Brown most of the starts in left field while Ben Revere has locked down most of the playing time in center with his recent offensive surge.

GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said the Phillies may have some interest in resigning Sizemore this offseason, the team's official site reports.
Sizemore has hit .309/.350/.436 with a home run in 27 games with the Phillies since they called him up from the minors in July. He should continue to play fairly regularly if the Phillies are indeed looking at the possibility of signing him to a contract. They'll want to see that Sizemore can stay healthy with regular playing time given his significant injury history.
Mon Aug 11 201410:26Sizemore out of lineup Monday against Mets
Sizemore is out of the lineup Monday against the Mets.
Sizemore will sit after starting nine of the past 10 games in the outfield. It's unclear how his role will be affected by the return of Domonic Brown, but the 31 year-old is bidding for playing time by hitting .315/.358/.427 in 25 games with the Phillies. Darin Ruf will start in left field and bat sixth Monday.
Tue Aug 5 201415:24Sizemore not in lineup Tuesday versus Astros
Sizemore is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Astros.
It looks like nothing more than a scheduled day off for Sizemore, who has started the Phillies' last six games. Darin Ruf will take over in left field, joining Marlon Byrd and Ben Revere in the starting outfield.
Tue Jul 29 201422:08Sizemore hits first NL homer as the Phils win
Grady Sizemore went yard for the first time as the member of a National League team, hitting a solo home run to right field in Tuesday's win against the Mets.
It was the 142nd career home run for the veteran outfielder. The prior 141 had all come as a member of an American League squad. Sizemore took starter Dillon Gee out to right field in the fourth to pad the Phillies' lead to 2-0. Since joining the Phillies, Sizemore is slashing .314/.352/.451 in 54 plate appearances. Should the Phillies trade Marlon Byrd, Sizemore would be in line for even more playing time.

Fri Jul 25 201422:40Grady Sizemore has three hits in Phillies win
Grady Sizemore went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, helping to lead the Phillies in Friday's victory over the Diamondbacks.
Hitting out of the leadoff spot in the Philiies lineup, Sizmore looked like the dynamic outfielder of old, scoring a pair of runs, netting an RBI and even swiping his sixth base of the season. As long as he's seeing regular playing time, he's a viable option as a fourth or fifth outfielder in deep mixed leagues.

Fri Jul 11 201422:18Sizemore singles, scores run in Phils' debut
Grady Sizemore went 1-for-4 with a single and a run scored in his Phillies' debut on Friday against the Nationals.
Sizemore, who signed a minor league deal with the Phillies last month, batted leadoff and played center field in his debut. He's expected to play a few times a week, likely filling in at all three outfield positions. The 31-year-old hit just .216 with a .612 OPS before the Red Sox cut him loose, so we aren't expecting much at this point, but he could be worth a flier in NL-only formats.

Thu Jul 10 201420:41Phillies call up Grady Sizemore from Triple-A
Phillies purchased the contract of OF Grady Sizemore from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
They had to prior to the All-Star break or Sizemore was likely to opt out of his contract. The 31-year-old batted .289/.360/.378 with one homer over 10 games for Lehigh Valley to earn the promotion. He hit only .216/.288/.324 for the Red Sox before being released, however, and is no safe bet to turn it around in Philly. Sizemore also isn't guaranteed regular playing time.

Tue Jun 24 201418:14Grady Sizemore has opt-out at All-Star break
Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports that Grady Sizemore can opt out of his minor league contract with the Phillies if he's not called up by the All-Star break.
Sizemore signed on with the Phillies Tuesday after being released by the Red Sox last week. He hit just .216/.288/.324 in 205 plate appearances for Boston and will obviously have to show more over the next three weeks in the minors to receive a promotion.

The Phillies were one of the first teams linked to Sizemore after the Red Sox released him last week and it didn't take long for a deal to be put in place. Sizemore will report to Lehigh Valley on Thursday and could work his way up to Philadelphia rather soon. He batted just .216/.288/.324 in 205 plate appearances for Boston.

Fri Jun 20 201415:04Phillies have reached out to Grady Sizemore
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Phillies are one of the teams that have reached out to Grady Sizemore.
It's not clear what level of interest they have, as Heyman notes that "there are others" interested in the outfielder. Sizemore was cut loose by the Red Sox this week and is now free to sign with anyone. He'll almost surely have to settle for a minor league contract.

Wed Jun 18 201413:48Red Sox give Grady Sizemore his release
Red Sox released OF Grady Sizemore.
The Sox are doing Sizemore a solid here, as he can look for a new job right away rather than having to wait 10 days to be traded or outrighted off the 40-man roster. Sizemore hit just .216/.288/.324 batting over 205 plate appearances for the Red Sox, but he did manage to stay healthy and should find someone willing to take a shot on him.

Tue Jun 17 201415:26Red Sox designate Sizemore for assignment
Red Sox designated OF Grady Sizemore for assignment.
Sizemore has made for a great story this season, but he simply hasn't produced enough. The 31-year-old has cool significantly since early April and owns an underwhelming .216/.288/.324 batting line over 205 plate appearances. The Red Sox have called up Garin Cecchini to take his place on the active roster.

Wed May 14 201423:48Grady Sizemore knocks in two
Grady Sizemore had two hits, two RBI and a walk Wednesday against the Twins.
After finishing April with a .208 average, Sizemore is at .323 with five walks in 31 at-bats this month. He's probably ready for another look in the leadoff spot, but since Dustin Pedroia is doing well up there now, it's unlikely Boston will make a change right away.

Grady Sizemore went 3-for-6 with the walk-off single in the 12th inning as the Red Sox beat the Reds 4-3 on Tuesday.
Sizemore notched three hits in the game, his second multi-hit contest in two games after going without one since April 13. His third hit was the most important, bringing in David Ortiz to give the Red Sox the victory. Despite the good game, Sizemore is hitting just .242 with a .698 OPS on the season.

Sun Apr 27 201415:52Grady Sizemore's struggles continue
Grady Sizemore went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays.
He's managed to stay healthy to this point, but Sizemore has been inconsistent at the plate. After hitting .343 with two homers over his first 10 games, the outfielder has just three hits in 37 at-bats since to drop his season line to .208/.275/.361. Fantasy owners might be best served to bench him until he gets back on track.

Sat Apr 19 201416:41Grady Sizemore goes 0-for-4 against Orioles
Grady Sizemore went 0-for-4 on Saturday to drop his average to .245.
Sizemore is 1-for-18 in his last four starts. It should be nothing more than a fluke, but he's really struggled in his time in the leadoff spot this season, going 3-for-26 with no extra-base hits and one walk in six games. He's 10-for-27 with four extra-base hits and three walks while hitting fifth or sixth.
