Tue Aug 6 201309:41Hedo Turkoglu gets in shape w/ Turkish team
Hedo Turkoglu scored 11 points for Turkey during a EuroBasket exhibition this weekend.
Turkoglu is waiting for the Magic to buy out the final year of his contract, after which he's expected to look for another guaranteed NBA contract. He shot just 26.4 percent from the field in limited action last year, in a season marred by a positive test for anabolic steroids, and teams may be watching him at EuroBasket to see how much he has left to contribute.

Sun Jul 28 201309:22Hedo Turkoglu not yet ready to leave NBA
Hedo Turkoglu suggested that once he enters the NBA's "1,000-game club" he will return to play professionally in Turkey.
"I've been in the NBA for 13 years," Turkoglu said, "and the only European who's been in the league longer than I have is [Dirk] Nowitzki." With 897 career games played in the NBA, Turk would have to play at least two more seasons in the U.S. to reach his goal. He struggled last season and served a 20-game ban after testing positive for anabolic steroids, and the Magic are widely expected to buy out his contract before training camp.

Wed Jul 24 201309:44Turkoglu, Harrington eager for Magic buyouts
Hedo Turkoglu and Al Harrington both expect the Magic to buy out their contracts this summer.
Both veterans are hopeful that their contracts get resolved soon, giving them the best possible chance to land a guaranteed deal with another NBA team. Half of Turkoglu's $12 million salary is guaranteed this season, the final year of his deal, while Harrington is owed a guaranteed $7.4 million out of a possible $14.8 million over the next two seasons. Neither guy has a role on the rebuilding Magic.

Tue Jul 9 201315:58Magic and Hedo Turkoglu talking buyout
The Magic and Hedo Turkoglu are progressing on contract buyout talks.
It's been a long time coming for Turkoglu and the Magic's new-found depth on the wing has left him a bit undesirable. He played in just 11 games, averaging 2.9 points in 17.9 minutes last season, so the Magic won't be missing him too much. Some team should pick up the 34-year-old forward following his likely buyout.

Thu Jun 27 201309:48Magic GM plans to talk to Turkoglu's agent
Magic GM Rob Hennigan says he plans to talk to Hedo Turkoglu's agent soon.
We're guessing the two sides will discuss a buyout, which everyone's predicted since Turkoglu was suspended midway through the season. Turkoglu even sounded like a guy ready to walk out the door during his comments after the season. We expect Turkoglu will be a free agent before long.

Fri May 10 201308:41Turkoglu knows time w/ Magic probably over
Hedo Turkoglu admitted that his time with the Magic is likely over.
GM Rob Hennigan said in mid-April that no decision has been made on Turkoglu's future, but he was shut down earlier in the season when healthy to allow the kids to play in Orlando, and it would be a major surprise if the two sides don't work out a buyout. "I'm happy I got to be a part of some of the great, great moments here in Orlando and no one can ever change history," Turkoglu said. He certainly sounds like a guy on his way out the door.

Thu Apr 18 201309:50No decision yet on Hedo Turkoglu's future
GM Rob Hennigan said the Magic have not made a decision regarding Hedo Turkoglu's future with the team.
Turkoglu said previously that he would be surprised if the club brought him back, and so would we. Expect the parties to part in the offseason and for Turkoglu to try and restart his career with another team.

Wed Apr 10 201308:27Magic have essentially canned their veterans
The Magic have "essentially shut down healthy veterans" Hedo Turkoglu and Al Harrington.
Neither player is expected to play again this season as the Magic evaluate their youth for next season and beyond. Orlando will do everything possible to either trade or buy out both players before 2013/14 begins.

Sun Mar 31 201308:54Turkoglu out Saturday for daughter's birth
Hedo Turkoglu was unavailable on Saturday due to the impending birth of his daughter.
Turkoglu, who also has a four-year-old daughter named Ela, hasn't played in a game since February 4. It seems doubtful that we'll see him again this season.

