Fri Sep 28 201215:38Betemit thinks he'll be back for playoffs
Wilson Betemit (wrist) remains optimistic that he'll be ready to return during the postseason.
Betemit will visit hand specialist Dr. Brian Scofield early next week in order to check the progress of his right wrist. With Jim Thome back, the O's don't have a huge need for Betemit, but they surely wouldn't mind having him available.

Sat Sep 15 201201:09Orioles' Betemit likely done for season
Wilson Betemit is likely to miss the rest of the season after reinjuring his wrist in batting practice Friday.
It's a blow, for sure, but it'd be mitigated if the Orioles could get Jim Thome back as a DH against right-handers next week. Betemit wasn't spending much time in the field anyway with Manny Machado up to play third. If Thome can't come back, then the Orioles will probably give more outfield time to Lew Ford and Endy Chavez, with Chris Davis serving as a DH.

Wilson Betemit plated the Orioles only run with a sacrifice fly, losing the nightcap of the doubleheader against the Rangers on Thursday.
Betemit finished the night 0-for-3, lowering his average to .244 on the season. He has provided quite the offensive punch however with five homers and 18 RBI in just 78 at-bats on the season. Sun Apr 29 201216:24Betemit walks off O's against Balfour, A's
Wilson Betemit capped off a stunning comeback with a three-run homer Sunday, walking the Orioles off to a 5-2 victory.

The bomb was just Betemit's third of the season, but second in three games. Still, he's hitting only .235/.264/.490, and doesn't play enough to be worth mixed-league consideration.
