Lawrie went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's 4-2 victory over the White Sox.

Lawrie's bat appears to be coming alive again after a 2-for-19, five-game stretch earlier in the month. Lawrie started off September hot as well, hitting .438 over the first four contests of the month. Thursday's performance marked his second multi-hit outing in the last three games, all against the White Sox, and brought his average over that span to .462 (6-for-13).

Lawrie is not in the lineup Tuesday.

It looks like a scheduled day off for Lawrie, who will cede second base duties to Eric Sogard on Tuesday against Chicago starter Jeff Samardzija.

After a first half that saw Lawrie hit eight homers in 309 at-bats, Lawrie has surged with the power in the second half with six homers in only 144 at-bats. Lawrie has managed to stay relatively healthy for the season and is on pace for his first career 500 at-bat season and has already topped his previous career high of 12 homers.

After being a late scratch over the weekend, Lawrie returns to the lineup on Monday at second base. With his back acting up at random times over the course of the season, this looked to just be a minor blip.

Lawrie was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup against the Diamondbacks due to back tightness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Lawrie has dealt with back issues throughout the season, and it appears he had a recurrence Sunday. As a result, Eric Sogard will replace him in the lineup, batting eighth and playing second base.

Lawrie went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 6-4 loss to Arizona on Friday.

Lawrie has generally been considered a bust for the majority of his career, but he's been very good for the A's this season. Not only has he stayed healthy for the first time in years, he's batting .274 with 13 home runs and 52 RBI. He has also been white-hot over an eight-game hit streak, hitting three homers, three doubles, and recording seven RBI in that span.

Lawrie went 2-for-4 with his 12th homer of the year against the Mariners on Wednesday.

He's quietly gone on a little offensive binge recently, having racked up 13 hits -- including three doubles and two homers -- in his last seven games. But even so, despite once upon a time being among baseball's top prospects, Lawrie's game has stagnated -- he's been consistently mediocre, posting an OPS right around the league average in four consecutive seasons now. On the bright side, Lawrie's avoided missing extended time to injury for the first time in his career.

Lawrie is back in the lineup Friday against Tampa Bay.

Back soreness kept Lawrie out of Wednesday's contest, but after an off day Thursday, he's back in the lineup at second base. He'll bat sixth against Rays' starter Drew Smyly.

After going 2-for-4 with a home run in Sunday's 18-2 defeat, the only bright spot of their previous game finds a seat on the bench on Monday. He's having a tough August, hitting for a .576 OPS, after a poor July as well where his OPS was just .605.

Lawrie, as expected, will return to action following a regular day off Saturday. The third baseman had just a .605 OPS in the month of July, but will look to right the ship starting Sunday afternoon.

Lawrie hasn't taken a day off since June 28 and it seems that Saturday is his long-awaited day to recoup as the Athletics face right-handed pitcher Cody Anderson. Fellow third baseman Max Muncy takes over for Lawrie in the meantime.

Lawrie had a massive game in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, a homer, four RBI, and a stolen base.

Lawrie's all-around excellence probably should have been enough for the Athletics to come away with the victory, but a leaky bullpen ultimately compromised those efforts. With nine homers, 42 RBI, five steals, and a .280 average on the season, Lawrie has turned in a steady, if unspectacular season relative to some of the league's other third basemen, but his second-base eligibility in most formats has made him one of the more intriguing fantasy options at a shallower position.

Lawrie is expected to see more increased opportunities at second base following Tuesday's trade of Ben Zobrist to the Royals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With Zobrist out of the picture, Eric Sogard becomes the nominal starter at second base, but Lawrie could be used at the position on the occasions manager Bob Melvin desires a little more offensive upside in his lineup. Lawrie, who is slashing .272/.307/.393 with eight homers and 38 RBI on the season, likely already has eligibility at both second and third in most leagues after logging 32 games at the former position in 2014.

Lawrie is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Indians.

With Lawrie out of the lineup for the first time since June 28, Eric Sogard will get a start at third base. Lawrie had an excellent June and has solid numbers for the season, but his career-high marks for strikeout rate (26 percent) and BABIP (.369) suggest he'll have a tough time maintaining his .284/.321/.422 slash line after the All-Star break.

Lawrie was having a rough night on Tuesday, striking out in his first three at-bats, but was able to pound a two-strike slider from Dellin Betances for the game-winning bomb. Lawrie has been solid for the A's through the first half, hitting .291 with eight homers and 37 RBI, but even more importantly he has been able to stay healthy and on the field.

Lawrie is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals.

After batting in the two-hole the last two games, Lawrie will drop out of the lineup entirely as he rests for the first time in 10 games. With seven homers, three steals, and a .285 average on the season, Lawrie doesn't rank among the standout fantasy contributors at third base this season, but he's been a dependable depth option in larger formats.

Lawrie had a big night on Wednesday, compiling three hits and driving in four with a grand slam.

Lawrie mashed a first pitch curveball from Wandy Rodriguez for the grand slam, his seventh homer of the year. Lawrie is having a fantastic month on June, slugging .583 with a .993 with 15 RBI in 72 at-bats. After an April where Lawrie hit only .229, he has steadily raised his average and now sits at a very solid .292 on the season.

Lawrie went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Angels.

Lawrie had the only extra-base hit of the game for the A's, as Garrett Richards stifled the Oakland bats for much of the contest. The 25-year-old Lawrie is now riding a seven-game hit streak, with four multi-hit efforts over that span to raise his average from .272 to .291. It's been an impressive run, but the strikeouts remain a concern (70 in 264 PA) and he is sporting an unusually high BABIP.

Lawrie was dealing with some back stiffness Tuesday, which held him out of the lineup for the A's afternoon game against the Padres. It appears the back stiffness has alleviated and Lawrie will take the field at third base and bat seventh in the order against San Diego's Odrisamer Despaigne.