Wed Mar 27 201308:25Hedo Turkoglu doesn't know what his role is
Hedo Turkoglu admitted that he's not certain of his role now that he's eligible to play following his suspension.
Jacque Vaughn made no guarantees about playing the veteran, and it sounds like Turkoglu knows he could be in for extended time on the bench. "I just have to wait and see what happens," he said. "I don't expect a whole lot. It's just because of the situation. Sometimes, you just see things before talking." Feel free to monitor Turkoglu's production from the waiver wire.

Tue Mar 26 201312:35Turkoglu eligible to return from suspension
Hedo Turkoglu is now eligible to return from his 20-game suspension and is expected to be in uniform on Wednesday.
Jacque Vaughn said the veteran would be in uniform, but he did not specify if he'd play. We can't imagine Turkoglu having a major role if he has one at all given the Magic are evaluating their young players and have an eye on the future.

Fri Mar 22 201311:31Hedo Turkoglu unlikely to be in Magic's plans
Jacque Vaughn said he's given "zero" thought to Hedo Turkoglu's role once he returns from his susension.
Turkoglu is eligible to return from his suspension as of March 27, but the Magic plan to play their young kids and evaluate for the future, so it's possible Turkoglu doesn't play again this season even after his suspension is over. Moe Harkless and Tobias Harris are locked into major minutes the rest of the way.

Fri Feb 15 201311:12Hedo Turkoglu can practice during suspension
Hedo Turkoglu can still attend practice and train with the Magic during his 20-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance.
Magic GM Rob Hennigan said he expects Turkoglu, who tested positive for the anabolic steroid methenolone, to play for the Magic again once the suspension ends March 27. Turkoglu is averaging just 2.9 points, 2.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game this season and will lose roughly $2.15 million as a result of the ban.

Wed Feb 13 201315:17Hedo Turkoglu suspended for failed drug test
The NBA suspended Hedo Turkoglu for 20 games on Wednesday after he tested positive methenolone, which is an anabolic steroid.
Turkoglu and Magic GM Rob Hennigan say Turkoglu unknowingly ingested a banned substance what back home in Turkey. The ban comes during the worst season of Turkoglu's career, with the swingman averaging just 2.9 points, 2.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. Turkoglu also missed a large portion of the season with a broken left hand. Methenolone is the same substance Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez reportedly tested positive for in 2003.

Sun Feb 10 201318:42Hedo Turkoglu (back) will not play Sunday
Hedo Turkoglu (back) will not play against the Blazers on Sunday.
He was back at practice after dealing with an illness on Saturday, but now he has a back issue. Hedo has plenty of opportunity with the Magic arguably having the least amount of talent on their roster, but he's still not worth owning in almost any format right now.

Sat Feb 9 201317:01Hedo Turkoglu back at practice on Saturday
Hedo Turkoglu (illness) was back at practice on Saturday and was playing pick-up games with the team.
He hasn't cracked double-digit scoring all season and he's been out of the rotation for the most part. Hedo isn't worth owning in almost any league even with the Magic's dearth of talent.

Fri Feb 8 201318:47Turkoglu (flu) will not play on Friday
Hedo Turkoglu (flu) will not play on Friday against the Cavs.
Turkoglu has barely cracked the rotation outside a handful of games this season, and he'll need to earn significant minutes before we give him any real attention, even for a team as shallow as the Magic.

Thu Feb 7 201313:39Hedo Turkoglu unlikely to play on Friday
Hedo Turkoglu (flu) is not expected to travel to Cleveland and is unlikely to play on Friday.
Turkoglu missed Wednesday's game with flu-like symptoms, and the illness is knocking him pretty hard. Without the veteran in the lineup, the Magic will rely on their youth and will feed rookie Moe Harkless all he can handle.

Wed Feb 6 201320:46Hedo Turkoglu out with flu-like symptoms
Hedo Turkoglu will not play against the Clippers on Wednesday due to flu-like symptoms.
There was no word on Hedo missing the game until after tipoff, but he hasn't been needed much to begin with. He's played just 13.8 minutes per game in his last five and doesn't have much fantasy value even with the Magic extremely banged up.
