Mon Mar 21 201113:47Ilguaskas has foot with infection wrapped
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (foot infection) still has his foot wrapped and has not engaged in any team workouts.
He has made his way back into the gym but he's still sporting the wrap. He's getting closer to returning but it's safe to say that he's still out.

Sat Mar 19 201123:02Ilgauskas (foot) does not play on Saturday
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (foot) did not play on Sunday against the Nuggets.
Erik Spoelstra is still unsure when Big Z will return, but it is of no concern to fantasy owners. The center position in Miami is a fantasy wasteland, but then again, so is any position not manned by a Super Friend.

Wed Mar 16 201111:20Ilgauskas out Wednesday
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (foot infection) will not play against the Thunder Wednesday.
Ilgauskas is going to take his sweet time after his nasty infection. We are likely to have another Juwan Howard sighting tonight.

Tue Mar 15 201110:16Ilgauskas doubtful for Wednesday
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (foot infection) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.
Ilgauskus spent two days in the hospital over the weekend, so we doubt he's close to playing again. Juwan Howard and Jamaal Magloire have picked up the slack for bit big man minutes.

Mon Mar 14 201111:38Ilguaskas officially out with foot infection
The Miami Heat have officially declared Zydrunas Ilgauskas out for Monday's game against San Antonio.
Jamaal Magloire saw some reserve minutes in Big Z's place on Saturday and may see a return as Ilgauskas continues to sit.

Sun Mar 13 201119:33Big Z out of the hospital
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (foot infection) is out of the hospital but is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Spurs.
Ilgauskas stepped on a nail a few days back and it punctured his shoe. He actually played through the issue on Thursday, but then the infection worsened. Big is averaging just 16.6 minutes per game off the bench for the Heat anyway.

Sun Mar 13 201114:17Ilgauskas doubtful Monday with foot infection
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (foot) is doubtful to play in Monday's matchup against the Spurs.
Ilgauskas was admitted to a hospital after stepping on a nail led to an infection. He has been released but is not expected to play in Monday's game. Jamaal Magloire saw the majority of his minutes in Saturday's game so it's a good guess that he could see another appearance on the floor.

Sat Mar 12 201114:02Ilgauskas out w/ infected foot on Saturday
Zydrunas Ilgauskas will not play on Saturday due to a foot infection -- he stepped on a nail that went through his shoe.
Miami will dip deeper into their nondescript corp of big men, including Joel Anthony, Juwan Howard and Erik Dampier. We may even be treated to a glimpse of (former All-Star) center Jamaal Magloire.

Wed Mar 9 201111:29Ilgauskas will retire after season?
Zydrunas Ilgauskas has reportedly told a Lithuanian newspaper that he will retire after the season.
Heat beat writer Ira Winderman confirms that Ilgauskas has been telling those inside the team the same thing. He has played in 61 games for the Heat so far this year, but is averaging just 16.5 minutes and taking 4.5 shots per game.

Mon Jan 31 201122:46Big Z double-doubles in win over Cavs
Zydrunas Ilgauskas hit just 5-of-14 shots but finished with 12 points, 14 rebounds and a block in a win over his former team on Monday.
He'll do this occasionally, but is not reliable enough to be starting in most fantasy leagues.
Tue Dec 28 201023:31Ilgauskas double-doubles in just 14 minutes
Zydrunas Ilgauskas double-doubled in just 14 minutes of action on Tuesday, scoring 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting with 10 rebounds and one block.
Every now and again he'll show up like this, but he's nowhere near productive enough to be owned in fantasy leagues.
Thu Dec 9 201001:31Ilgauskas posts big double-double in win
Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 16 points and 10 rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting as the Heat won their sixth straight game by beating the Jazz on Wednesday.
Despite starting the last three games, and many before that, Big Z failed to score in any of them. Maybe this is an indictment on Al Jefferson, but regardless of what got into Ilgauskas tonight, continue to ignore him in fantasyland.
Fri Dec 3 201009:35Ilgauskas very quiet in return to Cleveland
Zydrunas Ilgauskas was embraced by Cavaliers' fans in his return to Cleveland, but he didn't attempt a FG or FT in 17 minutes of action.
Big Z picked up three fouls, but mostly the slow-footed center was limited because of poor matchups. Even though he's starting for Miami, he remains a marginal fantasy option.
Sun Nov 28 201001:17Big Z struggles in matchup with Tyson
Zydrunas Ilgauskas was a victim of matchups in Saturday's game against Tyson Chandler and the Mavs, and played just 11 minutes with no points, three rebounds, and two steals.
Anytime Big Z is going to head up against a quick and athletic center, expect Joel Anthony (29 minutes, no points, three boards, three blocks) to steal time away from hi. Erick Dampier was a non-factor, as well, with no points, one rebound, and no blocks in eight minutes.
Wed Nov 24 201003:17Ilgauskas to hold starting job with Damp in
As expected, Zydrunas Ilgauskas will remain the Heat's starting center, with newly acquired Erick Dampier to be worked in slowly off the bench.
Neither are particularly appealing fantasy options, but both could end up playing 20 minutes per game and providing low-end value in deeper leagues.

Mon Nov 22 201023:52Big Z scores 12 points with eight boards
Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting with eight rebounds, one assist, and four blocks in 22 minutes on Monday.
This is a good line for the big guy, and even though the Heat plan to sign Erick Dampier he should be good for 20 minutes per game and is worth a look if you need a center.
Wed Nov 17 201017:26Ilgauskas to start again on Wednesday
Zydrunas Ilgauskas will get the start against the Suns on Wednesday.
Big Z is coming off a 12-point, three-rebound, one-block effort in 30 minutes against Toronto and has a little bit of value in deeper formats while in the starting five (and the move is not expected to be permanent). Meanwhile, a matchup with the slow-footed Ilgauskas should mean good news for Channing Frye getting open looks on the perimeter.

Sun Nov 14 201000:02Big Z starts at center for the Heat
Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, no assists, and one block in 30 minutes of action on Saturday.
Nobody around the team thinks this can be a permanent solution, but he has about a million times more intrigue than previous starter Joel Anthony so we're all for it. If he can keep up 25+ minutes, then could end up having value in deeper leagues.
Sat Nov 13 201019:01Ilgauskas starting for Heat on Saturday
Zydrunas Ilgauskas will start for the Heat on Saturday in place of Joel Anthony.
Big Z said very recently that he's more comfortable as a bench player, but coach Erik Spoelstra seems to have overridden that preference. We don't imagine Ilgauskas will play a typical starter's minutes but he's definitely worth watching -- especially in deeper leagues.

Sat Nov 13 201011:32Big Z doesn't want to start for Heat
Even if the Heat change their starting lineup, Zydrunas Ilgauskas would prefer to come off the bench.
"I''m a bench player," Ilgauskas said. "I feel more comfortable coming off the bench, to be honest with you." Miami's platoon of centers already includes Joel Anthony, Jamaal Magloire, and Big Z -- and there are rumors that Miami is considering veteran FA Erick Dampier.
