Blue Jays optioned RHP David Carpenter to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Well, that was fast. Carpenter was just called up Friday, but gave up four runs on three hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning against the Yankees. He figures to get another shot later this season.

Blue Jays recalled RHP David Carpenter from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Acquired in the J.A. Happ deal, Carpenter allowed two runs while striking out 14 over 9 1/3 innings for Vegas to earn the promotion. He put up a 6.07 ERA over 29 2/3 innings earlier this season for the Astros but did strike out 27.

Astros optioned RHP David Carpenter to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
He was cleared to make room for Tuesday's starter, Jordan Lyles, on the active roster. Carpenter has a 4.02 ERA and 14/10 K/BB ratio over 15 2/3 innings this season. We suspect he'll rejoin the Astros' bullpen at some point soon.

Astros recalled RHP David Carpenter from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
He'll take the place of Brian Esposito on the active roster. Carpenter, who was acquired from the Cardinals last August in the Pedro Feliz trade, has a 1.91 ERA at the minor league level this season, including a perfect 0.00 ERA and 21/6 K/BB ratio over 19 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 25-year-old right-hander is worth monitoring in this bullpen.

Astros acquired RHP David Carpenter from the Cardinals for 3B Pedro Feliz and cash considerations.
The Astros are probably happy to get just about anything in return after the awful season Pedro Feliz gave them. Carpenter has rattled off a 3.26 ERA in parts of three seasons in the minors, all as a reliever. The 25-year-old right-hander posted a 2.36 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 49 appearances with High-A Palm Beach this season, averaging 8.4 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9.
