Scheppers traveled back to Texas to have his ankle examined, after undergoing an MRI on Monday. In the likely event he's placed on the disabled list, he'll be eligible to make his season debut April 11. Once healthy, Scheppers is expected to work as the primary setup man in front of closer Neftali Feliz.

He's only pitched 3.2 innings in "A" games this spring, and would likely need to get in some more work in the final week before the season to be ready. His relief outings weren't much better -- four runs on four hits and two walks to go with four strikeouts in 4.2 innings -- but a lack of health was really the bane of his existence in 2014.
