Gerhart rushed three times for 19 yards and had three catches for 49 yards in Sunday's loss to Cincinnati.
With Denard Robinson seeing the majority of the workload (17 carries, 94 yards), Gerhart was again relegated to backup duties. That role figures to continue for the foreseeable future, as Robinson has taken a firm grasp on the starting job. Until he receives a larger share of the carries, Gerhart holds fairly minimal value in most leagues.

Gerhart (foot) rushed four times for 10 yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.
Gerhart returned to the field after missing a pair of games with a foot/ankle issue. He was an afterthought in the Jacksonville offense, though, playing second fiddle to Denard Robinson (18 carries, 108 yards), who now appears to have a fairly strong grasp on the starting job coming off of his second straight 100-yard effort. Gerhart is averaging just 2.6 yards per carry on the season and does not have a rush of more than 13 yards. As a result, he doesn't hold much value in standard leagues, and that doesn't figure to change unless he's able to regain the starting job.
Sun Oct 26 201411:32Gerhart (foot) active for Sunday's game against Dolphins
Gerhart (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Gerhart was able to get back on the practice field this week, and after logging a full day's work Friday, will return to action after a two-game absence. His exact role remains unclear, however, as Denard Robinson -- who logged 127 yards on the ground in Week 7 -- is expected to take the lead back role. Gerhart would seemingly be the likely candidate to see red zone touches, as the 27-year-old back has recorded twice the number of carries inside the 20 (6) as Robinson on the season. He'll take on a Miami defense that ranks No. 10 in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (100.3).

Gerhart (foot) practiced fully Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, the Jaguars' official site reports.
Gerhart is thus poised to return to action after missing the last two games, though Denard Robinson is expected to remain the team's lead back Sunday. Those digging deep should be aware that coach Gus Bradley indicated that Gerhart will likely see more Week 8 reps than Storm Johnson, but a wait-and-see approach is in order with Gerhart in most cases.

Though Gerhart (foot) is in line to see reps Sunday against the Dolphins, Denard Robinson is slated to start at running back for the Jaguars in the contest.
Gerhart (foot) practiced fully Thursday, and is thus slated to return to action this weekend, evidently in a complementary role. Gerhart's chances of carving out a more significant role beyond Week 8 hinge not only on re-proving his health, but presumably how well Robinson plays going forward, following his breakout effort in Week 7 against the Browns.
Wed Oct 22 201417:44Gerhart (foot) practiced in limited fashion Wednesday
Gerhart (foot) practiced in limited fashion Wednesday, the Jaguars' official site reports.
Coach Gus Bradley noted after practice Wednesday that Gerhart looked good during the session, which offers hope that the running back could return to action as soon as Sunday against the Dolphins. In such a scenario, however, it's unclear what Gerhart's role might be, given the strong effort turned in at running back by teammate Denard Robinson in Week 7.
Mon Oct 20 201419:22Gerhart (foot) will be evaluated on Wednesday
Gerhart (foot), who missed the last two games, will be evaluated on Wednesday, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Gerhart is nursing a foot/ankle injury, which he re-injured in Week 5 against the Steelers. Jacksonville has turned to the trio of Storm Johnson, Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman in his absence, and Robinson rushed for 125 yards in Sunday's victory over Cleveland. That's more yards than Gerhart has in total this season, so it's somewhat unclear what Gerhart's role will be when he's back in the mix.
Fri Oct 17 201416:46Gerhart (foot) ruled out for Sunday's game against Browns
Gerhart (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, the Jaguars' official site reports.
The report notes that Gerhart hopes that sitting out another contest will give him a better chance to return to action next week against the Dolphins. In his continued absence, the Florida Times-Union relays that coach Gus Bradley indicated that the Jaguars plan to roll with an approach in which Storm Johnson and Denard Robinson divide first-and second-down snaps, while Jordan Todman is on track to handle third-down duties. Of the three, Johnson -- who ran 10 times for 21 yards in Week 6 -- looks like the best bet to lead the team in carries on Sunday.
Fri Oct 17 201411:52Toby Gerhart: (Foot) No Practice Friday
Gerhart (foot) did not participate in Friday's practice, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.
Gerhart did not practice at all this week, so his chances of playing in Week 7 are not good. Expect the Jaguars to provide an update on Gerhart's status when they release their final injury report of the week following Friday's practice.
Thu Oct 16 201416:14Gerhart (foot) did not practice Thursday
Gerhart (foot) did not practice Thursday, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Gerhart, who sat out last week's loss to the Titans, is still recovering from a foot/ankle issue, and coach Gus Bradley said his status for Sunday's matchup with the Browns is up in the air at this point. "I think we're being cautious with him to make sure he's 100 percent before he returns," Bradley said. If Gerhart sits out, expect Storm Johnson and Denard Robinson to handle most of the workload, as the two split first-team reps Thursday.
Thu Oct 16 201414:05Gerhart (foot) slated to sit out Thursday's practice
Gerhart (foot) is slated to sit out Thursday's practice, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.
We'll revisit Gerhart's status Friday, but O'Halloran speculates that the running back could be held out of Sunday's game against the Browns. If that ends up being the case, the Jags would once again be in line to roll with a backfield comprised of Storm Johnson, Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman in Week 7.
Wed Oct 15 201412:48Gerhart (foot) won't practice Wednesday
Gerhart (foot) won't practice Wednesday, Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union reports.
The report notes that by sitting out Wednesday's session, Gerhart will have given his balky foot a full week of rest. It remains to be seen, however, how much (if at all) the running be will be able to practice on Thursday. On the plus side, per John Oehser of Jaguars.com, Gerhart indicates that he could still play Sunday against the Browns, despite Wednesday's missed practice.
Mon Oct 13 201413:39Gerhart will be evaluated again on Wednesday
Gerhart, who missed Sunday's loss to the Titans with a foot injury, will be evaluated again on Wednesday, Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union reports.
Gerhart's status for Week 7's game against the Browns thus remains cloudy. In his absence Sunday, Storm Johnson started and carried 10 times for 21 yards, while Denard Robinson ran five times for 22 yards and Jordan Todman carried three times for one yard. At this stage, none of the team's running back options are high-percentage fantasy plays, though we suppose that Gerhart could get a chance to reclaim his starting assignment at some point, once his health is re-established.
Fri Oct 10 201413:14Toby Gerhart: Out This Week
Gerhart (foot) is out for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Meanwhile, coach Gus Bradley indicated that the team will determine a starting running back for the contest later Friday, with Storm Johnson, Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman candidates for the assignment. While some form of committee is a plausible scenario, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Johnson (who had four carries for 27 yards last Sunday) get a chance to be a key cog in the team's Week 6 ground game.
Fri Oct 10 201412:00Gerhart (foot) not practicing Friday
Gerhart (foot) is not practicing Friday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.
After a full practice Wednesday, Gerhart has now missed two straight days of practice, which is generally a sign that a player is unlikely to play Sunday. There seem to be two possibilities here: the Jags are either resting Gerhart so he can be as close to 100 percent as possible Sunday, or he suffered a setback sometime after Wednesday's practice that is keeping him out. Hopefully the official injury designations (which will be released Friday afternoon) shed some more light on his status.
Thu Oct 9 201416:01Gerhart (foot) did not practice Thursday
Gerhart (foot) did not practice Thursday, John Oesher of Jaguars.com reports.
Gerhart practiced fully Wednesday, so at this stage it's unclear if his absence Thursday was maintenance-related or indicative of a setback with the ankle-foot issue that he has been dealing with this season. In any case, the report notes that Gerhart will be monitored as the week continues, but if he is limited or unavailable Sunday against the Titans, Storm Johnson could be a candidate to see added action in Week 6.

