Sun Dec 28 201415:00DeAngelo Williams: (Hand) Out Sunday
Williams (hand) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Williams was listed as probable, but with his hand still not fully healthy, and with Jonathan Stewart expected to start anyway, the Panthers will keep Williams sidelined and roll with Fozzy Whittaker as the lone backup to Stewart.
Fri Dec 26 201413:09DeAngelo Williams: (Hand) Probable For Sunday
Williams (hand) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Steve Reed of The Associated Press press.
Williams is set to return to action this week after missing the last three games. Just how much work he receives remains to be seen, however, as head coach Ron Rivera said Williams still has to prove his hand does not limit him on the field. With Williams' hand not quite 100 percent, and fellow running back Jonathan Stewart running well of late, fantasy owners still alive in Week 17 may want to look in a different direction.
Wed Dec 24 201415:01DeAngelo Williams: (Hand) Practices Fully Wednesday
Williams (hand) practiced fully Wednesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
With an unhinged practice in his back pocket, Williams is seemingly on track to suit up Sunday in Atlanta. However, during his three-game stay on the sideline due to a fractured finger, his replacement, Jonathan Stewart, totaled 352 yards on 66 rushes, good for 5.3 YPC. According to the Associated Press, coach Ron Rivera is expected to stick with Stewart as the Panthers' lead runner in Week 17, which hinders Williams' value. Williams is thus on track to take on a complementary role, which could still prove fruitful against a Falcons defense that has surrendered a league-high 22 touchdowns to running backs this season.
Sun Dec 21 201411:42Williams (hand) inactive for Sunday's game against Browns
Williams (hand) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns.
Williams would have been available in an emergency situation, but with Jonathan Stewart and Fozzy Whittaker both healthy, he won't be needed Sunday. We'll revisit his status leading up to next Sunday's regular season finale at Atlanta.

Williams (hand) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. However, coach Ron Rivera said that Williams is still not comfortable in pass protection with his injured hand and would probably only be available in an emergency situation, the Associated Press' Steve Reed reports.
It will likely be another week of Jonathan Stewart leading the way for the Panthers, with Fozzy Whittaker available as the backup.
Thu Dec 18 201415:02DeAngelo Williams: (Hand) In Line To Play Sunday
Coach Ron Rivera said Thursday that Williams (hand) is in line to suit up Sunday versus the Browns, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
For a second consecutive day, Williams logged a limited showing in drills. While Rivera set the table for Williams' return, the running back isn't a definite candidate to play in Week 16, as he'll soon be fitted for a playing cast. If his abilities to pass protect and catch balls are at all hindered, Williams may sit out for a third game in row. Consequently, expect Friday's injury report to provide clarity, one way or the other, regarding his availability.
Wed Dec 17 201415:42DeAngelo Williams: (Hand) Limited Wednesday
Williams (hand) was limited in practice Wednesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Williams fit in limited practices last week, yet he still was handed inactive status this past Sunday against the Buccaneers, marking his second DNP in a row. Clearly, the fractured finger in his hand is still hindering him, but as the week rolls on, his status for Week 16 against the Browns could receive clarity.
Sun Dec 14 201411:39Williams (hand) inactive for Sunday's game against Buccaneers
Williams (hand) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
Williams' hand is still healing, so the Panthers will go with Jonathan Stewart as the starter Sunday, with Fozzy Whittaker serving as the backup. We'll revisit Williams' status leading up to next weekend's matchup with the Browns.

