Mon Jan 10 201122:40Report: Yanks unlikely to sign Bonderman
Jack Curry of YES Network writes that the Yankees are unlikely to sign free agent right-hander Jeremy Bonderman.
The Yankees are still monitoring what's left of the free agent starters, but won't gamble on the potential of a rebound season from Bonderman. The 28-year-old right-hander posted a 5.53 ERA and 112/60 K/BB ratio over 30 games (29 starts) with the Tigers last season and hasn't been an effective starter since 2006.

Tue Jan 4 201121:14Report: Yanks interested in Bonderman
According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, the Yankees have shown interest in free agent right-hander Jeremy Bonderman.
Shopping in the bargain bin. Bonderman posted a 5.53 ERA and 112/60 K/BB ratio over 30 games (29 starts) with the Tigers last season. Though he was finally healthy, his velocity was significantly lower than the early part of his career. Still, he's only 28 years old and won't cost much in the way of guaranteed salary.

Tue Nov 23 201009:27Tigers do not offer arbitration to Bonderman
The Tigers did not offer arbitration to Jeremy Bonderman.
An easy decision. Bonderman, 28, had a 5.53 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 30 big-league appearances this past year while striking out only 112 batters and walking 60. He'll be looking for an incentive-laden one-year deal.

Fri Oct 1 201020:24Bonderman blasted by Orioles
Jeremy Bonderman was smoked for a season-high nine runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Orioles in the first game of a doubleheader Friday.
After eight years in Detroit, this could be the end of the road for him. Bonderman finishes the year at 8-10 with a 5.53 ERA over 30 games (29 starts). The good news is that he finally managed to stay healthy this season -- and he doesn't turn 28 until later this month -- however his velocity has tapered off each season since his breakout year in 2006. A change of scenery, perhaps to the National League, could pay dividends.
Sun Sep 26 201012:30Bonderman doesn't expect to return to Detroit
Jeremy Bonderman said that he would be "real surprised" if the Tigers brought him back in 2011.
A pending free agent, Bonderman has had an up-and-down year in Detroit, but the most important thing is he's been able to stay relatively healthy. He has a lot of backers in upper management, but it's possible they could choose to go a different route and let the righty walk. Despite being an eight-year veteran, Bonderman doesn't turn 28 until late next month.

Sat Sep 25 201010:54Bonderman, Galarraga unlikely to both return
Lynn Henning of The Detroit News speculates that it's unlikely that Jeremy Bonderman and Armando Galarraga will both return to the Tigers next season.
Bonderman will be a free agent this offseason. Galarraga, meanwhile, is under team control through 2013, but his inconsistency could convince the Tigers to either bring Bonderman back or look for another replacement. Bonderman has lost a lot of his stuff but is a favorite of team management because of his aggressive approach and because of the fact that he "learned to pitch" this year while dealing with decreased velocity.

Wed Sep 8 201021:45Bonderman feeling really healthy now
Jeremy Bonderman dazzled the White Sox on Wednesday night with eight innings of one-run, three-hit ball.
It's Bonderman's longest outing since June 1 and it was hard to see coming. He struck out eight tonight, but hadn't struck out more than five in any of his last six starts. This is a gentle reminder that Bonderman has the stuff to throw gems, but his inconsistency leaves him as a risky spot-start option. We wouldnƒ?Tt trust him in Texas next week.
Sat Sep 4 201000:02Bonderman takes no-decision in return
Jeremy Bonderman (rib cage inflammation) returned to the mound with 7 1/3 innings of four-run ball against the Royals Friday night.
It's Bonderman's longest outing since June 1, so he is obviously feeling healthy. However, the former first-round pick walked five while striking out three, highlighting some of the problems that have swollen his ERA to 5.25. He's a risky play even in quality spot-start matchups like tonight.