Gerhart (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday and is on track to play Sunday versus Tennessee.
Gerhart re-aggravated a foot/ankle injury during the first offensive series last week against the Steelers and was limited to only four carries and 10 total snaps. Barring a setback, he'll be the starter Sunday, though both Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson are expected to see a fair amount of snaps as well.

Gerhart re-irritated a foot/ankle injury early in Sunday's loss to the Steelers. "I was excited about this game," Gerhart said. "Finally, I had no lingering effects, then the second carry it gets irritated. I'll get treatment and be back and ready to go Sunday."
Gerhart has been battling a nagging foot/ankle issue since Week 2, and the re-irritation is the primary reason he saw only four carries and 10 snaps. Gerhart sounded optimistic that he'll be ready to go Sunday against Tennessee, though he may be limited during practice this week.

Gerhart rushed for just nine yards on four carries in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.
Gerhart's first season with the Jaguars has been a disaster thus far, as he's rushed for just 114 total yards through five games. Though coach Gus Bradley refuted after last week's loss that Gerhart had been "demoted," the fact that the bruising back only received four carries could be an indication that the team is looking elsewhere for production. Rookie Storm Johnson rushed for 27 yards on four carries, while Denard Robinson picked up six yards on three attempts. Gerhart was most effective in the passing game Sunday, notching one catch for 20 yards.
Sun Sep 28 201422:54Speaking after Sunday's game
Speaking after Sunday's game, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said that Gerhart (foot) has not been demoted, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports. "No, no, no, no," Bradley said when asked about a possible demotion. "Just trying and utilizing everybody's strengths."
While Gerhart will likely hold on to the starting job, second-string running back Denard Robinson could take on an increased role. The former college quarterback had nine carries for 25 yards and three receptions for seven yards in Sunday's game. Gerhart had 10 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown, adding one reception for eight yards, and also a lost fumble. Third-string back Jordan Todman recorded one carry for four yards and two receptions for 20 yards.
