Harang will be a part of the Philadelphia rotation this year, somewhere behind the lead duo of Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee. Although he has only mediocre strikeout potential and age 37 looms in May, Harang did a good job of avoiding home runs for Atlanta last year while posting a 12-12 starting record. Aside from a messy 2013 where he posted an ERA of 5.40, Harang's ERA was 3.64 or lower in three of the last four years.

Expectations were minimal for Harang entering 2014, but he surprised everyone by posting a career-low 3.57 ERA and finishing in the top 10 in the NL in innings pitched with 204.1. He's certainly not among the top tier of free agents, but there will likely be several teams interested in the 36-year-old's services this winter.

It was a nice bounce-back performance from Harang, who was clobbered for six runs on 10 hits over 3.2 innings against Miami in his last start. In fact, the right-hander outdueled Stephen Strasburg, scattering six singles while fanning nine, his highest total since May 11. The big right-hander is slated to back atop the mound Wednesday afternoon versus the Nationals.

Harang (10-7) nearly went the distance Tuesday, tossing 8.1 innings of nine-hit, three-run ball in a win over the Pirates. He did not issue a single walk and also fanned four.
This was a nice showing for the 36-year-old, who hadn't recorded a W since July 10 against the Mets (seven starts prior). Harang's pitch count of 114 was one shy of his season high, which he probably would have eclipsed it had Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez not pulled him after three straight hits with one out in the ninth. Regardless, Harang now owns a 3.50 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP and 59:119 BB:K in 26 starts this season, proving that he's still capable of being a dependable workhorse in the bottom end of a talented Braves rotation.