Williams (hand) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, the Charlotte Observer's Jonathan Jones reports.
Head coach Ron Rivera said Williams could be available in an emergency if something happened to one of the other running backs over the weekend, but the most likely scenario is that Williams will be inactive Sunday. Jonathan Stewart will again be the starter for Carolina.
Thu Dec 11 201416:21DeAngelo Williams: (Hand) Limited Thursday
Williams (hand) was limited in Thursday's practice.
Despite the return to drills, coach Ron Rivera told Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer that Williams likely requires another week before making an in-game appearance. Friday's injury report could confirm Williams' lack of availability for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, but even if he's handed questionable status, it may be a stretch to expect him to play in Week 15. If so, Jonathan Stewart (hip) is ready and willing to handle the bulk of the RB workload for a second game in a row.
Thu Dec 11 201412:14Williams (hand) present for Thursday's practice
Williams (hand) was present for Thursday's practice, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports.
While Williams' presence on the field Thursday is a positive development, Jones notes that the running back's right hand was heavily wrapped Thursday. We'll circle back on Williams' status later in the day, once the Panthers officially classify his level of participation.
Wed Dec 10 201412:26Williams (hand) did not practice Wednesday
Williams (hand) did not practice Wednesday, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Williams' status for Sunday's game against the Bucs thus remains uncertain, though the running back's Week 15 playing prospects could brighten with a return to the practice field -- in any capacity -- either Thursday or Friday.

Coach Ron Rivera suggested Monday that Williams (hand) is "day-by-day" in advance of Sunday's game against the Bucs, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
With Williams out this past Sunday against the Saints, fellow RB Jonathan Stewart logged 20 carries for 155 yards. In spite of Stewart's productive Week 14 effort, Rivera isn't inclined to name the running back as the Panthers' starter this week, which suggests that when Williams is able to suit up again, a time-share figures to be in play once again in the Carolina backfield.

Williams (finger) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints, the Charlotte Observer's Jonathan Jones reports.
With Williams out due to a fractured finger, the Panthers' Week 14 running back picture moves into focus. Jonathan Stewart will start, with Fozzy Whittaker working in as the backup. Williams will set his sights on a possible Week 15 return against Tampa Bay.
Thu Dec 4 201414:51DeAngelo Williams: (Finger) Likely Out Sunday
Coach Ron Rivera has all but ruled out Williams for Sunday's contest in New Orleans, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Williams sustained a fractured finger this past Sunday in Minnesota, so his potential absence isn't unexpected. He could be ruled out upon the release of Friday's injury report, but Jonathan Stewart appears poised to handle running back responsibilities in Week 14.

Coach Ron Rivera relayed Monday that Williams is dealing with a fractured bone in his finger, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
The report indicates that Williams is day-to-day, with Rivera suggesting that Williams could play Sunday against the Saints if the swelling in the running back's finger subsides. In the event that Williams is out or limited at all this weekend, Jonathan Stewart's Week 14 fantasy value would see a boost.

Coach Ron Rivera indicated Monday that Williams suffered a hand injury Sunday against the Vikings.
The report relays that the extent of injury is unclear at this stage, adding that Williams could see a specialist soon. If he is forced to miss action as the result of the injury, Jonathan Stewart's fantasy value would get a boost heading into Week 14.
Sun Nov 30 201416:17Williams suffered arm injury in Sunday's loss to Vikings
Williams suffered an arm injury in Sunday's loss to the Vikings.
Williams produced just 21 yards on seven carries, and was not a factor in the passing game. Jonathan Stewart ending up leading the rushing attack, collecting 85 yards on 12 carries (7.1 YPC). Few details regarding the injury are currently known, but if Williams ends up having to miss time, Stewart would clearly be the main beneficiary.

Williams (foot) had 10 carries for 41 yards and caught his lone target for negative three yards in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Falcons.
Williams missed some practices earlier in the week, but led Carolina in rushing Sunday, as Jonathan Stewart had only seven carries for 24 yards. Even though Williams is the starter, Stewart is probably a better fantasy asset because of his superior receiving and goal-line skills. The state of Carolina's offense limits both players' upside, however. Williams won't play next week, with the Panthers on bye, but he'll be back in Week 13 against the Vikings.
Sun Nov 16 201411:36Williams (foot) active for Sunday's game against Falcons
Williams (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Head coach Ron Rivera said Friday that Williams will start at running back ahead of Jonathan Stewart. However, he was quick to note that Stewart will still receive a significant chunk of the workload, and the two backs split the carries nearly evenly in last Monday night's loss to the Eagles (13 carries for Williams, 11 for Stewart). Williams also lost an early fumble that certainly didn't endear himself to the coaching staff. He's a low-level play this week, even against a vulnerable Atlanta run defense.
