Sun Apr 8 201216:33Blue Jays promote Laffey for bullpen help
Blue Jays purchased the contract of LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Laffey, a non-roster invitee, failed to make the club out of camp, but that was probably due to the fact that the Jays needed an additional starting pitcher in their opening series. Toronto will use the 26-year-old southpaw as a swingman for now, but he could be useful in deep AL-only leagues if he is able to crack the wide-open back-end of Toronto's rotation later on this season.

Fri Mar 30 201216:33Aaron Laffey takes loss to Twins
Aaron Laffey lost to the Twins after giving up four runs in five innings on Friday.
Laffey entered camp as the fallback for the fifth spot in Toronto's rotation, and he might get the spot because of Dustin McGowan's injury. It's doubtful he'd have any fantasy value.

Tue Mar 20 201223:45Laffey goes five innings vs. Red Sox in win
Aaron Laffey gave up two runs over five innings in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.
Laffey allowed just two hits (including a two-run homer by Kelly Shoppach) while fanning three and walking none. He now has a 2.70 ERA over 10 innings of work this spring and could be an option for the fifth spot in the rotation if Dustin McGowan isn't deemed ready.

Thu Mar 3 201113:01Laffey told to prepare as reliever
The Mariners have told the newly-acquired Aaron Laffey to prepare exclusively as a reliever.
Laffey was acquired from the Indians on Wednesday in exchange for infielder Matt Lawson and cash considerations. While the Indians have bounced him back and forth from the starting rotation to the bullpen over the past couple seasons, he'll have one clear role in Seattle. "It's nice to know,'' said Laffey. "I haven't had that in a spring training ever. I've always been coming in with question marks about where I'm going to be, especially the last two or three years.'' The Mariners may try to get him in a game as soon as Friday.

Wed Mar 2 201120:01M's acquire lefty Aaron Laffey from Indians
Mariners acquired LHP Aaron Laffey from the Indians for INF Matt Lawson and cash considerations.
The left-handed Laffey finished with a poor 4.53 ERA and 28/28 K/BB ratio across 55 2/3 innings last season while operating as both a starter and reliever for the Indians. His ERA may see improvement out in Seattle, but he simply doesn't have enough raw stuff. It's not yet known if the M's will use him in the rotation or the bullpen.

Wed Mar 2 201119:07Indians trade lefty Aaron Laffey to Mariners
Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Aaron Laffey has been traded to Seattle.
There's no word yet on what the Tribe will be getting in return. Laffey posted quality numbers throughout his minor league career and has shown flashes of potential in the majors. Perhaps the 25-year-old southpaw will be able to put it all together with a change of scenery. Making half of his appearances at Safeco Field will certainly help. He was being groomed as a potential member of the Cleveland starting rotation this spring.

Tue Feb 15 201118:23Laffey among candidates for fifth starter
Indians manager Manny Acta named Aaron Laffey among the candidates for the fifth starter job.
The Indians have moved Laffey back and forth from the bullpen to the starting rotation in the past, but they plan to establish his role early on in camp. Barring a last-minute addition, he'll compete with Jeanmar Gomez, Josh Tomlin and David Huff, among others, for the final spot in the rotation.

Sat Sep 18 201017:46Indians recall Aaron Laffey from AAA
Indians recalled LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Columbus.
Laffey is finally recovered from the shoulder fatigue that sidelined him for close to two months earlier this season. He may see some starts for the Indians down the stretch but probably isn't worth a look in fantasy leagues. The righty had a 4.62 ERA and 1.68 WHIP before getting injured.
Tue Aug 31 201018:10Tribe activates Laffey; sends him to minors
Indians activated LHP Aaron Laffey from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Columbus.
Laffey gave up two runs over 1 1/3 innings in his first rehab appearance last Tuesday, but has turned in two scoreless outings since. He still could return to the big league club sometime in September, but it depends on how his arm responds. The southpaw has been sidelined since July due to left shoulder fatigue.
