Fri Jun 11 201015:53Red Sox place Hermida on 15-day DL
Red Sox placed outfielder Jeremy Hermida on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 10, with fractured ribs.
Adrian Beltre would be a whole lot more valuable to the Red Sox if he didn't keep putting outfielders on the DL. His collisions with Jacoby Ellsbury and Hermida resulted in fractured ribs for both. Bill Hall, Darnell McDonald and Josh Reddick will continue to share time in left field and in center when Mike Cameron can't go.

Sat Jun 5 201016:56Hermida's CT scan confirms forearm contusion
Jeremy Hermida underwent a CT scan on his left forearm Saturday that only confirmed his original diagnoses of a contusion.
Hermida collided with third baseman Adrian Beltre in the second inning Friday and he grew worried when he woke up Saturday with Jacoby Ellsbury-like rib soreness. Everything seems to be fine, though, and he's being called "day-to-day" by the Red Sox's medical team.

Fri Jun 4 201021:09Hermida departs with apparent injury
Jeremy Hermida left Friday's game against the Orioles with an apparent injury.
Hermida collided with third baseman Adrian Beltre in the third inning, eerily reminiscent of what sent Jacoby Ellsbury on the disabled list with broken ribs. Hermida stayed in the game until the bottom of the fifth. It appeared that trainers were looking at his left arm, but it's unclear whether it was a result of the collision. Darnell McDonald came in to play center field, with Bill Hall moving over to left.

Tue May 4 201022:19Hermida (quad) returns with winning double
After missing three games with a sore quad, Jeremy Hermida returned to the lineup and smacked a game-winning three-run double in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 5-1 victory over the Angels.
With a short-handed outfield, Hermida was missed, and there's nothing like a bases-loaded double late in a tie game to ingratiate yourself back with the team. Hermida's drive off Kevin Jepsen broke a 1-1 tie and pushed his RBI total to 13. He's now hitting .255/.317/.491 as a valuable AL-only commodity.
Sun May 2 201012:45Hermida hopes to return Sox's lineup soon
Jeremy Hermida, who has been hampered by a sore quad, hopes to return to the Red Sox's lineup early next week.
The Sox are short handed in their outfield, so having Hermida available soon will be a boost to them. He's obviously not their first choice of outfielder to return--that would be Jacoby Ellsbury--but he's a better choice than Jonathan Van Every for day-to-day play.

Sat May 1 201016:27Hermida held out Saturday with sore quad
Jeremy Hermida was held out of Saturday's lineup with a sore left quad.
Hermida felt the soreness Friday night after a controversial double play. He's also coping with a little hamstring tightness and might not return to the Red Sox' lineup until early next week.
