Napier had a career-high eight assists with six points (3-6 FG) in 25 minutes in the loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Napier has played at least 22 minutes in his last four games. While his shooting has been hard to look at (33.3 percent from the field), 21.4 percent on 3-pointers), he has passed out 5.8 assists.

Napier scored five points (2-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt), to go with four rebounds, two assists and a steal in 21 minutes on Sunday.

Napier has been starting lately, but he really hasn't done anything to make him worth owning. With news that the Heat may be looking to move Norris Cole there may be more minutes opening up in the backcourt. However, even as a starter Napier hasn't really done much to make him worth owning lately. For now leave him on the waiver wire until the situation in Miami clears up.

Napier finished Friday's game with eight points (3-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and three turnovers in 17 minutes.

The Heat were in their first game without Dwyane Wade (hamstring) who is going to miss 2-3 weeks. They decided to go with a point guard tandem, and started Napier and Chalmers together. Chalmers played 35 minutes, more than doubling Napier's minute total. Norris Cole came off the bench and played 20 minutes. Although Napier is starting, the Heat don't feel obligated to play him a ton of minutes. A wait and see approach might be best. Miami will face the Celtics in their next game on Sunday.

Napier will start against Dallas on Friday.

With Dwyane Wade (hamstring) out for at least 2-to-3 weeks, the Heat will first turn to a dual-point guard lineup of Napier and Mario Chalmers at the guard spots with Dallas coming to town. Although he had two encouraging consecutive starts against the Warriors and Kings on Jan. 14 and Jan. 16, respectively, Napier's per-minute production is generally modest. Chalmers is the more worthwhile fantasy consideration.

Napier was held scoreless Sunday, going 0-for-5 from the floor in 27 minutes. He did manage three rebounds and two assists, however.

Napier has laid two goose eggs in the scoring column in his last three games. Even though he's been seeing consistent time off the bench, he is simply not producing enough to be a viable option.

Napier returned to his role coming off the bench Tuesday with Dwayne Wade returning to the starting lineup. In 16 minutes of action, Napier had five points, four assists, and three rebounds.

When coming off the bench this season, Napier is averaging 5.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 20 minutes. Napier is a decent value play when he gets the start, but when Wade is in the lineup, his value is very limited.

Napier started Friday's game with Dwayne Wade out, but shot just 3-of-11 in 38 minutes. He salvaged his fantasy night by going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line, and finished the game with 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block.

This was Napier's second career start, and he even got the nod over the more experienced Norris Cole. In his first start Wednesday, Napier went 3-for-7 from the floor but did have six assists. If he's starting, Napier could be a daily option given that he'll play over 30 minutes, but if Wade is healthy, he won't see much of the floor.

Napier made the first start of his career Wednesday and put up 10 points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds, six assists, and one steal in 33 minutes.

Dwyane Wade (hamstring) sat out the game, and Napier was given the start instead of Norris Cole. Cole played 16 minutes off the bench. Napier should be added to all watch lists, and he might be a sneaky short-term play while Wade is out. If he gets enough minutes, Napier could be of help in points, assists, three-pointers, and steals.

Napier is getting the start over Norris Cole, who was the one-time starter for the Heat. This development is a little out of left field, and fantasy players should keep an eye on Napier's role going forward. Make sure he's on your watch lists.

Napier came off the bench for just five minutes against Portland on Thursday and only managed to record one assist during his short time on the court.

Napier just returned from a stint in the D-League on Tuesday and saw his first minutes on the court with the Heat since Dec. 17. The rookie's minutes have been curtailed in comparison to the start of the season and he currently doesn't hold much weight to fellow point guards Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole. That duo plus Dwyane Wade are given the majority of backcourt minutes which leaves little left over for Napier to amount much production.

Napier was recalled from the D-League on Tuesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Napier spent a week in the D-League and will rejoin the team for Thursday's game in Portland. The rookie is averaging 19.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in four D-League games this season. He hasn't appeared in an NBA game since Dec. 17.

Napier was assigned to the D-League on Tuesday.

He has spent most of the year with the Heat, playing in 25 games and averaging 5.7 points in 21 minutes per game. This is not his first assignment to the D-League, but he has previously only been down for one game before returning to Miami, and a similar run of transactions should follow here.

Napier was recalled from the D-League on Monday.

He was assigned to the D-League over the weekend, but will rejoin the Heat just two days later. Napier struggled with his shot prior to getting sent down, but in general he looks more than capable of playing at the NBA level, and should remain with the Heat for most of the season, serving as a backup for Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers.

Napier has been assigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the D-League on Saturday.

This comes as a bit of a surprise, as Napier was a regular part of the Heat's backcourt rotation. He was shooting a woeful 23.1 percent from the field over his last five games, but he still boasts a 42.9 percentage on the season. Look for him to tear it up in the D-League and rejoin the Heat in short order.

Napier played 18 minutes on Monday, scoring 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, going 3-of-6 from three, with two rebounds, and three assists.

Napier was one of three rookies to help spark the Heat's play against the Nets. His six turnovers are atrocious, but for a rookie who plays sporadically, his aggressiveness to be able to fill up the stat sheet is highly encouraging. Coach Spoelstra has been playing with his lineups lately especially because the Heat have been struggling to find any offensive rhythm. If injuries continue to remain a factor, Napier could actually get minutes throughout the season.

Napier came off the bench and played 26 minutes, scoring 7 points, handing out 3 assists, and grabbing 2 rebounds.

Miami's point guard rotation is still split among teammates Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers. Because of their instability at the position, none of the rotations will favor any one point guard at this stage. However, the amount of minutes he receives is a promising sign for the future.

Napier played 15 minutes and added 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists in the Heat's victory over the Wizards.

While the amount of minutes is a nice sign for the young rookie, don't expect him to be of much value anytime soon. The switch has been made at PG from Mario Chalmers to Norris Cole, so Napier is a third string option for the Heat at best.

Napier will come off the bench for the Heat this season and it is unclear how much playing time he will receive.

In the preseason, Napier averaged 11.4 points, 2.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds while having a .364 field goal percentage and .20 from three-point range. The 23-year-old did have one great game in the preseason against the Spurs where he finished with 25 points and four assists while making 12 out of his 14 free throws.

He hasn't played very well in summer league, making just 27.7 percent of his shots in Vegas and 27.3 percent of his shots in Orlando. Napier being so small has really hurt his ability to get a good shot, and it's even kept him from getting a clean look from beyond the arc. He has an opportunity in Miami, but it's not going to be easy.

Shabazz Napier shot 2-of-13 on Thursday against the Pacers, scoring seven points and dishing out five assists.

Napier's Summer League struggles continue as he had another horrible shooting display on Thursday. He is 14-of-51 over four games, and has committed 18 turnovers. Napier was an elite scorer in college, but he has struggled with the speed and size of the NBA game so far.