Mon Aug 23 201022:43Bonderman earns first win since July
Jeremy Bonderman yielded two runs over six innings in a win over the Royals on Monday night.
He scattered eight hits while striking out three and walking none. Bonderman had a 9.39 ERA over his previous three starts, so it was nice to see him get back on track, even if it was against the Royals, who entered play Monday with a .245 team batting average this month. He remains a poor fantasy bet, however, especially with the hard-hitting Blue Jays on tap this weekend.
Sat Aug 14 201000:03Bonderman shelled by the Sox
Jeremy Bonderman was lit up for six earned runs over six innings in a loss to the White Sox on Friday night.
Bonderman struck out four and walked one while giving up seven hits. After an impressive stretch in May and June that saw Bonderman largely benefit from favorable matchups, he's come back to reality. Consider the former first-round pick waiver-wire fodder.
Tue Aug 3 201021:48Bonderman shuts down White Sox to earn win
Jeremy Bonderman gave up only one run over 6 2/3 innings in a win over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Bonderman hadn't pitched since July 25, but he showed no ill-effects from the layoff in clamping down on the first-place White Sox. He struck out five, walked one and allowed five hits, improving his record to an even 6-6 and his ERA to 4.84.
Thu Jul 29 201012:17Bonderman downplays talk of retirment
Jeremy Bonderman downplayed his recent comments to the Detroit Free Pass about retirement.
"I love pitching," said Bonderman. "Just got to see if I get offered a contract." Despite his 5.05 ERA over 108 2/3 innings this season, Bonderman doesn't even turn 28 years old until October. Provided that he doesn't restrict himself to one area of the country, he should have no problem finding employment this winter.

Wed Jul 28 201010:01Bonderman considering retirement?
Jeremy Bonderman told the Detroit Free Press that he is considering retirement.
"(Owner Mike Ilitch) and the Tigers' organization have given me an opportunity to provide for my family really well, and I feel like I've saved a lot of money and I have the ability to be able to do what I want -- whether it's be with my kids every day or go on fishing trips with my dad or brothers," said Bonderman. "At times I love it. At times I'm like, 'Man.'" Bonderman, 27, will be a free agent after the 2010 season. He would likely return if the Tigers offer him a contract, but would otherwise only be open to signing with a team out west in order to be closer to his family in Pasco, Washington. Of more immediate urgency to fantasy owners, Bonderman will be skipped in the rotation this week and won't start again until next Tuesday.

Sat Jul 10 201018:53Bonderman earns win vs. Twins
Jeremy Bonderman gave up three runs over six innings in a win over the Twins on Saturday.
He held the Twins to four hits -- including a solo home run to Michael Cuddyer in the fourth inning -- while striking out a pair and walking just one. Bonderman allowed just two home runs over his first nine starts, but has served up at least one in each of his last eight starts. His luck has essentially evened out during the first half.
Sun Jul 4 201016:10Bonderman hit hard in loss to Mariners
Jeremy Bonderman was rocked for seven runs in five innings of a loss to the Mariners on Sunday.
Bonderman gave up two walks, seven singles, and two extra-base hits in the contest, but those extra-base hits were ill-timed as they each plated three runs for the Mariners. Bonderman has failed to post a quality start in each of his last three outings, and today's disaster start against the lowly Mariners will keep him off fantasy rosters for awhile. He's not worth using in most formats with the Twins due up later in the week.
Wed Jun 23 201021:54Bonderman wears down against Mets
Jeremy Bonderman yielded four earned runs over seven innings in a loss to the Mets on Wednesday night.
Bonderman struck out three, walked one and gave up seven hits. He only allowed two runs through six innings, but got into trouble in the seventh and the bullpen allowed all inherited runners to score. After a stretch of plus matchups that made him a spot-start play in mixed leagues, Bonderman has to face the Twins in Minnesota next time out.
Thu Jun 17 201016:14Bonderman strong in win over Nationals
Jeremy Bonderman pitched seven innings of two-run ball Thursday in a victory over the Nationals.
Bonderman has been aided by an easy schedule of late. This was actually his toughest assignment in a while, as his previous five starts came against the A's, Mariners, Indians, Royals and Pirates. Bonderman struck out seven and walked none in this one. His ERA is down to 4.06 after a rough April.
Sun Jun 6 201017:28Bonderman shelled by Royals in loss
Jeremy Bonderman coughed up seven runs on 11 hits over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Royals on Sunday.
Bonderman is susceptible to dud outings like this from time to time, even against weak offenses. Given how well he'd been pitching in the month of May, owners should be inclined to stick with him for his next turn against the Pirates.
Tue Jun 1 201021:55Bonderman lasts eight innings, but takes loss
Jeremy Bonderman yielded three runs on nine hits over seven innings Tuesday in a 3-1 loss to the Indians.
Bonderman definitely didn't have his good stuff and a better offense may have really put the hurt on him. Fortunately, pitching against the Indians, he was able to minimize the damage and last eight innings. Bonderman walked two and struck out one while allowing two homers, both of which were of the solo variety. In May, he posted a 1.33 ERA and a 26/7 K/BB ratio in 27 innings and the resurgence has definitely made him a recommended play in AL-only formats.
